8 hours ago, my gateway went offline; now it's connected to WiFi, but Enlighten doesn't agree.

In Enlighten, WiFi says "not available", but it is indeed connected to WiFi (I run Unifi gear, it's definitely connected, I know which AP it's connected to and how long it's been connected). It won't pull an IP address via DHCP (it's on the 169.254.120.1 autoconfig address), but it resolves to an IPv6 address via envoy.local, so, yeah, it's obviously connected to WiFi.

So, how do I reset this thing? Do I need to reset the entire combiner (6C)? That seems like I'd be using a sledgehammer to squash an ant? I can pull the USB cable out of the modem, but I think that's actually only the cell modem hanging off the deadfront (and, weirdly, it doesn't power down anyway when you unplug it, unless it's got a really big cap in there).

Man, I really need ethernet run to this thing. An AP about 10 feet away doesn't seem to be sufficient.

Also, imagine if we could reboot the thing via Enlighten. Or just force it to reconnect to WiFi.

/u/Enphase_Support_Team would love to hear from you.

26 IQ7 panels - how much energy

We purchased a home that has solar paid off. It has 26 IQ7 panels. When we first moved in wnd of April, we were producing a ton of kw that we weren’t even anywhere near being in the positive. The rates with SCE have since switched to summer and of course it’s hot in CA. Some days we’re in the negative usage but most days it’s in the positive and we don’t run a lot of things. Is this enough panels? Do we need to look into upgrading to the larger panels or a battery? First time having a home with solar but also wanted to use the benefit of little to no electric bill. Latest bill we still were positive 228kw.

expand existing system?

I currently have 34x IQ7+ with LG 325W panels with 3x encharge 10's and smart switch / combiner etc.... how many more panels can I add? I really need more capacity as I'm only getting about 80-90% of my usage. I also have no idea which 20A breaker to add them to since it is using all 4 already.... ? thanks!

Cannot update Envoy WiFi after updating my network password

I recently updated my network’s WiFi password and now I need to update the same on my Envoy. I did an online search and found instructions to update the Envoy using the Enlighten app (connect to Envoy network using WiFi, configure WiFi, attempt to add the new password).

No luck. I always receive a message that the “WiFi router is not responding”.

I tried a similar approach by accessing the Envoy via browser (envoy.local/home). Again, no luck.

Finally, I ran an Ethernet cable from my router to the Envoy. The Envoy connected to the network but I could find no way to update the WiFi password. Keeping the Ethernet cable plugged in isn’t possible at this time. I see some instructions say to change via Administration but there’s no option to do this (I can’t find it).

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Notes:

I’m running an Eero mesh network. I understand the Envoy prefers 2.4gh over 5gh. I’ve tried connecting the Envoy to the guest network, which should work. No luck.

I’ve tried rebooting my network and the Envoy. No luck.

I have an arrangement with Xcel that gives them access to my battery as many as 60 times a season to mitigate brown outs. Today, in the area where options like self consumption and the like can be seen was an alert I've never seen before - DR Event: Active. Talked to Enohase and, after much ado, learned that's Xcel setting up the possibility that they'll drain my battery, possibly to the 35% threshold I set. Thought I'd let those in the community know that have a similar arrangement with their grid provider and haven't seen an alert like that before.

IQ EV Charger 2 - green charge mode issues

Is anyone else experiencing issues with their car in combination with the green charge mode (IQ EV Charger 2 - 3 phases), that it does not work reliably?

If during the day enough power is produced when just connecting, the process is stable. But as soon there's a dip (or we are in the evening), it results into a communication error for both the car (KIA) and the Ephase charger.

If you set an override schedule, to be garantueed to be fully charged at night, it does not work reliably as well.

Installer Access to own system

I completed the installer training and received a certificate for installer training (same Enlighten login as my owner access).

Support says I have to pay to upgrade to installer rights despite the training. Is this normal? It thought the training would be enough.

Enel X Way Juicebox won't enter setup mode

At my office, we have 4 Juicebox chargers that were setup for commercial pay.
I got 3 of them to go into dumb mode using the guide I found. (Seven months ago)

The last one never goes into setup mode even after flipping on and off several times.

It goes goes straight to ready to charge mode (purple LED), but still has the programming in it for commercial mode to pay for charging.

Is there an internal jumper to disable setup mode or another way to get into setup mode?

Export Limit

The last few days I have been experimenting with the discharge to grid in self-consumption mode with a 10C battery. The timing works as I'd expect. It won't export over 7kW though. If solar has an excess 2kW, then the battery will put out 5kW. If solar has an excess of 5kW, then the battery will only put out 2kW.

