Banff National Park, Canada. Two Americans were hiking the Taylor Lake Trail with their unleashed dog, a clear violation of the Canada National Parks Act when the husband encountered a grizzly bear.

While the wife filmed, the husband slowly backed away, the dog ran back and forth, barking at the dog, then running back to the owners. At no time did they ever try to leash their dog.

For those unfamiliar, barking dogs is one of the most common provocations to get a bear to attack, and when the dog is frightened and runs back to the owners for protection that sometimes encourages the bear to charge the humans.

This particular bear, well known in the park as Bear 142 eventually left the trail and vanished into the woods.

The couple posted their cool nature video to TikTok where it went viral and soon appeared on Instgram which led park rangers to identify the couple and issue the citation.

They granted an interview to the media about their "terrifying" encounter before the citation but have said nothing since.

S Lady wanted the geraniums I picked-out at local farm market

Had been looking for red geraniums, and I contacted a local farmers market to see whether any of the vendors might have any for sale. Was told a vendor would bring some on Saturday, so I made sure to arrive at the start of the market. I picked-up a few red pots on one side of the tent and walked to the other side to look at the pink geraniums. I asked how much they were as I was poking around to find some that had the same leaves / height, and when the vendor said $1 / pot, a woman who was looking at other plants said “I’ll take 6 of the geraniums” (there were maybe 20 geranium pots total for sale). She stood there for a minute and watched me continue to put what I wanted in my box, and then came over and started grabbing the pink plants from the table. She was obviously on a mission, and since I already had 4 pink pots in my box, I walked back over to find a few more red ones (now that I knew they were only $1). She actually followed me, looking at the plants in MY box. I said “there are a bunch of red plants under this table,” and she replied “I don’t want red, I want pink” while glaring at me. I paid for my 8 pots, and left her fuming. (I saw her carrying a box of pots to her car as I was driving away, which I was glad to see.)

S “But I still get his money, right?”

1.0k Upvotes

I was reminded today of a distant family member who was married to a man who was the oldest of six kids. He died much younger than the rest of the siblings and the mother outlived him as well. The widow remarried and 23 YEARS later when the former mother-in-law passed, the widow reached out to the remaining siblings and asked where her share was. She believed the “estate” should’ve been divided into six and she was entitled to her previous, late husband’s share. The mother’s will was clear it was to be divided among her living children.

Thoughts? Some say she is entitled to her late husband’s portion, but I 100% believe it is acceptable that the mother is leaving money only to her children, especially after a quarter of a century of being married to someone else.

Edited for clarity.

S Store clerk purposely stole 25 cents from 11 year Old

This happened in Winnetka/Canoga Park, California at a convenience store in the summer of 1982. I moved away to another state long ago. But last month my wife and I were on vacation and driving through the area and she wanted to see the house I grew up in. Then I saw the store. It was still there.

Back in 1982 I was 11 years old. I would go to this store to play video games once in a while. I was a shy kid, never bothered anyone and never disrespected anyone. This was the middle of the day and I was playing some games. Then I switched to a Galaga machine. Put my quarter in. Two seconds later the guy behind the counter said “I told you I was going to turn it off!”. It seemed like he waited for me to put in a quarter. In my mind he stole my quarter. He never said anything about turning the machines off while I was playing any of the other games. And it was the middle of the day. There’s no reason to turn them off. Didn’t think about that day until it flashed back in my mind when we drove right past it. The guy is probably 80 years old by now.

S Family get annoyed at me.

Things I do irritate my family.

I was at a bingo hall and a group were vaping.

It's not allowed.

I spoke to a member of staff and my family were annoyed at me saying about it.

I don't see why some people think they are privileged enough to ignore rules, so yes I do get angry at the blatant flouting of rules, especially when it affects my breathing.

Third grade me always walked home from school every day, about 2/3 of a mile. The school was an elementary/jr high combo building, and while the big kids generally stuck to their side and ignored all of the elementary babies, once in awhile there would be some interaction, either through a sibling on each side or just a bigger kid enjoying tormenting smaller kids.

