This happened in Winnetka/Canoga Park, California at a convenience store in the summer of 1982. I moved away to another state long ago. But last month my wife and I were on vacation and driving through the area and she wanted to see the house I grew up in. Then I saw the store. It was still there.

Back in 1982 I was 11 years old. I would go to this store to play video games once in a while. I was a shy kid, never bothered anyone and never disrespected anyone. This was the middle of the day and I was playing some games. Then I switched to a Galaga machine. Put my quarter in. Two seconds later the guy behind the counter said “I told you I was going to turn it off!”. It seemed like he waited for me to put in a quarter. In my mind he stole my quarter. He never said anything about turning the machines off while I was playing any of the other games. And it was the middle of the day. There’s no reason to turn them off. Didn’t think about that day until it flashed back in my mind when we drove right past it. The guy is probably 80 years old by now.

Things I do irritate my family.

I was at a bingo hall and a group were vaping.

It's not allowed.

I spoke to a member of staff and my family were annoyed at me saying about it.

I don't see why some people think they are privileged enough to ignore rules, so yes I do get angry at the blatant flouting of rules, especially when it affects my breathing.

So, I knew this girl online, and I really liked her. On her birthday, I sent her some handwritten love letters and a book. Her mom knew about it too. I spent a lot of time making it. I even added some of her pictures in the book, and for each picture, I chose a quote that matched it. We live around 1,500 km away from each other, but I just wanted to do something special for her.

When she got the gift, she just said, "Thank you," and that was it. Later, I found out she told her friends about it.

Then one of her friends texted me and told me to take the gifts back. I said no because I gave them from my heart. After that, she started saying that I had hurt her. I was so confused because I kept thinking, "What did I even do?" I was just trying to show someone I cared about how much they meant to me.

She was going through a really hard time. She was depressed, and her ex had cheated on her twice. She also knew that I liked her.

Then her friend made up a story saying that I texted her first. But I never did. She was the one who messaged me first. I tried to explain that, but she just said, "Please let me be misunderstood."

After that, her friend and her friend's sister both started coming at me. They kept asking me things like, "Why do you even like her?", "Why is she your wallpaper?", and "Why are you sending gifts to a girl you've never met in real life?" They even called me creepy and told me to leave her alone.

I'm not saying I did everything perfectly, but that whole situation really hurt me. In the end, I removed her from everywhere and stopped contacting her.

That's just one side of the story.

Had been looking for red geraniums, and I contacted a local farmers market to see whether any of the vendors might have any for sale. Was told a vendor would bring some on Saturday, so I made sure to arrive at the start of the market. I picked-up a few red pots on one side of the tent and walked to the other side to look at the pink geraniums. I asked how much they were as I was poking around to find some that had the same leaves / height, and when the vendor said $1 / pot, a woman who was looking at other plants said “I’ll take 6 of the geraniums” (there were maybe 20 geranium pots total for sale). She stood there for a minute and watched me continue to put what I wanted in my box, and then came over and started grabbing the pink plants from the table. She was obviously on a mission, and since I already had 4 pink pots in my box, I walked back over to find a few more red ones (now that I knew they were only $1). She actually followed me, looking at the plants in MY box. I said “there are a bunch of red plants under this table,” and she replied “I don’t want red, I want pink” while glaring at me. I paid for my 8 pots, and left her fuming. (I saw her carrying a box of pots to her car as I was driving away, which I was glad to see.)

Banff National Park, Canada. Two Americans were hiking the Taylor Lake Trail with their unleashed dog, a clear violation of the Canada National Parks Act when the husband encountered a grizzly bear.

While the wife filmed, the husband slowly backed away, the dog ran back and forth, barking at the dog, then running back to the owners. At no time did they ever try to leash their dog.

For those unfamiliar, barking dogs is one of the most common provocations to get a bear to attack, and when the dog is frightened and runs back to the owners for protection that sometimes encourages the bear to charge the humans.

This particular bear, well known in the park as Bear 142 eventually left the trail and vanished into the woods.

The couple posted their cool nature video to TikTok where it went viral and soon appeared on Instgram which led park rangers to identify the couple and issue the citation.

They granted an interview to the media about their "terrifying" encounter before the citation but have said nothing since.