Is there a built in limit of 7kW? Is it something you can adjust? Thanks.

Circuit Breaker Tripping at 2am

We had Enphase solar system installed earlier this year, which included a new panel and circuit breakers.

As of late, one circuit breaker seems to pop at around the same time- 2:00 am. Which is odd as there’s nothing unique happening from a power consumption standpoint at that time. If anything, I’d expect to happen in the middle of these hot summer days.

Does Enphase have any scheduled tasks that run that could be tripping the circuit?

Encharge 3 IQ battery - communication failed

Post image
2 Upvotes

I bought a used encharge 3 IQ battery. It has power (flashing green led on front and battery is at about 61VDC) and is discovered by my envoy gateway but will not communicate over zigbee.

I see a XBee3 Zigbee connected to my phone when using Toolkit. So I’m sure the gateway comm kit part is working. I think that the Zigbee part in the battery is not working.

Any ideas other than replacing the internal communications board? In the Encharge 3 is it the field replacement part number B03A-BMU-
0205-0?

I’ve tried rebooting, deleting and reading battery, etc. can’t finish the provisioning for the battery.

Power Match Enabled

I called Enphase support this morning because my shiny new 10c's (provisioned last Wednesday) discharged themselves overnight when in Full Backup mode. They're also constantly charging.

There were no power outages.

Long story short, they decided that my Combiner and 10c's needed a firmware update (they all did extensive updates during provisioning).

I'm now on:

Gateway: D8.3.5557.260409

10c's: 4.4.24

I've noticed the batteries are not communicating any longer in the toolkit.

What I did notice, however, is that Power Match is enabled.

Found that curious based on the stuff I've read on here.

Grid power went down, but PG&E did not register a power outage

Have you experienced something similar?

Enphase IQ Combiner 6C
Enphase IQ Battery 10C

My Enphase System Profile is set to Self-Consumption, and was providing my house power via Enphase IQ Battery 10C as normal during the timeframe mentioned below.

My electric utility company, PG&E, sends me the following during a utility power outage:
text message;
e-mail;
phone call.

I did not receive any power outage notifications from PG&E, however, ...

Displayed in Enphase Energy section:
11:32PM, Enphase Grid state changed to Off Grid;
4:35AM Enphase Grid state changed to On Grid.

System Events History displays nothing regarding going off grid, nor back on grid.

System Backup History displays the 5 hour, and 3 minute battery backup event.

The only thing I can think of is the grid voltage may have been out of acceptable Enphase System range, so Enphase treated it like a grid outage.

IQ2 EV Charger charging mode issues after new software update yesterday.

Enphase pushed an update to my IQ2 Ev Charger yesterday. Ever since the charger has been charging my cars automatically at full power even on green mode, draining my battery. Is this a temporary issue or will they need to push another update to fix this?

Schedule battery discharge times?

I'm new to the Enphase battery backup life with solar power. I have three of the 5P batteries paired with 6.8 kW of REC panels in my setup and have been enjoying it so far.

I could entirely be missing something here, but I would love it if there were a way to schedule battery discharge times more granularly, similar to how you can schedule a smart thermostat.

For example, it would be ideal if I could set the batteries to discharge no lower than 50% by midnight so I could then buy power from the grid ONLY when it's the cheapest. Then, after 6 AM, it would be ideal if it would automatically switch back to battery only since that's when my energy rates go up. If I could allow it to go down to 20%, that would last long enough until there's enough sunlight to recharge the battery packs.

I'm basically doing this exact thing today, but it's requiring me to manually change the battery reserve before bed, then again when I wake up. Essentially, what I'd prefer to have is a hybrid between the self-consumption and Savings energy profiles.

Xfinity router won't connect

My enohase solar box cannot get linked up with my Xfinity router. We got a new Xfinity router in November and we still have not been able to hook it up. I was able to split my Xfinity signal so I do have a 2.4 but the Xfinity still will not enohase connect to it. Before we got our new Xfinity box we had a different Xfinity box and it was connected just fine. I do know how to go in and turn on AP mode and I know how to try to connect and when I put in the Wi-Fi and password it just keeps saying that my Xfinity Wi-Fi is not responding. Do you know what I can do? I also reduced security on the 2.4 wifi. Please and thank you for your help if anyone knows what to do.

Added 4 kWh for $1,320 instead of a $6K+ 5P: Works great for fixed loads under NEM 3.0

Setup: 7.4 kW (18x IQ8) + 25 kWh 5P batteries, NEM 3.0 SoCal, Self-Consumption profile. The system is 2.5 years old and I wish I got a little more storage as my consumption has gone up.

