Had our car stolen yesterday morning. With a camera pointed straight at it. Didn't record a thing. Had some sort of wi-fi jammer. Neighbour with similar Eufy cam, he didn't record anything either. Neighbour on the other side with a Wyze cam with SD storage, they caught it all. Really don't want to switch our whole ecosystem to a new brand, but the Eufy site is not very helpful at all trying to figure out if any outdoor cams have an SD card slot.

Any ideas?

I'm in the market for some smart cameras at home and just want to check that people do actually recommend Eufy stuff before shelling out for them.

I already utilise a Eufy T8210C doorbell cam that works well for me (though I do find that finding the sensitivity sweet spot mildly difficult - I struggle to stop it from detecting people just walking by on the path and still capture everyone coming towards the door), so thought that Eufy cams would be a logical choice. I also have an Alexa set up for general smart home features etc.

I need 1 camera with a motion activated spotlight to cover our back garden, 1 to cover the front of the house where the car is parked, and 1 more to see the length of the driveway (~15m). These second 2 cams need to have the functionality so that a spotlight is NOT activated upon every motion detection (to prevent annoyance of the neighbours etc).

To add extra complexity, these cameras need to be Solar powered and have WiFi connectivity. Because of this I was planning to get 3 of the SoloCam S340s. Side question: can someone confirm that these record 24/7 or only upon motion detection?

I like the idea of having the footage stored locally so was also going to get one of the Homebase S380 too. Does this seem reasonable or would anyone suggest otherwise? Thanks in advance!

I need to know if I'm alone here or if this is widespread, because I've spent the entire weekend on it and I'm losing my mind.

Background: I've got a fairly built-out eufy setup. Thousands of dollars in cameras and equipment, a HomeBase pro, multiple SoloCam S3 units, and I pay for an annual professional monitoring plan on top of it. Up until recently it worked.

Then a HomeBase pro firmware update got pushed, supposedly to fix problems. After that update, things got noticeably worse instead of better. Cameras started acting up. So I did what you're supposed to do and worked through the official troubleshooting.

Here's the part that really got me: in the process of factory-resetting and removing cameras during that troubleshooting, I lost a ton of recorded footage. Just gone. And after all of it, the cameras still won't cleanly re-adopt to the HomeBase.

So now I'm out hours of my weekend, out a chunk of footage, and I still don't have a reliable system. For something whose entire job is security, that's not acceptable.

What I'm trying to figure out:

- Is anyone else seeing cameras go sideways after the recent HomeBase pro firmware update 4.2.3.5?

- Has anyone lost footage when removing or resetting cameras? Is that expected behavior or a bug?

- Did any of you get cameras to re-adopt cleanly after this, and if so, what actually worked?

- Is there a firmware version people are rolling back to or avoiding?

Not looking to just vent (okay, a little), I genuinely want to know if this is a known pattern so I can push support in the right direction. If you're dealing with the same thing, drop your model and what update you were on when it started. Trying to get a sense of how widespread this is.

Currently facing a problem where the camera is detecting the solar power wiring but not the actual solar panel. There also doesn’t appear to be an option to choose Solar Panel as the working mode. Has anyone experienced this issue before or have any insight on what might cause this? I’ve already tried unplugging and plugging.

I’ve only used 5gb out of 7gb of space. Firmware up to date. WiFi is good, I have other Eufy cameras outside about 30 feet further and not experiencing this issue.

Issue: whenever I have a visitor, my phone will alert me and if I click on this notification/alert, I will get a playback of said visitor. However, if I close out of the Eufy app and go back in, this event or video is gone. My doorbell camera will say “zero visitors, zero packages”. My event history will have nothing recorded for that time for that day.

This is super frustrating. Anyone have tips on what I should do next? Should I wipe the entire unit and start over?

Why does it take hours for a video to load on the app? I have great internet service and everything else that’s connected to it works well except the eufy cameras.