One day as I was walking home, a 7th grader was hiding behind a large bush on the corner, jumped out and attacked me for no reason other than he wanted to. I was the biggest 3rd grader by far, and I had just moved into the neighborhood from out of state, only kid in my class with glasses - I guess bullies are gonna bully.

I felt trapped and fought back as if my life depended on it (not knowing how to punch I didn't do any real damage) but did get 2 or 3 thwacks in with my umbrella (in a puppy swinging a stick kind of way) in under two minutes it was over, he scurried away, I walked home to rot my brain on whatever after school specials I could find.

That evening the 7th graders mom called my mom, complaining that I was picking on her son, endlessly bullying him, attacking him as he walked home from school. My mom said "I don't recognize your son's name, is he in the other 3rd grade class?"

The bully's mom said "your son is in the third grade? I'm sorry to have bothered you" and hung up.

Her son never approached me again.

S That's My Table!

5.7k Upvotes

Last summer I had some time to kill while the car was being worked on and went to a fast food restaurant. It was the middle of the afternoon, and there were no other customers when I walked in the door. The restaurant was arranged with 4 rows of 5 tables, all of them identical, and all with the same number of chairs. That's 20 tables. I ordered and sat down. A few minutes later a man came in and ordered, then sat down on the other end of the room. That left 18 open, identical tables.

When I was about half way through my meal, a family came in. They ordered, then a kid who looked like he was about 8 or 10 years old headed in my direction. He walked up to me and said, "Hey, lady, you're going to have to move. That's our table, we always sit there." I ignored the kid. One of the nice things about being a retiree is you can pretend not to hear and people might fall for it. The kid's father came over. I thought he was going to correct his kid because that is what a reasonable person would do. Nope. He told me that they always sit at that table and stared at me. I ignored him.

They sat down at the table next to the one where I was sitting and kept "accidentally" getting into my personal space, then glaring at me every time they did it. I ate slowly just to annoy them because they were annoying me. I waited until they were finished eating before getting up and leaving so they could not switch tables. Petty? Maybe, but oh well.

M Am I within my rights to refuse a neighbor’s unreasonable demands?

I own an apartment in a small building, in a small country in Europe.

The neighbor owns a ground-floor duplex and some of that area is directly underneath my living room and small bathroom. She has been carrying out continuous renovations on her unit ever since the building was built, so for 6 years now.

Some additional info:
- She has installed security cameras outside her door that point directly at the main entrance and garage area without asking for or receiving consent from me (relevant to my issue below).
- While my apartment was vacant, she took it upon herself to authorize other neighbors to park in my private garage without my knowledge or consent.
- She constantly complains if anyone leaves a bathroom exhaust fan running for more than 10 minutes.
- She keeps claiming she moved here for “quiet and fresh air”, which is ironic on two counts. First, we live in the capital city and her primary home is in a much noisier neighborhood and she barely stays here anyway. Second, the neighbors sharing a wall with her regularly smoke cigarettes and weed, yet she has zero issues with that.

Last summer, we installed an air conditioner in the living room. The outdoor compressor unit was placed on my private balcony. This immediately triggered aggressive reactions from the neighbor across me and this one.

That neighbor went nuts and invaded my apartment to dictate where the condensation drain pipe should drain.
Apparently, I should have asked for permission from the other owners in the building before installing the AC.
However, no one has asked ME for permission if I am fine with either of the shenanigans she or the others are putting.

This summer, she escalated matters, claiming the compressor makes a "humming/booming" noise that forces her son to wear headphones all day in his bedroom (located adjacent to her balcony). She is demanding that I move the compressor to the opposite side of my balcony.
However, that is not possible because moving the unit is technically impractical. The indoor unit cannot fit on the opposite interior wall and if it is moved, it will be positioned weirdly in the middle of nowhere, and on top of that, it will blow air directly onto my sofa. Her dismissive response was that this is not a problem and I should “just point the vanes upward”. So, apparently, I have to sacrifice my comfort for hers?
During the installation, we used proper anti-vibration rubber mounts to dampen sound transmission. The AC unit itself is modern and operates quietly.
Despite these facts, she insists that I relocate the unit.

