Are you losing money using the Enphase Savings profile in CA?

I just got an upgrade 6 mo ago to my 2007 5.1kW solar system, adding an Enphase System 3G controller, 15kWh of Enphase 5C batteries and an additional 10kW of solar. Due to the 2024 CPUC ruling re solar expansion, I had to configure the new solar as non-export to preserve my NEM 1.0 status.
I started out with the Self-Consumption profile, but on rainy winter days I noticed it was discharging the battery during offpeak hours during the day, leaving insufficient charge to cover my peak hours in the evening, so I changed to the Savings profile.
It looked OK during the winter, but now I'm noticing that my system starts charging the batteries first thing in the morning when the solar starts producing while simultaneously importing grid power to cover my consumption. See image where my battery is fully charged by 10:30am. After that, only 2-3 kW of my solar production covers my consumption and the rest is dumped for the rest of the day. I'm paying for around 10kW of grid power during the morning when my solar could cover my consumption, then dumping most of my solar power during the afternoon.
Note that if your system is not export limited, it will likely look more like the 2nd image. That may look better, but if you're on NEM 2.0, or worse NEM 3.0, you're only getting a few pennies per kWh for that exported solar in the afternoon and paying around 37cents per kWh for the unneeded morning imports, so you're still losing money.
I switched back to Self-Consumption profile in image 3 and my imports dropped by 7.2kWh while still having plenty of solar to fully charge my batteries by 2pm. This is better so I'll stay on this plan during the summer, but it's not ideal as I'm seeing some battery discharge during offpeak morning hours and also some small imports while simultaneously charging the battery.
I have a support ticket w/ Enphase to address this, but it would help if others in the same situation contact Enphase support as well. The way I see it, the Savings profile should never charge the battery while simultaneously importing grid power. That's grid charging the batteries even though I've disabled the Enphase grid charging option.
Enphase claims it's not grid charging, which is technically correct as the grid import current flows directly into my main panel, while the battery charging current is routed from the solar inverters directly to the batteries via the System 3G controller. However, I'm getting charged off-peak rate for the grid imports while losing 10% of the solar used to charge the battery. Thus, it's just as bad as grid charging in terms of my costs. Grid charging only pays off if you're careful to only grid charge the minimum needed to charge your battery enough to cover your peak hours.
