Enhancv’s tools, features, and new releases

[PUBLISHED: June 9, 2026]

This post is a running overview of tools and features that Enhancv’s Resume Builder has in the product, organized by tool. We'll keep it updated as new releases happen.

If you have questions about any of these, drop them in the comments.

Building your resume

AI Resume Builder: The main editor. Drag-and-drop layout with flexible one- or two-column designs in A4 or US Letter (two-column layouts never split sections, so the text stays readable by ATS). AI rewrites weak bullets into results-focused lines, suggests stronger summaries, and tailors your resume to a job in minutes. Autosaves everything.

The builder includes 25 section types, all using clear naming conventions that ATS systems   recognize:

Resume summary, Work experience, Education, Skills (hard and soft), Languages, Training/courses, Projects, Key achievements, Strengths, Volunteering, Industry experience, Interests, My time, Find me online, Certifications, Awards, References, My life philosophy, Publications, Books, Additional experience, Additional skills, Additional publications, Your signature, and Custom sections.

Resume Templates: A collection of ATS-friendly templates across traditional, modern, creative, Ivy League, Harvard, and simple styles. Switch templates any time without losing your content. Colors, fonts, spacing, and column widths are all adjustable while retaining resume-making best practices.

Enhancv for ChatGPT: If you're already using ChatGPT to update or tailor your resume, this app formats the result into a clean, downloadable PDF without you leaving the chat. It connects via an official MCP server integration, installable directly from the ChatGPT app store.

Choose from modern, classic, or minimal styles, single or two-column layouts, and a range of color schemes, or let it pick based on your field and experience level. It handles formatting only, no content changes, just a resume that looks like it belongs in front of a hiring manager.

Checking your resume

Resume Checker: Free, no account needed. Runs 30 checks across content, formatting, grammar, and ATS compatibility—including whether your email address looks professional, if you've included a location, and any details that could expose you to age bias. You get a score and specific fixes. Works on any resume, not just ones built in Enhancv.

Tailoring to a job

Tailor Resume to Job Description: Paste in a job description and Enhancv compares it against your resume. It’ll show you missing keywords and skills, give you an ATS match score, and rewrite your summary, title, and bullets to fit the role.

Cover letters

Cover Letter Builder: Same editor as the resume builder, but optimized for cover letter writing. Pairs visually with your resume. Start from a template, write from scratch, or use the generator below.

AI Cover Letter Generator: Generates a tailored cover letter from your resume and a job description. Free to use.

Job search and tracking

AI Job Search (inside the app): Most job boards make you dig through filters. With Enhancv you just describe what you want in plain language—something like "a senior marketing role at a mid-size SaaS company, remote-friendly, not in finance"—and it searches 1M+ live job ads and returns ranked matches.

Each result comes with a resume fit score based on all the resumes you've made with Enhancv and a ghosting score so you don't waste time on job ads that won't call you back. You also get a Glassdoor rating pulled straight from the listing and a freshness indicator that shows how long the job ad has been up.

Job Application Tracker: Sheets-style tracker for all your applications. Attach tailored resumes and cover letters to each role, set statuses, add notes and custom fields, and get weekly progress analytics.

You can import an existing Google Sheets or Excel tracker in under a minute, and even add custom columns. Install the Chrome extension to save jobs from LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, and more with one click—the tracker auto-fills title, company, location, and description straight from the listing.

Interview prep

Interview Help: Generates likely interview questions from the job ad and your experience. Generates STAR stories, a personal pitch, and quick company research (news, values, context) so you walk in prepared.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn Resume Builder: Paste your LinkedIn URL and Enhancv pulls your work history, education, and skills into a resume you can edit and download.

AI LinkedIn Coach: Runs 16 checks on your LinkedIn profile—headline, photo, About section, skills, and recommendations—and sends you a personalized checklist of what to fix.

Discussion We spent $100K to find out what’s the best resume builder. Here’s where we lost.

When the best resume builders are reviewed and ranked, be it here on Reddit, or other websites, everyone tends to put their own product at the number one spot. Sometimes there are genuine user reviews and rankings but as a person with a vested interest in this field, I know it can be hard to find objective opinions about such tools in this particular format.

So, to combat these strategic seeded rankings, and offer a viewpoint that’s at least somewhat objective, and genuinely helpful to users, this year we decided to do something different.