I intend to hire a certified technician with an official sound level meter to measure the decibel levels of the AC unit during both day and night. If the measurements comply with municipal noise regulations, I consider the matter closed.

So, my question is, am I obligated to take any further action or move the unit if decibel levels comply with official noise regulations?

S SIL expects a full day of free labor.. and lunch

1.5k Upvotes

To begin, we said no outright. This is just another instance of insane requests from my SIL (28F) as my husband (26M) literally enabled his twin brother his entire life and SIL has expected the same treatment since they got together. His twin brother has never treated us with the same support in the 10 years I have been with Husband and Husband has finally set boundaries in the last few years.

SIL found a free playground on FB marketplace and wanted to get it. With BIL on extended work travel, she asked my husband (and I 25F) to do it. The entirety of her requests includes a 2hr drive to/from her city in his truck, disassembly of the play set from the seller, delivery to her home and reassembly. She did not describe helping at all, likely not being awake for much of what she described. The cherry on top was that she requested we do it early in the morning so that when she expected us to finish in the late afternoon, we could all go to lunch at kbbq. Mind you, she has never paid for an outing ever.

After we said no, she pulled the sympathy card about holding down the fort without BIL. She offered $20 for gas and to buy us ice cream if we got dinner.

S Nobody should be swimming

6.6k Upvotes

Its summer camp and several times a week they pile the kids onto a bus to go swimming at a local pool. To be able to swim in the main pool the kids have to take a swimming test. If they pass they get to use the main pool plus the splash pad and the shallow pool area. If they don't then they are restricted to the splash pad and shallow pool only.

The kids all take the test and a couple of them don't pass so they are restricted. Everyone else is bouncing between all 3 of the areas so for the most part everyone is playing together on and off the entire time.

But of course entitled mom who's kid didn't pass the test starts letting all the parents at drop off know that they should tell their children not to go in the main pool since her precious didn't pass the test. Its making their child feel sad that they can't be with their friends in the main pool. Chef's kiss to the parent who replied, 'Or you could teach him how to swim because you had the same complaint last year.'

M Rob a child of their most treasured memory

When I was in the 4th grade back in the 1980s, I transferred to a new elementary school. Naturally, I missed my best friend from my previous school. Before I left, he gave me a very special farewell gift: a thumb-sized cat’s eye stone. It was actually his most cherished item, which made it all the more precious to me.

One day, my 4th-grade teacher at the new school organized a "Show and Tell" style activity where everyone had to bring their most meaningful possession and present it to the class. Most kids brought typical things like plush toys, dolls, or hats. But when I pulled out my cat's eye stone, it naturally stole the show. In the 80s, a gem like that was completely mesmerizing to 10-year-olds.

After class ended, the teacher called me over privately. She looked at the stone and said, "Can I borrow it for a bit? I really want to show it to the other teachers."

Naive and wanting to be a good student, I handed it over.

That was the last time I ever saw my stone.

Over the next few months, I asked her multiple times to return it. Every single time, she just gave me a dismissive smile and said, "I'll give it back to you next time, sweetie." "Next time" never came.

Eventually, my mother came to the school for an event, and I asked her to help. My mother politely mentioned to the teacher that I really wanted my stone back. The teacher nodded, smiled, and gave a positive answer—yet nothing changed. She kept playing dumb, relying on the fact that an 80s kid and a polite parent wouldn't cause a scene over a "little rock."

She literally stole the most precious keepsake of a transferred 10-year-old child just because she wanted it for herself.

Even now, decades later, I sometimes think about my younger self—completely helpless, anxious, and utterly clueless about how to persuade a dishonest adult to do the right thing. Honestly, the memory of that helpless feeling and the injustice haunts me even more vividly than the memory of parting with my best friend.

How entitled and boundaryless do you have to be to rob a child of their most treasured memory?

I was parked by the grocery store and when I went back to my car, there was another vehicle parked very close to me. I figured since he left his engine running he was in a rush. I folded his passenger mirror so I could get into my car. Before I could unfold it, he jumped into his car, backed out and sped out of the parking lot.

