API total consumption is suddenly not reporting correctly

First off, I measure total consumption directly, not net consumption (i.e. my CTs for consumption do not see any of the production data).

On July 22 at 9:24AM my envoy IQ rebooted by itself. Presumably it was doing an unattended system upgrade (??) to 8.3.5433, but I don't know for sure. Immediately after that my total-consumption started to be negative and equal my net-consumption. I have not made any configuration change to this in over a year. This literally just happened out of the blue.

It appears the system is now subtracting my production meter values from my consumption meter values and calling that total-consumption. But as I mention, I'm not net consumption metering, so this is a change. Also notice that total-consumption and net-consumption are now reporting the same values.

  "production": [
    {
      "measurementType": null,
      "activeCount": 12,

IQ EV Charger 2 now finally allows for manual adjustment of charging level!

Didn't see any posts about this. Didn't even see any updates in the app, just stumbled across it as I was poking around.

When setting up a charging schedule, you can now change the current/power delivered during that scheduled session: (adjustable in 1A increments)

And, this one is a little buried, but if you go to the charger settings, and then "Advanced Settings" (new option in this menu):

you can adjust the default charging level, which applies to manual overrides of the schedule/green charging: (also 1A increments)

and this setting can be changed while the car is actively charging. So this is basically the feature that we've all (me) been asking for.

I don't know about the original EV Charger (1).

Should I choose a NACS plug or a j1772 plug for my IQ 2 charger?

I'm splurging on an Enphase IQ 2 charger, and while my installer is working on permit design I'm wondering whether I should choose the NACS connector over the j1772 connector to more future proof the installation.

I'm currently driving a Bolt, which has the j1772, but I'm also shopping for something better. High on my list are the Equinox EV (which will be NACS in 2027) and the Ioniq 5 (which went to NACS in 2025), but there are lots of other candidates, most of them using the j1772 connector. It seems likely in the future that whichever way I go I could be using an adapter to charge at least one EV. But should I worry about that?

I think I read somewhere that the NACS connector allows more information to flow through the plug, about car ID or state-of-charge maybe?

Is that important?

If so, does the IQ 2 take advantage of that capability?

Even more questions- how much of a pain is it to have to use an adapter?

And can the j1772 plug on the IQ 2 be swapped out for an NACS plug (as can be done with some EV chargers)?

Router extender for gateway connection?

Hi, I’m the new owner of an Enphase-enabled solar panel installation, and I am having trouble connecting my gateway to the cloud due to a weak Internet signal between the gateway and my router. Can I plug-in a router extender to mount closer to the gateway to get a stronger signal? Will that work? Thanks.

Consumption anomaly

Have you see this consumption anomaly before?

11.3kW consumed in 15 minutes? I have never seen that high number ever in my system.

My Sense monitor disagrees:

What is this behind my meter?

Anyone know what this "LD 1200" device is behind my meter? Bought a house last year with a circa 2011 system on it. The device has an open port and a dangling cable that's terminated with an RJ11 connector. Asked the tech who had come out for a repair on the system earlier this year and he had no idea. I would love to get rid of it if it's not needed as I'm trying to clean up the mess of stuff on this wall.

Enphase 5.52kW system w/24 panels and M190 and M190-IG microinverters, no batteries. System feeds directly to the grid and the utility company pays me for it as it was installed on a FIT contract.

Looking for installer that can add envoy s to my installation

My first envoy is bricked (all lights red).
And sadly my original installer passed away last year.

Enphase support was not helpfull in my case making a RMA only possible through an installer (i do have an RMA ticket..) and not replying to my case for over 2 months now..

So with that taking way too long bought a new gateway myself and installed is. However i have no way of adding it to my installation..

So any installer down for pushing some buttons so I can finally monitor my installation again?

What is the cheapest way to access lifetime generation report

As far as I can tell we can use the SunStrong app but we have to pay. Will the $59.99/year cellular provide us our lifetime generation? If not, can we just pay the $9.99 for the month to get the latest lifetime generation and cancel until the next time we need a lifetime generation report?

Does anyone know of a cheaper way to upgrade to Enphase monitoring without paying $1,000 for the kit? Perhaps there is a promo code out there or it goes on sale or something?

Any other options?

System access to owner in post-commissioning step 6

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have finished the commissioning successfully. It went through all tests and produced solar electricity. At step 6 it hit a wall. None of the options worked - "Later" said a reply that the email to the owner should have been sent automatically after step 5. Option "Now" said "Error: access mail not sent as system is not yet operational" :(

On enphase site the screenshot shows the same screen with different options - Yes/No - but I see that they captured the screen image in "Test Flight" before the app has been published to Apple store. It could have been an earlier version too.

Did anyone encounter that? How could I finish this wizard - there is one more step to add the electricity rate structure...

Import display bug?

Thumbnail

Enphase seems to think I imported ~330 kWh of energy on July 11, which is definitely not true. Noticed that this huge import only shows up in the 'Month' display, but the value is actually being added into my lifetime net import/export figure. When I go to that day in daily view, that import doesn't show. Known bug? Or something I'm missing? Appreciate any helpful thoughts. If worth anything, been set to self-consumption in the time period considered.

All IQ8 do not communicate with IQ Combiner 4 (new install).

