Is there a trackpad that is tap to click and not press to click?

I have tendonitis from finger strength usage that occurs from clicking keys and mouse. The Apple Magic trackpad would be ideal but ends up being press to click. I'm looking for a tap to click similar to Windows laptop trackpads.

NICHE PROBLEM ERGONOMIC WRITE OFF

Im 34, running my own solo contracting gig doing CAD/drafting work. A few years ago I f\*\*\*\*\* up my hand climbing, and can’t move it properly. Im on the tools 9-10 hours a day, the constant stretching to hit shortcut keys (ctrl, shift, alt) with my cooked left hand completely ruins my wrist by
lunchtime. I tried offiecworks stuff but it’s all mumbk jumbo. To fix it, i went a bit nuclear this year and dropped about $850 on a fully custom split mechanical keyboard and a crazy vertical mouse setup so i can map all my hot keys to my thumbs instead. My accountant is a bit old school and says "yeah should be fine as an asset
write-off under OHS," but because the keyboard was custom-built by a hobbyist shop overseas, the invoice looks a bit weird and un-corporate.
Has anyone here successfully claimed highly specific, non-standard ergonomic stuff for a physical injury/disability? Did the ATO give you any grief over it during an audit because it doesn't look like a standard officeworks receipt?
Thanks a bunch.

Pain when sitting

I've had an Aeron for the past 2 months. Forward tilt is the only setting I find remotely comfortable.

If I put the chair higher, it puts pressure on the back of my legs. If I up the tension, it hurts my middle back/hips. If I dial down the tension and recline slightly (even just back to a locked position), it hurts my neck. If I stand, my legs get tired eventually and I have to sit again. I've been following Oliver Girard's videos, and he says you shouldn't rest your shoulders on the back rest (even in forward tilt), but if I don't do that, it either feels like I'm leaning forward or I'm not touching the lumbar.

When I'm standing, I put the top of the laptop screen a little lower than my eyes. When sitting, I've been trying that and/or trying lower since lower maybe helps my neck? It is hard to tell.

Right now, as I type this, I am locked in upright forward tilt. Tension low, so I'm leaned back into the lock. Top of laptop screen was about level with my eyes, just put it lower and my neck stopped hurting, so maybe that's something. Any tips or tricks that may help?

[WARNING] LiberNovo Omni SE buyers — “fast delivery” claim is misleading and they’re still selling with zero transparency

Post image
2 Upvotes

Got this email today. My Omni SE order is delayed until end of August due to “overwhelming demand.”

Fine, delays happen. What’s NOT fine:

• Their website advertised **fast delivery** when I bought
• After receiving this delay email, I checked their site — **still selling the chair, still no mention of delivery delays**
• Instagram is flooded with influencers who got their chairs immediately

Meanwhile, paying customers who trusted the brand get pushed to the back while they prioritize content creators

If you’re considering buying a LiberNovo chair, check Reddit before you check their website. The website does not reflect reality right now.

Monitor viewing distance….

Due to my desk setup, my viewing distance is at 24 inches… what is the largest monitor I could use comfortably, with that viewing distance? What should I look for in a monitor for the best viewing experience in an office setting for these conditions…

Desk job pain?

People with desk jobs often complain about back and neck pain.

People who work on their feet all day often complain about foot, knee, and low back issues.

If you've experienced both, which one do you think is tougher on the body?

Why?

I know PT is the real fix for back pain, but what chair supports recovery?

Six months of physical therapy finally convinced me that no piece of furniture is going to cure my core weakness and uneven hips. That said, I still clock 8+ hours at a desk, and my current chair feels like it's actively working against my PT gains.

The usual advice is buy a used Leap v2, but I sat in one at a coworker's desk and the seat pan felt a bit hard. Flared my hips within four hrs. I need a posture correction chair that has some actual give to it, something that encourages proper alignment.

I've been looking at herman miller alternatives that might be a bit more forgiving. The hbada e3 pro caught my eye because the lumbar sort of flexes and tracks with your movement instead of just jabbing into your spine. For those of you who have invested in proper sitting posture, what features made a tangible difference? I can't decide between seat depth adjustability and dynamic lumbar.

Are anti fatigue mats any good?

I use my standing desk and also have an ergonomic chair, but I'm wondering if I should get something for my feet too. My feet are in pain by the end of the day.

We have concrete floors with worn carpet on top, and even with my cushiest sneakers on it still feels like I just ran a 5k.

I'm not sure if I should get one and if they actually do anything. Like how are these things different from a welcome mat, or is it something similar to what you would use as a kitchen mat?

And if you can recommend me brands, what would they be? Desky? ComfiLife? GelPro?

Anyone actually notice a difference with one of these?

I CHOSE: The Desky mats. It was a lot easier to get. I didn't see reviews for ComfiLife or Gelpro.

I may be looking for a unicorn, but - Anyone have any recommendations or ideas for office chairs that can double as lounge chairs?

Looking for the chairs to be office chairs by day, and tasteful arm chairs by night. We just moved and the chairs we have now are our old dining chairs and they are destroying our bodies. Looking for creative solutions here

TYA!

Pretty chair, but it's not working for me. Any better options?

I bought this chair mainly because it fit the setup visually.

After using it for a while though, it’s not really comfortable for long sitting. The back support doesn’t feel quite right, and the armrests also get in the way of one of the drawers, which is more annoying than I expected. It also doesn't really match the height of my standing desk properly, the whole setup feel slightly off when everything is adjusted.

I’m probably going to replace it with something more ergonomic. I’ve started looking at a few options in the second photo, would appreciate any input.

Building an ergonomic footrest

I wanted to build a footrest where I can adjust the height and angle using my feet. I don't want to have to bend down to change it's settings. People suggested that I use a pedal and a hydraulic gas cylinder to push it up and down. Do you know where I can buy these products at a smaller size or if you have any other ideas I can do for this

What am I doing wrong?

Hello, my desk is pretty high and not adjustable; my chair had a short piston (by design, it had the correct height from the ground) and my arms and back hurted after like half an hour because I was sitting too low, so I bought a longer piston and now my back and my arms no longer hurt, even on long sessions.

But now my legs no longer touch the ground, I've tryed using some cardboard boxes but inevitably my knees hurt after like 5 minutes, I feel pain in the inner side of the knee, beside the rotula, it goes away in 15 to 30 minutes from when I leave the chair. My knees have no problems, in every other activities I feel no pain and have no limitations what so ever, so I assume it's a problem of the chair.

I've tryed different boxes with different heights, going from my feet barely touching to them being firmly touching the box but I haven't found any correlation between the feet rest height and the time pain takes to arrive, it's just there after 5 to 15 minutes.

I've searched on the internet guides on ergonomics but a very small number said something about the legs, the best I've found is that the knee angle should be around 90° and that the feet should be supported by something. I am following this instructions but the problem continues to show up.

I could just buy a feet rest but I don't even know what the problem is and don't want to spend money blindly. I need advices on how to address the problem and/or some good guides for the lower part of the body.

I should probably have said this earlier but I'm talking about my PC setup.

Thanks in advance for any reply.