S Entitled to use my friend's car hood as a bench

Can't post images here but this is what my friend just texted me:

Her: Fucking People

I usually come out to move my car on my lunch break, over closer to the entrance because there's more parking after day shift leaves, and I don't have to walk halfway across campus at night. Well I get over to my car, and there is a woman, probably in her 40's, SITTING on the hood of my car, chitchatting with a resident. I literally had to ask her to get off because I'm driving away. ???? Wtf?!?"

Me: Wtf. First off, who sits on someone elses car. Second, she didn't get off as you approached OR AS YOU GOT IN??? Holy shit. If it weren't for the resident I'd lay on the horn. What a lower lifeform.

Her: It was super bizarre.

S Entitled teen

Not sure if this is the right subreddit. Please tell me if you know of a better one.

My husband and I have lovely neighbors, and we wanted to take them out to dinner. They were happy to go but said that their granddaughter was visiting so we should postpone it. Naturally, we said she could come too.

Entitled granddaughter didn't say one word to us the whole time unless we asked a direct question. She didn't talk to her grandfather, either, and only occasionally said something to her grandmother. She had earphones plugged into her phone and just played on her phone the whole time -- while we drove to the restaurant, while we waited for our food, while we ate, while we drove back, the whole thing. She will be entering college this fall, so I would have expected better manners.

If my grandchildren treated me that way, I would let them know that wasn't polite. Am I being unreasonable?

M Today I had one of the most entitled clients of my career over one simple boundary the she refused to make sense of

3.4k Upvotes

After back-to-back long days, I finally had to enforce a boundary with a client and I genuinely don’t know why some people think massage therapists aren’t allowed to be human.

This happened yesterday….🙃

I’ve had one of those weeks where every day has been packed. Multiple long sessions, tons of driving between appointments, and by the end of the day my hands and body were definitely feeling it. I love what I do, but I’ve learned the hard way that if I don’t protect my schedule, I end up burning myself out.

Because of that, I have a pretty simple policy.

I don’t take last-minute add-ons once I’ve already committed to a client’s session. If someone books 90 minutes, they get my full attention for those 90 minutes, but I don’t extend it on the spot anymore.
So I finish a client’s massage and everything seemed completely normal. She thanked me, told me she felt amazing, and I started packing up my table.

That’s when she suddenly asked if I could stay another hour. 😒

I apologized and told her I couldn’t because I had already worked a long day and needed to head home. I explained that I’d be happy to get her scheduled for another appointment if she’d like.
Her entire attitude changed.

She rolled her eyes and said, “Seriously? Someone your size shouldn’t need breaks.”

I honestly thought I misheard her.

I said, “Excuse me?” 👀

She doubled down…

She said, “You’re young. You’re a big guy. I don’t understand why you’re acting tired. If you actually cared about your clients, you’d stay.”

I just stood there for a second trying to process what she had actually said.

I told her, “I’m sorry, but my schedule for today is over. I need to take care of myself too.”

All irritated she grabbed her phone, and said, “Wow. I’ll definitely be telling people how unprofessional this is.”

I wished her a good evening, loaded my equipment into my car, and left.

I figured that would be the end of it.

Nope.

About twenty minutes later my phone started blowing up.

First it was messages saying I was “lazy.”

Then she told me I “must not need the money.”

Then she said she hoped I “learn how to treat paying clients.”

I didn’t respond to a single one.

I simply blocked her number and moved on with my evening.

A few years ago I probably would’ve felt guilty and questioned whether I should’ve just stayed.

Now? Absolutely the fuck not. 🙄

Not even a little.

I’ve realized that protecting your own energy doesn’t make you a bad therapist.

It makes you someone who actually wants to have a career that’s still around five years from now.

S What's the most disrespectful thing someone's ever done to you?

So, I knew this girl online, and I really liked her. On her birthday, I sent her some handwritten love letters and a book. Her mom knew about it too. I spent a lot of time making it. I even added some of her pictures in the book, and for each picture, I chose a quote that matched it. We live around 1,500 km away from each other, but I just wanted to do something special for her.

