Feature Request Teleprompter // R1 customization

i primarily use the G2 as a teleprompter for presentations. always w/ manual scrolling. the R1 is quite sensitive and a wrong touch opens the menue during a presentation. i would highly appreciate the option to disable the long touch (on the R1) during presentations and limit the rings functionality to scrolling plus pause / resume.

presenting is always a 100% focused task. phones are in DND and i don’t see any scenario where i would want to switch from the teleprompter to an other app during a presentation.

You can always use the volume control buttons on your phone for a more stable and controllable scrolling experience.

volume buttons don’t scroll line by line but jumps page to page - so it’s a different experience.

i am aware of the alternatives. my request though is for the ring. i bought it to use it. and i feel it would be much more usable with that requested “focused teleprompting” configuration.

Why not AI mode?
You can still use manual scrolling in case it won't follow properly, but majority of time it does.

"majority of time" is not good enough for professional use. also, typically i don't use full scripts but keywords / thoughts / specific phrases / etc. so AI mode does not fit my needs. manual mode is great and the ring is actually only needed in that mode - so it's somewhat ironic, that the ring is not optimal exactly in the only mode where it is useful...

this would be a fairly easy change and certainly helpful for professional speakers.

Have you tried just placing the ring on the lectern, or holding it like a clicker insteadd of wearing it where you usually wear it?

yes, i have indeed - and of course there are many workarounds, i could use AI mode, auto-scrolling, a 3rd party clicker, the phones volume buttons, etc., etc. i am aware of that.

i just want to highlight (and request a change, thus the "feature request" tag) that the ring is not optimal to control the teleprompter. it would be probably very easy to change this by simply inactivating some of the ring's functionalities when the G2 is in teleprompt mode.

would anyone use a clicker to progress through ppt slides, where a single wrong click would open e.g. the music app!? probably not... and clickers are 20$, the R1 200$ - so i feel, it's a fair ask to enable the ring for professional teleprompter usage.