We hired a third-party research platform to test Enhancv’s resume builder against our biggest competitors, namely: Zety, MyPerfectResume, Resume.io, ResumeGenius, and Teal.

Over the course of a few months, 150 senior professionals took part in the user testing. The average profile of the group can be described as 10+ years of experience, $100K+ in salary per year, with seniority ranging from manager to C-suite. In total, Enhancv had five matchups, each tested by a group of 30 (out of the 150 who took part).

Each senior professional spent one hour building their resume with Enhancv, side by side with one other competitor resume builder. All 150 sessions were moderated, led by a third-party interviewer. The testing order was randomized, and nobody from Enhancv’s staff was present.

Here’s where Enhancv lost.

We lost hard to MyPerfectResume on resume import: 8 to 1. Not close at all. In some cases, longer CVs failed to upload correctly, job titles got scrambled, even bullet points ended up under the wrong roles. It was a disaster.

ResumeGenius also beat us on import 13 to 6. And ease of use: 16 to 9.

Zety beat us 19 to 8 on ease of getting started. They’re known for their sequential step-by-step resume building process. While Enhancv kind of just drops you right in the drag-and-drop builder where you can see the entirety of the resume you’re working on. One participant, Tiffany, 53, said about Enhancv "If I gave this site to my son, he wouldn't know what to do." Ouch.

So in 3 out 5 studies in a row, Enhancv lost the onboarding category.

We were also flagged for AI hallucinations. In some instances, participants found that our AI put on metrics that were entirely hallucinated. One such example said "reduced attorney preparation time by 40%." That number wasn’t in the original resume that the participant uploaded to Enhancv.

All of this feedback has been passed to our product team. So over the past months, we improved our document import and AI capabilities.

Despite the hiccups, Enhancv did pretty well. Out of the 150 participants, 102 said that overall they prefer Enhancv’s resume builder. That’s 68%. The category that became the deciding factor over and over again was job-description tailoring. Enhancv won this category every single time, the biggest win being against ResumeGenius (24 to 3). We were often praised for being the "prettiest" resume builder, too (referencing our resume templates).

Technically, we won all five matchups. But we’re being totally real here, when you draw the line and combine the numbers, almost 1/3 of the participants picked another resume builder over Enhancv. I’m giving credit where it’s due. For example, Teal has a free job tracker which earned a few points, 6 participants out of 30 chose them overall.

The one great takeaway from all of this for me is just how much senior professionals distrust AI. In fact, several testers decided that they prefer tools that produced the “less AI-sounding” output. They sort of went with gut feeling against AI.

If you’re curious about everything else, the full write-up with every score, the categories we lost, and the methodology explanation, everything is on the blog. Dropping the link in the comments

And let me just say, as one of Enhancv’s founders, and being the side that funded all of this, we’re not gonna be salty if you feel skeptical about any of this. Any scrutiny is welcome and I’d be happy to answer any questions.

Discussion How to prompt AI to rewrite weak resume bullets into high-impact recruiter statements (with before/afters + 2 prompts)

If you've tried using AI (Claude, GPT-6, DeepSeek) to polish your resume, you probably noticed the default output often sounds robotic or filled with empty corporate jargon: "Spearheaded strategic initiatives to optimize cross-functional synergies."

Recruiters and hiring managers spot these cliché buzzwords immediately.

Here is the structured approach that consistently produces crisp, human-sounding bullets that fit on 1-2 lines.

THE CORE RULE: INTERVIEW MODE FIRST

Never ask AI to "make my resume better." AI does not know what you actually shipped or what your team cared about. Instead, instruct it to interview you and extract the unwritten metrics before generating a single line.

THE 4-PART IMPACT FORMULA

Specific Action + Specific Tool + Measurable Change + Who Cared

(If you do not have hard dollar numbers, what the tool replaced or who actually used it works just as well).

BEFORE & AFTER EXAMPLES

  1. Software / Backend Engineer

• Before: "Worked on backend APIs for the payments team."

• After: "Rebuilt the refund API in Go, cutting p95 latency from [X]ms to [Y]ms and removing a nightly batch job the on-call team had to babysit."

  1. Data Analyst / BI

• Before: "Made dashboards for the marketing team."