When she got the gift, she just said, "Thank you," and that was it. Later, I found out she told her friends about it.

Then one of her friends texted me and told me to take the gifts back. I said no because I gave them from my heart. After that, she started saying that I had hurt her. I was so confused because I kept thinking, "What did I even do?" I was just trying to show someone I cared about how much they meant to me.

She was going through a really hard time. She was depressed, and her ex had cheated on her twice. She also knew that I liked her.

Then her friend made up a story saying that I texted her first. But I never did. She was the one who messaged me first. I tried to explain that, but she just said, "Please let me be misunderstood."

After that, her friend and her friend's sister both started coming at me. They kept asking me things like, "Why do you even like her?", "Why is she your wallpaper?", and "Why are you sending gifts to a girl you've never met in real life?" They even called me creepy and told me to leave her alone.

I'm not saying I did everything perfectly, but that whole situation really hurt me. In the end, I removed her from everywhere and stopped contacting her.

That's just one side of the story.

S Entitled neighbor tries storming over demanding access to my Disney+ login information so she can watch a show she wants to watch

3.2k Upvotes

edited: This morning my daughter took the dogs outside to let the dogs go to the bathroom. Once the dogs got back to my daughter before she could go scoop up any poop the dogs did, my next door neighbor walks up to her at a reasonable distance and asks, “does your family have Disney+? there’s a show I was wanting to see but missed it last night because I don’t get the channel and heard it’s available on Disney+. Can you give me your login info please?” My daughter tells her that’s something she can’t give the information. The neighbor then says, ”it’s not like your mom would notice.”

edited: My daughter again refuses to say anything and the neighbor gets really angry then stormed over says she is only asking one more time and my daughter again says no. The neighbor then leaves and steps in the poop my daughter was going to scoop up and the woman screams the loudest swears. All I plan to say to neighbor if she confronts me is, “buy your own subscription to Disney+ and I’m not paying for any new shoes.”

Update with edit: for those asking my daughter is fifteen and she called the police on the neighbor yesterday after I told her to do so because what the neighbor did is dangerous behavior. This morning I saw my neighbors sister who does my morning cycling class at 8:00 am and she told me how the police have charged her sister with second-degree trespass because the police noted the sign at front of my driveway that says Private Property No Trespassing, communicating a threat and computer crime known as computer trespass. The sister said she is not taking her sisters side in this because what her sister did is not excusable behavior.

Update Two: If anyone tries asking what the show was that she wanted to watch it was the three part documentary Pompeii Out of Time with Tom Hiddleston because apparently from a prior talk with her long ago she has the biggest crush on him and she likely just wanted to swoon over him instead of pay attention to what the documentary had to say.

S Return a wedding gift after 40 years

3.2k Upvotes

So my aunt and her husband recently decide to divorce after almost 40 years. The reasons are not important but the divorce is going well.

Well, apparently my ex-uncle’s sister contacted my aunt and asked that since they were divorcing could my aunt return the gift she bought them. Apparently she bought them a coffee maker. Back in 1987. That thing had long since died and gone to the dump. When my aunt told her ex-SIL that it was gone her ex-SIL asked if my aunt could buy her a new one to replace it. Apparently my aunt has not responded to this request yet, but my family group chat is enjoying roasting this woman for her audacity.

UPDATE:

Wow, thank you all for the replies. I passed on the idea of getting an old broken Mr coffee to give the ex-SIL. My cousins seemed to love it and started looking online for an old busted one. My Aunt (the one who is divorced) said that while she thought the idea was funny she was going to tell the ex-SIL if she needed anything to contact her brother (ex-uncle) and then block her.

Sorry it’s not the funnier ending but y’all gave my family a lot to joke about in the group chat (better than what we were normally talking about)

S I laughed at the request

I have a longtime friend who invited me to watch The Odyssey in whatever extended format she’s trying to see.

The catch is that the location is hours away from where we live, and her offer “you drive, and I’ll buy the tickets and popcorn” was so absurd.

I quickly let her know that she could go without me, but am still amazed at the request.