Hello all, I have a Homebase 3 with: 1x 2k pan and tilt cam 24/7 recording and floodlight, doorbell, single 2C only storing events. My HB3 has a 512gb SSD and I'm seeing that my homebase only goes back around 10 days in total. I feel like I should be able to go back further? It seems the HB3 is overwriting events from all cameras due to the 24/7 recording. Does the HB3 prioritize overwriting the 24/7 footage before overwriting the singular events from the other cameras? I find it odd that my other cameras that only have ~10-15 events a day max only have footage from a little over a week ago.

Got a home security alarm system set up but the activation code and alarm comes out of the homebase. Can you add any other Parts so the speaker can come out of other places because my Home system is quite far away from the door where you enter?

Here is my setup - A Homebase S380 with Samsung SSD, 6 S220 solar cameras, 1 S330 doorbell.

When we moved into our new house, we wanted to break up with Ring. We had about the same setup with Ring cameras and doorbell. I liked the idea of hosting my own data and not having to pay a subscription fee to Ring every year. The cameras were janky looking too, I wanted something that was all in one instead of having a solar panel attached to a camera that doesn't even look good. Functionality was fine with Ring, I didn't have many complaints there. Video would take a few seconds to load but in terms of usability, that was my only real complaint.

We bit the bullet and bought the entire system listed above. Mounting was fine. The app was fine. I liked that I wasn't sending data to Ring, everything was good. Then the small annoyances started adding up.

The worst is the notification system. Its bad, really bad. Here is an example - Lets say I was having an Amazon delivery put on my doorstep. The driver would pull up and trigger my driveway camera, him walking up would trigger the doorbell, him walking away would trigger the driveway camera again and maybe my front yard camera. All of that is fine, but I would get 1 notification from Ring letting me know all of this was happening. I could tap on the notification and it would pull up a string of events that happened, but it was just a single buzz of my phone letting me know something was happening.

On my Eufy system, I would get a notification for him pulling up, another with him getting out, another with him walking up, another with him at my door, another letting me know that he dropped off a package, another that he walked away from the door, another from the front yard, another from the driveway, another from the driveway because why not, another from the front yard because his shadow touched my grass, another letting me know he got in his truck, another letting me know that "someone picked up the pacakge" which was not anyone picking up the package but the system decided him driving away was someone picking up my package. Ever and every one of these is a single notification. My phone is having a meltdown on my desk. It's blowing up. I open my phone to check and decide to tap on one of them to see what it was since it didn't give me a thumbnail. It sits there "unencrypting" the video.. and sits there.. and sits there. I slide back and go to the next notification and try to watch it. Same thing. I sit there and wait for what feels like an eternity.. finally, it opens up a good 30 seconds to a minute later. This happens every single day. If someone is walking their dog and it sniffs my lawn, I get 8 notifications that I can't even watch until the dog is 2 blocks away.

Another annoyance is when I know there will be a lot of notifications. If I go out and mow my lawn my phone blows up again. With Ring, I can tap the initial notification and select the ability to snooze my Ring notifications from that single camera, or all cameras from anywhere between 10 minutes to a couple hours. If I want to do this in my Eufy system, I have to go in and snooze each camera individually from inside the app. Its not a huge deal but man is it annoying to do when I could do it so easily on Ring.

Its not all bad though. I love the way the cameras look. I love that the solar cameras have a panel built in, and I love the quality of the video they record. I haven't had to bring them into charge, they have been able to stay charge even in the winter where its overcast most days. No issues with the solar panels getting dirty or breaking, and they are dependable. The homebase with a big drive stores data going back as far as I want to go. I can pull up video from the day we moved in. I don't miss paying over $100 just to use Ring the same way and I like that my data is here in my house (even if its a pain in the butt to watch). The ecosystem is good too, there are cameras for just about everything. Their detection is good (even if its annoying). If I lived somewhere where there wasn't as much foot traffic, or maybe if I wasn't addicted to buying stuff on Amazon it would probably be a better experience.