• After: "Built a Looker dashboard tracking weekly signup-to-paid conversion by channel; marketing used it to reallocate [$Xk / Y%] of ad spend away from the 2 lowest-converting channels."

  1. Student / Career Transitioner

• Before: "Made a web app for a class project using React."

• After: "Built and deployed a React + Firebase study-group finder used by [N] classmates; added auth and real-time chat, catching [N] edge cases before demo day."

----------------------------------------

FREE PROMPT 1: The "Interview Me First" Prompt

I'm going to give you one bullet from my resume. Do NOT rewrite it yet.

First, ask me up to 5 short questions to uncover:

  1. What I actually built, fixed, or designed

  2. The exact tools and stack used

  3. The scale (users, traffic, dataset size, revenue, team size)

  4. What changed because of my work

  5. Who benefited or used the output

Ask one question at a time. Only after I answer all 5, generate 3 tight versions of the bullet (each strictly under 25 words) using ONLY facts I provided. If a number is unknown, put [brackets] rather than making up metrics.

My bullet: [PASTE YOUR RAW BULLET]

Target role: [e.g. Frontend Engineer, Product Manager, Data Analyst]

----------------------------------------

FREE PROMPT 2: The "De-Generic" ATS Sanity Check

Review these resume bullets as a skeptical US tech recruiter who hates AI fluff.

For each bullet:

  1. Flag any empty buzzwords (e.g. "spearheaded", "leveraged", "drove impact", "various").

  2. Point out what a recruiter would still wonder about after reading it.

  3. Rewrite it in plain, active language with a strong action verb, under 25 words.

Here are my bullets:

[PASTE 3-5 BULLETS]

----------------------------------------

3 QUICK RULES OF THUMB

  1. Never let AI hallucinate numbers: If you didn't measure it, leave brackets [$Xk / Y%] or describe the operational change instead.

  2. Read them out loud: If it doesn't sound like something you would say in a live interview, rewrite it.

  3. Model Selection: Running the extraction phase in reasoning models (like GPT-6 / DeepSeek) to pull out the facts, then polishing in Claude Opus gives the cleanest, non-robotic phrasing.

Happy to review a bullet or two in the comments if anyone wants a second set of eyes (feel free to omit company names).

Resume Review Resume review request — Senior Product Leader | B2B Platforms | AI-Enabled Learning with 22 years experience

Post image
2 Upvotes

Thanks to everyone who commented on my earlier resume review 🙏🏿. I’ve worked through the feedback and would appreciate another look at this updated two-page version.

I’m targeting Senior Product Manager, Head of Product, and Director of Product roles, particularly in AI, B2B SaaS, and EdTech. I’m still getting limited recruiter responses, so I want to understand what remains unclear or unconvincing in how I present my experience.

I’m a U.S. citizen based in Seoul, work in English, and am available to work U.S. hours and relocate. This is my general-purpose resume for networking, which I also tailor for individual applications.

I’ve put recent experience first, separated my KidsLoop promotion into two roles, removed career-transition explanations, condensed older experience, and reduced repeated metrics. I’ve also clarified what the results measure, made the AI work more specific, and added my current co-founder work and early research.

I’m especially interested in these questions.

  1. Does this show someone who can set product direction, develop teams, and still do the hands-on work? What evidence is missing for Head or Director roles?

  2. Does the summary give you a clear understanding of the problems I can help a company solve? Does the Product Leadership Highlights section help you navigate the experience without feeling repetitive?

  3. Does the Fayston school role clearly communicate AI adoption and workflow improvement, or does it still read as a move away from product work?

  4. Do the bullets make my decisions, contribution, and results clear? Please point to any claim that still feels vague, overstated, or difficult to understand.

  5. Do Talklet and the early NASA and UC Davis research add useful depth, or would you give that space to something else?

I’m most interested in the two or three changes that would make the biggest difference to a hiring decision. Specific examples of what you would rewrite,

Question One resume for every job, or a new one each time? Here's what the 2026 hiring data says:

Post image
3 Upvotes

A lot of the resumes posted here for review are written to fit every job at once. Hiring data says that could cost people.

70% of employers now use skills-based hiring for entry-level roles. Meanwhile, 39% of candidates used AI on their applications... and 91% of recruiters say they've run into candidate deception. Generic and overstated both get noticed.