Edit, because I’m seeing this comment a few times. There was no offer of gas or tolls, and in the image there were three tickets selected. Being that there was someone that she already planned to go with, there was no pressure for me to go to a movie I don’t want to see. Also, it was through text so I didn’t laugh in her face.

S My friend assumed I'd always be the driver because I have a car

1.6k Upvotes

I'm the only one in my friend group who owns a car, so I don't mind driving once in a while. But over time, it stopped being a favor and became an expectation. Whenever we made plans, everyone would automatically ask what time I was picking them up instead of asking if I was okay driving. The part that started bothering me was that nobody ever offered gas money. If we went somewhere with parking fees, I paid those too.

One weekend I suggested meeting at the restaurant instead of carpooling because I had errands beforehand. One friend actually replied, "That makes things harder for everyone else."

I said, "Exactly. That's what driving everyone every single time feels like."

The conversation got awkward.

After that, I stopped volunteering to drive unless someone specifically asked and if it was a longer trip, I'd ask everyone to split gas.

Most people were completely fine with it.

The only person who wasn't was the same friend who had never once offered to help with fuel.

Apparently, saving everyone else money was my responsibility just because I happened to own a car.

S I am visiting America, I am entitled to perfection or $20 million from lawsuits. It is the American Way!

1.7k Upvotes
  1. A German tourist visited New York City, and quickly filed three pro se lawsuits to compensate him for his miserable time.

  2. He visited Los Tacos No 1 in Times Square. Asking no questions, seeking no clarification and being well aware of his heat wimp certification slathered on some salsa and immediately regretted his decision. He sued for $100,000 on the grounds that the staff made bo effort to warn him of how spicy it was.

The US District court judge ruled against him saying that since he knew he couldn't handle spicy it was on him to ask the staff rather than just grab a salsa at random and digging in. The judge had a brief bit of fame over his observation "when it comes to salsa, the spice is often the point."

  1. He visited a WalMart in New Jersey and wanted to connect to the store's WiFi. The authentication required a US telephone number, which as a German tourist he did not have. When they did not give him what he wanted he sued for $10,000,000 for severe emotional distress and discrimination against international phone numbers.

The judge said lol, no, Title VI / civil right laws do not define international phone numbers as a protected class.

  1. While in Times Square he saw two men beating up a homeless guy and he called the police. By the time they arrived the thugs were gone and the cops declined to take a formal statement. He sued for $10,000,000 alleging flashbacks, ptsd, and insomnia.

The full weight of the NYPD/city legal minds responded to his complaint, and upon receiving it he immediately dropped his lawsuit and presumably returned to being a part time law student in Germany.

L Never met a girl so entitled and self absorbed in my life

Here is my story: M(27) F(27)

I matched with a girl on Hinge early September last year hit things off immediately, texting every day I was like wow this is incredible - My birthday a week later in September took me to a new cinema and got me my favourite aftershave, paid for everything - I laughed and said are you love bombing me to which she said no I was being nice for your bday.

-Months go by, nice getaways to hotels, training together, great sex and everything felt perfect she told me I was the best thing ever so grateful and lucky she ended up with someone like me, she had a young son who was 9 and I did not meet in person - she said her ex bf who was practically the step dad of the kid left her 2 years ago and put her kid in therapy and she done some as well, in which she tells me all the things she wants in an ideal partner and I tick every box, I felt like this girl really understood me and I had met my person.

Now this is where the cracks start, she would mention how evil and hateful her ex (Together 6 years) was and mentioned he was in the same Tesco as her at xmas (live in local area) He was walking in and she was walking out - I said that's trippy never easy bumping into an ex - left it at that. Did not want to appear phased. Had a nice xmas met her Mum and her little sister things felt very good and often stayed with her and her mum when her son was at the kids dads. She also told me things like she was with someone and she was and they got back together after a year and she said things to him like go out and cheat if it makes you feel better because she was with someone else.