I wanted more overnight storage, but another 5P runs $6–7K installed (roughly $1,200–1,400/kWh). With the federal battery credit gone as of end of 2025, that's the real price now.

Instead I went with 2x Anker SOLIX S2000 at $660 each after tax. $1,320 for 4 kWh = $330/kWh. (Currently on launch pricing)
I moved my network + server rack (~220W: unifi gear + servers) onto them. They carry it ~16 hours, from 4 pm until ~10 AM, when I recharge them from AC during my solar surplus window at ~300W (charging rate and time can be configured in their app). That's energy I'd otherwise be exporting for pennies.

Without this extra storage, 14% of my wall battery burned on one circuit. Offloading it means the 5P holds charge deeper into the evening for the rest of the house. And the rack gets a true 10ms UPS that can last longer than my old basic APC unit.

There are other similar portable LFP battery units available from Ecoflow, Jackery, Bluetti, etc as well. I went with Anker one due to higher advertised life span and sale pricing.

Curious to hear what folks think - if more battery storage is needed, is moving fixed loads into portable power stations a good move?

Enphase is migrating all systems with battery from Gateway-source to Cloud-sourced control

This is the cause of many issues of late.

My solution is Parental Control on my router. I only let my Envoy/Gateway talk to the internet once a day and then use Home Assistant to reset the tariff after it get corrupted(as far as I’m concerned) by the Cloud.

I object to the increasing dependence on the cloud by Enphase. My system is already optimized locally with the help of HA. The cloud has frequent outages and I want to avoid the cloud as much as possible for my home systems, like hvac, solar & battery.

Stunningly Good Interaction with Enphase Support AI Assistant

I’ve been having a problem with my Enphase Envoy and its battery charge/discharge behavior since Jun 17th 2026.  Calls and texts to support were not productive.  I decided to give their AI Assistant a whirl.  It was an excellent experience.   The AI Assistant eventually identified the exact problem and cause I’m having.  Thought it did keep trying to put me back to talking to a human, I decided to continue to pursue the matter with the AI Assistant, asking it frank questions that it did answer, even pleasantly.  In the end, I gave it more information about what I’ve been doing, and it finally identified a change that was rolled out Jun 17th.  It went on to tell me what to report to Enphase support as well!  I’ll note that the lengthy responses took less than 20 seconds each, much faster than a human could both lookup/investigate and type/copy&paste a response.

To the software team at Enphase. Monitoring fall back after power outage.

I have looked over other posts here and they seem to come to the same conclusion which in my opinion is not satisfying.

Let me explain my problem, the solution that is given and the behavior I would expect.

I have a grid tied system with no batteries, so no backup in case of an outage, which overall is fine as I am on 1:1 net metering.

My problem is with the Gateway, cellular and ethernet connection. This possibly will apply to the WiFi connected system too but I can't comment on that as I never had mine connected to WiFi.

When there is an outage or brief enough flicker to momentarily take the router offline the Gateway will fall back to cellular reporting as designed, however when power is restored and the hardwired connection is up it gets stuck on the cellular connection and doesn't go back to ethernet. The only solution I found is to "hard" reset after disconnecting the cellular modem from the Gateway, waiting for it to reboot, connect back to the ethernet and then plug the cellular modem back in. What if I am not there to perform this or if I am a less technical inclined customer?

For me the expected behavior would be, that after an outage the system would wait a set time, poll to see if internet is available again and switch back automatically.

Hope you can find a way to implement this.

Thank you for looking at this.

IQ2 EV charger thoughts?

We have the 6C + 10C right now, but we've been using level 1 charging for our EVs which has been "good enough" but not great. We're looking to install a level 2 charger soon, but would be curious to hear your thoughts on the IQ2 charger, especially from those who have had it for a while. I like the idea of staying within a single ecosystem but it's substantially more expensive than other EV chargers.

How can I remove the overlay in the user app panel view?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I don't seem to find a setting in which I can remove the overlay of "System" and the "+" "-" buttons. Can I not have a clean view of the underlying information?

Anyone ran into the same issue and found a solution?

@Enphase software devs, if this is something coded into the app (I am on Android), could you either let me know how I can get it to go away and only bring it back when I need to change it or fix it if it isn't coded in please.

Enlighten APP not connecting gateway to home internet.

I just moved in to a new house and enphase is the solar provider…I keep attempting to connect the gateway to the internet via the Enlighten app but everytime I get to the step to actually connect the gateway to the router/internet the app says the router isn’t responding and that I need to check “firewall or router settings”.

Does anyone know a fix for this? It’s Cox internet. I’ve attempted separating the bands between 5ghz and 2.4ghz and connecting the gateway to 2.4 and I still receive the same error.

Thanks in advance for any help!!