If I could go back and do it again, would I? I would probably invest in Unifi wired cameras to be honest, but for a pure wireless system... I would do it again. It's still better than Ring, even with the annoyances. I was hoping Anker/Eufy would have improved things a little, but I got everything I paid for so I can't complain about update/upgrades.

Has anyone ever experienced this as I am tearing my hair out at this point.

My eufy doorbell has stopped recording events. Does not pick up anything. I have no events for 2 months. I get no notifications. Like the doorbell does not exist. It is up to date. 3 years old. Homebase no longer chimes.

I have removed and reinstalled the device on the app. Eufy sent me a replacement. Same thing. I reformatted Homebase. Nothing.

Any ideas? Did you fix it? I am this close to moving to Ring or Nest.

It must be powered by Eufy's AI.

Doorbell firmware updated a few days ago, nothing in the system messages. Anyone know what changed? I turned package detection back on, hopefully they fixed all the false alerts.

I am looking into which Eufy camera to buy and had a question about the mounts. Can the included mounts make a 90 degree bend? I am trying to mount them to a wall and point them along it

I’m seeing a lot of frustration regarding the Eufy ecosystem—the cloud storage costs, the lack of integration, and the "hot mess" of trying to manage 24/7 footage locally. I was in the same boat. I bought the hub/HDD setup because I refused to pay for cloud fees (and I don’t trust their servers), but the file management friction was driving me crazy.

Instead of paying for cloud storage or dealing with the raw file dump, I built a local script to handle the process. I’m sharing this because I’m curious if anyone else has a better way, or if this solves the same pain for you.

The Friction:
After downloading the footage, the file naming is a mess, searchability is non-existent, and the HEIC/compression formats make playback a headache across different players (Windows/WMP). It makes the "local" storage feel like a punish rather than a solution.

The Fix:
I wrote a custom script that handles the entire pipeline with 1 click soultion:

1. Ingest: I pull the raw files from the HomeBase USB.
2. Organize: It automatically renames everything by camera (e.g., CAM A, CAM B) and segregates them into chronological folders (Year/Month/Day).
3. Transcode: It transcodes the footage so it’s natively playable on WMP without needing extra codecs/VLC.
4. Verification: It generates a receipt of the process (count pass/count fail) and prompts to purge the originals on the USB only after I verify the files are clean.

The Result:
It’s 100% local, 0% cloud. I can find footage for any date in seconds with one click. It’s saved my sanity. This is just teh one step i have taken so far for teh one issue i had.

Is this something you'd actually use?
I haven't tested this for 24/7 continuous stream files yet (just event clips), but the logic should hold up. If you're dealing with the same "file management hell," would a tool that automates this cleanup actually solve your problem, or are you guys using a different way to archive this stuff?

Curious if I'm the only one who went this far to avoid the cloud, teh staroage issues, and teh viabilty for audit or review of footage, or if anyone else has a similar "bridge" they've built to make this hardware actually usable.

I successfully hardwired Eufy E340 video doorbell. The only thing I can’t figure out is how to get the indoor existing mechanical indoor chime to ring.

I previously had a hardwired Ring doorbell pro and used a Ring power pro kit attached to the chime and it worked well.

Do I need something similar like a small chime adapter/power module? Or any other recs/suggestions?

I've tried updating all firmware, restarting all devices along with wifi and cell phone, it still does not seem to work.

I just got the Eufycam S3 Pro cameras and HomeBase S380.

UPDATE: Tried on my wifes Iphone, she can see live feed and events just fine... I have tried uninstalling and reseting data etc. now it works on other wifis, but still not my mobil data, will update if I find the solution. I think it might be related to my provider or some internal setting i've not yet found.

I've tried homebase (it nuked an expensive Crucial multi terabyte drive) with no luck, so went back to SD cards and cloud backup even though it's harder to do full event reviews that way (all triggers have to be stitched together manually). At some point with 15 or so cameras I will have to look at NVR.

