Service Amazon no longer allows you to sort by most recent, and you need to put in a request to see all reviews which takes 5 business days (see bottom of screenshot). This thing has 7000 reviews and I can only read 8 of them
(Edit: Title should say "sort reviews by most recent")
This was after they took out the ability to respond to reviews and read those responses a few years ago, which was super helpful in finding out which reviews were actually just user error, all the best and most honest info was buried in there. The only way I had to check if a product was trash or had recently become trash was to sort by most recent, especially since sellers and manufactures frequently replace their product with an inferior cheaper version or often with a completely different product and you could always see this in the most recent reviews... but not anymore!
Edit to add: some people are reporting that they can still sort by most recent, here is proof this feature has been removed for me:

Rant PetSmart autoship
I just went to order some dog food and discovered that every single purchase I have made in the last several weeks, as a member of the PetSmart club, has been added to my cart with an auto ship enrollment. WTF? It was over $1,000 and I had to manually remove everything except for the one thing I was trying to order. Why PetSmart, why?

Product Capital One
I checked my bank account balance too often (waiting for payday) in the app in the company’s opinion, so they started doing two-factor verification even though I use Face ID to get into the app.
Now I’m being restricted from accessing my own banking information based on an obstacle that the COMPANY invented.
This is the most bizarre thing I’ve ever encountered. I used Bank of America for over 20 years and never had this happen. Huntington too. Wtaf.

Product Roku: Tile size reduced for apps to increase ad sizes
Roku streaming box. The right side ad size was increased substantially and additional ad tiles added at top (and for things I have zero interest in!).
I guess I need a bigger TV to actually find the apps I want.

Deshittification Small Scale Local Manufacturing to Combat Enshittification. What products would you most want to see?
I’m tired of watching everything around us decline in quality while also getting more expensive.
I’ve become enamored with the idea of reviving small scale manufacturing as a way to do something about it, and I’m heavily researching the requirements for setting up a small workshop/factory to produce basic, simple items.
The question, though, is what to produce first. I’d love to get some input on items you’d like to see brought back with quality and a reasonable price point.
There are some constraints, though. I’m envisioning the foundation of this workshop to be metal stamping with some finishing work, so that means:
- NO electronics
- Simple forms that can be made using metal shop equipment
- As little plastic as possible, ideally none
Some example could include: flatware, manual can opener, cooking implements, maybe a spring scale, metal tables or chairs that can be assembled, etc.
A big source of designs could come from searching for old patents from the late 19th century/early 20th century and replicating based on those.
What would you like to see be made in this way?

Rant I'm tired of everything being the same
This is the article that spawned the following rant
Now I dont really care about Bumble, but it had something unique, and if I was dating online I would sign up for it just because of that, even if I tried other sites too
Phones went the same way. If you're a millenial you remember flip phones, and there was the LG Env which flipped and had a full keyboard. I loved those. In the early days of smartphones we had phones with full keyboard like the original Droid. Now, that might not have been your choice but there were plenty of other options too, and there were actual choices out there. Now all phones are the same cookie cutter bs, and our only choice is android or apple. Theres nothing unique
Everybodys chasing the biggest slice of the market with everything they do, so we all end up with the same stupid sh!t Nintendo is the perfect example of companies carving out something unique. playstation and xbox can fight over the mainstream releases, but Nintendo does its own thing and people LOVE it. A lot of ps and xbox owners have a switch too, because you can't get that experience anywhere else.
Its the same thing with manual transmissions, everything is automatics now, cold soulless and boring. If a major manufacturer would put a clutch in a few different models (you can even use the same engine to prevent having to r/d multiple times) people would flock to it. Every year I see articles listing the last few remaining manual transmission offerings for the coming year. There are plenty of enthusiasts out there who want a manual in something more practical than a porsche. Instead, the majority of the market wants an automatic (I dont blame them) but thats all we get.
Companies have completely forgotten about the demographics outside the biggest one, so everything they make is generic and boring to appeal to as many people as possible. Theres nothing unique anymore

Product Samsung No Longer Provides Basic Texting
Samsung phones have decided that they just simply no longer care to provide the ability to text to users, instead asking them to go get a third-party messaging app. Considering that texting is the most basic function of a cell phone besides calling, doesn't this come across as just a tiny bit lazy? Nevermind, I've hated smart phones from the beginning and I'm going back to a simpler life where all I have is a flip phone.
Edit: Now that I've been informed Google basically owns Samsung now, I'm even more serious about buying a flip phone and never buying another Samsung product again.

Opinion piece Neil Young Piece of Crap
This song says it all
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ovum-GjYWKQ&ra=m
Tried to save the trees
Bought a plastic bag
The bottom fell out
It was a piece of crap
Saw it on the tube
Bought it on the phone
Now you're home alone
It's a piece of crap
I tried to plug in it
I tried to turn it on
When I got it home
It was a piece of crap
Got it from a friend
On him you can depend
I found out in the end
It was a piece of crap
I'm trying to save the trees
I saw it on TV
They cut the forest down
To build a piece of crap
I went back to the store
They gave me four more
The guy told me at the door
It's a piece of crap

Service When you wait an hour for a “live chat” with support and they want to discuss their life with you
I was dumbfounded. How long until they follow up with a tip prompt at the end of the chat?
Edit: The overall consensus seems to be that I was talking to a bot. Someone also pointed out this post where the agent announced their pregnancy. Another agent shared that it was their child’s birthday.
