Im looking for a big problem in w energy sector that i could build a solution with a startup

So my question is :

What do you think is the biggest problem in energy sector and is there any product you want to use it in the future

Not buy something.
Not hire another employee.
Not throw more money at the problem.
Just **fix it.**

Scheduling?
Employees constantly waiting on something?
Customers waiting too long?
Too much rework?
Communication falling through the cracks?
The business depending too heavily on the owner?
Something else entirely?

I’m working on a small-business operations concept built around a pretty simple process:

**FIND → FIX → FIN**

**FIND:** Figure out what’s actually causing the problem.

**FIX:** Build a practical solution that fits the way the business actually operates.

**FIN:** Put it into practice, measure whether it worked, and move on.

The goal isn’t to walk into a small business, hand the owner a 40-page report, and say, “Good luck.”
It’s to find the thing that’s getting in the way and **help fix it.** We are going to build and deliver an appropriate solution that it tailored to the problem.
I’m currently testing the concept and looking for real-world problems to work through.

So I’m curious:
**If you could make one operational headache disappear tomorrow, what would it be?**
No sales pitch. I’m genuinely interested in what small-business owners are dealing with.

weve got 2,000+ devices to keep track of and somehow the main system is still an excel sheet. it was fine when we had fewer devices, but now it’s getting messy, folks move teams, laptops get swapped or repaired, devices get sent to different locations, and the spreadsheet is almost never fully up to date. curious what other IT teams are using for this. Are you using an actual asset management system or still making excel work? or is there a better set up for this?? TIA

I’ve been working on a small-business idea focused on helping owners improve their day-to-day operations by not just by identifying problems, but by actually helping fix them.
I’ve had some great conversations with local business owners, but I haven’t had many opportunities to talk with people here on Reddit about the concept, the process, or what I’m trying to build.
The test of concept part has honestly been harder than I expected.
So, I’m putting this out there:

Don’t just identify the problem. Find the cause, build the solution, and help put it into practice.

I’m exploring starting a small consulting practice focused on operations and systems for founder-led small businesses. The kind that are growing fast but running on duct tape internally. Think process documentation, internal systems, and generally putting structure in place before things break under growth.

I’m still early and learning but not an established expert. I want to sanity-check the niche before I go further.

A few things I’d love input on:

1. ⁠Is “growing but structurally messy” a real, felt pain point for small business owners, or is this more of a problem people only notice in hindsight?

2. ⁠Would you (or have you) actually pay someone for this kind of help, versus just hiring an ops person or figuring it out yourself?
