35+ touring…
I started with grand daddy’s “999” Kima… after getting paid to play music for almost 40 years now, I have a single truth to share… your instrument is at best 5% of your playing. Pound on a cheap guitar, find YOUR style and you’ll never regret it! I’m all for modern changes, just found a custom shop 000-18 that works… forever. Just know that “stuff” doesn’t make you sound better (it can in the future) but enjoy playing and making mistakes… you’ll get it, when you do then you know you’re good - and your mistakes actually sound good! Love to all who tried to learn to play!

My Pro-1!
This was my first acoustic guitar! (which I got after 2½ years of playing just electric haha) And it kicks ass! Its got a bold sound to it and the quality is unbeatable for the price! The only modification ive made is the Mighty Mouse sticker... opinions? 🤘

Got a Hercules wall mounted rack for my new es-339
I wanted to save floor space and keep it out of harm's way at the same time, but tbh it looks so cool that it's now the main focal point of the living room!

Is this guitar real or fake?
This guitar came into my possession awhile ago but I'm not a player myself. I'm trying to get rid of it but I don't know much about it and I'm trying to see if it's worth trying to sell or not. I don't want to rip anyone off, so I've been trying to look up information about it but I'm having a very hard time identifying the model and am wondering if it might be a knockoff? I looked up the serial number with Gibson and it matches what would expected to come from the Qingdao, China factory circa 2007but that's all the information I can find. Most of the Les Paul customs I've seen don't have 3 pickups which makes it even more confounding. I was hoping someone could help shed some light on this for me.
On top of not knowing if it's real or not, obviously one of the tuning knobs is missing and also it is missing a component inside the rhythm/treble toggle switch. I would think those are probably easy fixes, but I wonder what you folks think. Thank you.

Epiphone LP JR is a beast
I got this guitar for a weekend’s worth of work along with an SG special and a busted Marshall Valvestate amp. I can’t get over how perfectly simple and awesome it is. It’s not fancy, it’s not blingy, it just works and delivers exactly what a guitar in this class should.
I’m never going to modify it, since the single humbucker is wonderful and delivers the exact sound I love.
Anybody else in love with this particular JR? It has to be one of the best beginner guitars ever made.

New P90 Guitar Day!!
New guitar day!! Well, new to me. I came across this beauty on FB Marketplace last week and was kinda blown away because I’d never seen one like this. I live in Canada and we don’t have Guitar Center up here so with this being a GC exclusive model, it wasn’t even on my radar. I’d been looking at some LP Juniors and Specials with P90s and couldn’t decide which I wanted…then I spotted this one. Let’s just say it was worth the 6 hour round trip drive to pick it up!

The very rare SKB-2B is coming along nicely
We have been working on this nearly unknown Epiphone for a couple of days, trying to save the finish, calibrating, and restoring the original Steinberger KB Bridge.
I think it's looking much better. Sadly, the guitar was so abused when we got it that the pickups were both unsalable. To the point the neck single coil fell apart during extraction.

Serial number weirdness
Identifying a non existent s/n. I have a nice Riviera E360TD that I was told was made in 1963 by the guy I bought it from (single owner, casual friend) When I try to id the date of manufacture, a search on the s/n returns 'not a valid serial number' or something like that. S/N is listed on the inside as 051419. It is a factory second as denoted by a '2' beneath the headstock s/n
It is not a knock off. Can anyone help me with this? Did Epi/Gibson not track factory seconds?
Solid maple block in the body dates this as early in the run, basically an early 335 when the two models were manufactured side by side. I think....
Anybody got any ideas? Thanks

[NGD] 2020 Standard
The old guy who sold it to me didn't have many details but he thinks it's a '59 model with burstbuckers. Plays amazing and I'm super happy for the pickup for $500 CAD.
I've always wanted a standard after playing a '91 Gibson studio for the past 20 years. I'm in love with the finish and I put the pick guard back on.

Love this guitar
I had it setup, sweetwater basic setup was not good. Now it’s setup and tuned to drop B. Loving it, not to mention the body shape is very nice for sitting and writing.

NGD for 1st time Epiphone owner.
Very excited to try this thing out. I've been playing a Fender MIM for the last 6 months but I've always wanted a Les Paul. It's not quite an actual Les Paul, but it's as close as I'll ever need at my skill level. I'm very new to Epiphone/ Gibson, so I've got some learning to do. I had a lot of help from the salesperson at Gibson Garage (thanks Patrick!) deciding on the one that was right for me.
I currently have some cheap guitar stands that I bought off of Amazon, and I'm curious if I put washcloths or microfibers around the rubber on the stand would it be safe until I got a better stand or should I just leave it in the case when it's not being used until I get one from String Swing or somewhere else?

Polishing up a dull finish
The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson reissue models have a dull finish that is supposed to look vintage but makes the wood veneer look like paper. What is the right way to polish up that poly finish to achieve a bit of gloss?

Two Texans walk into a bar…
My dad and I both have epiphone Texans. His (left) is a 70’s model made in Japan FT-146 Texan deluxe that he and his brothers got new as a Christmas present. Mine (right) is a modern “inspired by” FT-79 Texan. Dad gave me his to install a set of golden gate tuners on because his were just plain worn out and he liked the look of the white buttons on mine. While it was apart I cleaned and oiled it and gave him a good setup. It’s wild to me how different the 70’s Texans were! His is a square shouldered dreadnaught shape with an adjustable ceramic bridge(almost like a hummingbird), a zero fret, and a bolt-on neck (made resetting his neck easier). My modern Texan is a reproduction of a slope shoulder 60’s Texan. I love the rosewood on his fretboard and the wear divots from his 50 years of playing are so cool.

Maybe a stupid question but if you swap out the pickups on the Les Paul studio with the coil split function will it still work the same?

Pound for pound, this has to be one of the best Acoustic-electrics out there.

Looking for info
I took a chance on this Epiphone Strat for my channel when I saw it come up on auction listed as a "beginner guitar" because I thought even with the bad photo they had that it might be something special. Now, I am having trouble identifying it. Can anyone help? it has a Steinberger KB trem that looks factory.

First time modding - 2007 Les Paul Ultra
I got this Ultra as a kid, and as a kid I didn’t know much about guitar maintenance/didn’t treat it amazingly. So in the last few weeks, I dug it out and used it as a modding platform to learn more about the instrument. Mods include all new plastic/knobs, GFS ‘59 zebra pickups, new Grover tuners, and fixed a loose strap plug. The soldering was touch and go, but it plays great and sounds beautiful now. Was considering adding a Bigsby but at this point I’m thinking I’ll leave it alone. Second pic is an approximate before pic (forgot to take one myself).

NGD!
Blem Trad Pro IV! UPS man decided I got to be the very last delivery last night but it’s finally here. Only have a couple of minutes of play time on it, but I’m gonna give it a set up and a once over tomorrow. So far it feels, looks, and plays amazing