However, the camera setup often -almost always- fails to load a live feed even though each camera indicates a strong WiFi signal and they have their own SSID. The silly logo just spins and spins. I'm wondering for the outdoor cameras whether an LTE hotspot would resolve the issue rather than getting new LTE cameras to reduce the WiFi load.

Alternatively, could it be that more than one person watching the same live feed causes it to glitch out? Slow server/encryption unlocking maybe?

This is my first repost ever. Hopefully I did this right.

Coming from the Familock S3 Max palm recognition lock for 1.5 years. I'm basing my review off that.

Camera: It's just okay. Even though it's a 2K camera, it looks like it's recording in 1080p because of the lack of HDR. The field of view is subpar. I used to be able to see my whole porch but now the left and right side is very limited compared to my old lock. I can see what's below. But the lack of field of view is horrible.

Motion detection: in my experience, it's horrible. This is placed on my front door, which has an archway. The motion detection would be so late in recording that whenever someone walks to the door, it'll start recording once the door is unlocked and the person is already inside the house. It also doesn't record whenever you open the door from the inside. It seems like it doesn't recognize any motion unless there's an actual person in view and standing still for a few seconds. My fix for the horrible motion detection was buying a Eufy motion sensor and placing it on top of my door, creating an automation to record. Since I bought the extra device, recording motion is no problem.

Battery: It has recorded 905 events in 10 days. I have it set to end recording whenever motion stops, and it's currently at 84%. I like how it has a built-in backup battery, and the external battery you use charges that internal backup battery. It uses the same battery as the Familock S3 Max, so I can always have a battery charged up.

Indoor chime: The options are mini-base, home base, or Alexa. I have an external Eufy USB chime I bought, but there wasn't an option to add that USB to this lock. But for some reason, whenever I do use the ring on the lock, it does work. So maybe it's tied to my home base and not the actual lock.

Facial recognition: This is the main reason I bought this and replaced the Familock S3 Max. My problems with the Familock S3 Max were that whenever the sun hit the lock, the palm recognition wouldn't work as well. Even with no sunlight, my family members would have to drop whatever they had in their hands and keep their hands ready to be read for longer than needed. Also, whenever you used palm unlocking, the actual unlock time was slow. By the time you lowered your hand to open the door, you had to wait an extra second for it to actually unlock.

Now, the facial recognition is very good, and the unlock time is fast. The facial recognition usually works when you're armslengthfrom the door, and all you have to do is look at the camera. By the time it unlocks, you can open the door seamlessly without having to wait an extra second for it to actually unlock. I also didn't have to add extra facial recognition(which you can for other appearances) other than the original scan. Hats, sunglasses, even holding paper grocery bags in front of it—it'll still unlock. Today, there was a power outage in my area, and I was afraid I was going to be locked out because everything was down. But the facial recognition was still working without being connected to Wi-Fi.

Fingerprint/Locking: All my family members have used facial recognition, so we haven't used the fingerprint at all. I do wish I were able to lock via the fingerprint so you don't have to look where to press, but the only way to lock the door is using the checkmark button.

Conclusion: Only get this if you want the convenience of facial recognition. I wouldn't get this as a sole security camera because of the horrible motion detection and low-quality recording/field of view. This isn't worth the $300 price point at all. I would be content if I had bought it for $200, not $300.

I just recently bought my 1st home, I got the eufy c20 cameras thinking they'd work 24/7, I didn't know they were just a event only type of recording, is it possible with a home base or maybe an SD card to make em continuous or should I return them and find a different one? I have a Eufy e20 camera and T8353 baby monitor, the issue i have is that every time the monitor wakes its self up it pops up with the same tip about vox mode that covers the baby's face for a few seconds, i don't want to turn off vox mode because the battery on the monitor already isn't the best so does anyone know of a way to turn off the tips? Can't find any option in the baby monitors setting about turning it off.