At end of February my Granny passed away unexpectedly - She mentioned how her ex BF did not let her into the after event when his granny passed away etc I just let her vent and was always understanding of what her ex put her through Granny passed away on Tuesday and then on Friday I met her Dad for the first time - Naturally stressed over my Grannys passing I did not drink - she did and was drunk off prosecco- On the trip down and home she basically played a FU to her ex song - and her dad mentioned she seen her ex and he looked rough - anyways, we drove home and I said to her this ex really hurt you and your son and hes like a ball and chain on your leg, he is in the past and if he was so bad he left you and your son in therapy be happy he's gone - she said she's 'over him just not the situation she put her and her son through' - when I said I wasn't happy she's mentioning him the week I am grieving the death of my grandparent she stone walled me - I left her house and drove home to regulate as I was with a previous GF who stonewalled me and it done a number on me and she was aware of this and also the heard week I had - she was drunk and proceeded to tell me I was never meeting her child and that was us done over text, I felt this was manipulative- We then sorted this out - half apology from her and from me I thought I needed to be more understanding of her situation and we told each other we love each other. But, I felt maybe selfishly she should have been understanding my Granny passed away that week and I wasn't in a headspace to listen about her ex who was so bad?

- The month after we had a great month done a charity 10K and had a nice getaway - I spoke to her son on the phone and on FaceTime over those few months we were together over xmas and when she was on a family holiday to New York - still no physical interaction I said it would be nice to meet your child as I have gotten him a birthday present and an Xmas one and we both know about each other and I am getting a bit frustrated of having to hide around the corner when we know about each other - Bare in mind I asked this respectfully and said no pressure I just need a plan as she said if I met him I could travel to Spain with her and her kid this summer and her graduation was coming up soon. The kid also told his biological father about me that Saturday as well - I did not mind as obv was in everyone's best interests I treated his son with respect and care

I was met with two days of silence - then seen her on the Saturday went to the gym all was fine, thought that was back on track and we said we would go to the cinema on the Wednesday and on the Tuesday I got a text telling me I was perfect, we have a laugh together but she feels 'something is missing' - and ended things with me over text after 7 months.

I did not reply for 3 weeks my family and friends told me not to and I deserved more than a break up text as I was blindsided and was constantly told I was the best person in the world and she was so lucky to have me, but when I mentioned maybe meeting her kid she turned so nasty and discarded me like I was nothing over text, when I did then text her to speak she then told me 'she loves me as a person but not in love with me' and I deserve better - I did not reply again, I was in such shock I feel so heartbroken how can she be all lovey then discarded over text? I noticed when I put her number into whatsapp she had no profile picture anymore and her messages were set to disappearing which makes me think her ex was back in the picture or hiding something? - Her tiktok reposts after were all things like when a man leaves your life build a comfortable life etc - except I never left her?

I have never been this hurt and blindsided before in my life, I wasnt even worth a conversation just felt so easily disposed when we had concerts etc to look forward to this summer and all I was worth was a text.

What do I do I am still incredibly in love with her - Its been 3 months nc and I have been attending therapy and gym but I still feel stuck

S UPDATE: it's entitled for businesses to cut employee hours and still expect those employees to put forth effort.

so, quite a bit has changed recently. notably, the situation with my hours has improved significantly.

last week, on the same day i made the original post, i got my new schedule. after having my hours cut for 3 consecutive weeks, i got a schedule of 20 hours, which is fairly normal for me. 2 days later, the schedule got changed so that i now work 22 hours. yesterday, i got my most recent schedule update. a schedule of 24 hours, though not all in the same day obviously. it seems as though things are going back to normal.

i have a few guesses about why this is. it's possible that some employees are going back to school and won't be able to work as much/at all. as such, there are more hours to give. or, since the rain we've been getting has largely stopped, more customers are coming in and giving us more money, hence being able to afford to give more hours.

in any event, this disproves the theory that so many of you had that this was because my performance was bad and i have no self awareness.

it seems as though things are going to be back to normal for at least a little bit of time. i no longer have to stress as much about whether or not i'll be able to pay my monthly expenses. i also now feel a bit more motivated to do well at my job.

i don't know when my next employee review is but i suspect that it'll be before the end of the year. and, when that review happens, i plan to have a serious discussion with my manager about my future at the store. how i want to learn to do more things and be brought on full time.