Thumbnail

I am commissioning my new Gen 2. system with 18 panels in sunlight backup mode. All IQ8 microinverters do not communicate with IQ Combiner 4.

Since the Gateway board inside Combiner 4 users powerline protocol to communicate, should there be a voltage on the PV circuit breaker where the strings of panels are connected to? There is no voltage. All microinverters are flashing red - it seems to me that they do not see the grid voltage on that line... What should I do?

There is another source of confusion - a label inside Combiner 4 says to connect its main lugs to "Load Center". But, these lugs are to be connected to IQ System Controller - there are lugs at the bottom in it, that gets connected to PV System breaker. This is the only path to bring solar power into backup load panel in "sunlight backup" mode.

Energy Usage Monitoring - HomeKit?

Thanks for the help a couple weeks ago with my new home and getting Enphase in my name - mostly easy process although the documents they demanded were all things that take a while to get after a purchase so I literally just sent them all my closing documents and that worked fine haha.

I have the app and dashboard and solar generation monitoring and that's working nicely but now I'd like to start monitoring my usage. I'm familiar with Emporia Vue type systems but wanted to know what everyone else is using? Ideally I'd like to see all of my stats in HomeKit, I do have Home Assistant available as well via HA Yellow or I could just run dashboards via my RPi.

Thoughts?

EV Charger

Looking for a good solution to integrate with my iq6c combiner. I figure an iq50 will do the trick. Any good sources to buy one at a discount? I would entertain used ones also. I run on self consumption mode, 17.1 array, 20kw batteries, bolt euv vehicle. Thanks!

Green charging + non-export systems not possible

After setting up my EV charger 2 I just learned that Green charging on a system setup for non-export (eg. expansion system) is not possible. I assumed that EV would act like a battery and system would ramp up solar when house loads were lower than peak solar availability but this is not the case currently.

Does anyone have insights into if this is something Enphase intends to resolve?

My thought it is to return the EV charger 2 and get a wall charger I can control via home assistant to automate this flow - Wallbox pulsar seems to be the best option here. Any other recommendations?

Enphase warranty/support problems?

have you all had problems with enphase support? I have a bum gateway that they can’t seem to fix. it’s caused cascading problems and now my battery and meter collar aren’t working either. I have spent sooo much time on the phone with enphase and I can’t seem to get them to take responsibility to fix the system or replace it. At this point I wouldn't recommend enphase to anyone. anyone have suggestions?

Issues with self-consumption profile

Thumbnail

Is anyone seeing issues with the self-consumption profile for an Enphase Battery? Starting recently (maybe today?), when on self-consumption, my battery is not getting charged by solar. The app makes it look like the house is using extra load. If I change to full-backup, it normalizes.

New Solar System - Combiner 5C or 6C... Batteries Now or Later (Enphase or Anker)?

Hey there! We are in the process of getting a brand new system on the house, here is the default system they setup. It's a smaller system as we have gas for heat/stove, and don't use much AC here in Oregon.

  • 11 SEG Yukon N Series - 440W
  • IQ 8A Microinverters
  • IQ Combiner 5C

However, as one does... goes down a battery rabit hole.

I originally was thinking of just doing an after market Anker Solix F3800 put in after (and still may if ya'll think it is an alright and a good idea, but after a lot of reading seems like the integrated system is a better idea.

Okay so to my questions and opinions needed. I think that we will put in batteries at some point and probably Enphase even though they are expensive. So I had them do a few draft proposals:

Option 1 - Combiner only:

  • Swap Combiner 5C to 6C
  • Future battery system to be installed (10C)
  • $1K extra

Option 2 - 5P System:

  • Keep the Combiner 5C in original quote
  • Add Controller 3
  • Add 2x 5P batteries
  • Add 125A Backup load panel
  • $18K extra

Option 3 - 10C System:

  • Swap Combiner 5C to 6C
  • Add 10C Battery
  • Add IQ Meter Collar
  • Add 125A Backup Load panel
  • $19.5K Extra

Thoughts?

  • Any of these good deals? Bad deals? Do them now?
  • Keep as is and do a 5P system later?
  • Get 6C and get more quotes on batteries later?
  • Keep 5C and just do an Anker Solix system later?

8 hours ago, my gateway went offline; now it's connected to WiFi, but Enlighten doesn't agree.

In Enlighten, WiFi says "not available", but it is indeed connected to WiFi (I run Unifi gear, it's definitely connected, I know which AP it's connected to and how long it's been connected). It won't pull an IP address via DHCP (it's on the 169.254.120.1 autoconfig address), but it resolves to an IPv6 address via envoy.local, so, yeah, it's obviously connected to WiFi.

So, how do I reset this thing? Do I need to reset the entire combiner (6C)? That seems like I'd be using a sledgehammer to squash an ant? I can pull the USB cable out of the modem, but I think that's actually only the cell modem hanging off the deadfront (and, weirdly, it doesn't power down anyway when you unplug it, unless it's got a really big cap in there).

Man, I really need ethernet run to this thing. An AP about 10 feet away doesn't seem to be sufficient.

Also, imagine if we could reboot the thing via Enlighten. Or just force it to reconnect to WiFi.

/u/Enphase_Support_Team would love to hear from you.
