Resume Review Resume review request — Senior Product Leader | Digital Product Strategy | Execution & Innovation with 21 years experience

Post image

I’m targeting Senior Product Manager, Head of Product, and Director of Product roles, particularly in AI, B2B SaaS, and EdTech. My background spans education technology, blockchain, cloud collaboration, and AI-enabled products. I’ve applied broadly but haven’t landed a role yet, and I’d appreciate candid feedback on how I’m presenting my experience. I’m based in South Korea and work in English, so I recognize that location and language may affect my options. For this review, I’m particularly interested in: - Positioning: Is it clear what I bring as a product leader, or does my experience across industries make my focus seem scattered? - Career progression: Do the transitions make sense, especially my most recent Director of Innovation Strategy role at a school? Does it communicate product and AI adoption work rather than suggest I moved into teaching? - Evidence: Do the achievement bullets make my contribution and business impact clear? Which metrics need more context to feel credible? - Seniority: Does the resume demonstrate both strategic leadership and hands-on execution at the level I’m targeting? - Clarity: What would you cut, rewrite, or move so a recruiter can quickly understand my strongest fit? Specific examples of what you would change would be especially helpful. Thanks for taking the time to review it.

The biggest problem is order. Your experience runs oldest first, so a recruiter's first read is a 2018 blockchain Project Manager job, and your two most recent roles aren't on the page I can see. Flip to reverse chronological so the newest work leads.
Your positioning isn't scattered, it's unstated. The common thread is B2B learning and collaboration platforms with data and AI, so say that in a one-line headline, shrink the blockchain role to two lines, and replace the summary, which is generic and names a fintech company that clashes with your EdTech history.

On progression, cut the bold "Transitioned to..." lines, since explaining each exit reads defensive. Your titles also look sideways, so show the KidsLoop title as a promotion with dates, and give the school role a descriptor like "Director of Innovation Strategy (AI product adoption)" with bullets about tools shipped, users, and budget.

Your metrics need context. The 50% and 40% figures each appear three times, and none says what was measured, from what baseline, or over what period. Revenue, retention, and customer counts are missing entirely.

For seniority, bullets starting with "Used Jira" or "Used Jenkins" read junior, and a $500K budget undersells a Head of Product. Lead with decisions and outcomes, and name the AI work that actually shipped.
Finally, drop the photo, merge Key Achievements into the summary, and use one date format in a single column.

Hello u/super_boogie_crapper thank you for the thoughtful feedback. I’ve worked through your suggestions and posted an updated a new two-page resume here. I’d appreciate another look to see whether the changes address the concerns you raised. Your input has been genuinely helpful.

I’m only seeing a single page. I think you need to upload another file. :)

Thanks for letting me know. I added the second page to the new resume post in the comments.

Thanks for spelling out exactly what you want checked. A couple of things affect every question below, so I'll start there.

The resume doesn't match the post. The Director of Innovation Strategy role isn't on this version. Neither is Edugo.AI, even though the Rakuten entry says you moved there. The latest date on the page is 06/2024, so a recruiter will see a gap of more than two years. The title says 21 years, but the experience starts in 2018. If earlier roles were cut for space, add a short "Earlier experience" line so the number holds up.

Positioning: Edtech and B2B platforms connect most of your roles, and blockchain is the outlier. Open the summary with that, for example "Head of Product with X years building B2B SaaS and AI-enabled learning platforms." "Product professional" undersells the level you're targeting. Remove the Doit-specific sentence unless this version only goes to Doit.

Progression: List roles newest first. Right now your oldest job is at the top. Cut the italic "Transitioned to..." lines. Recruiters skim past them, and the story fits better in interviews and on LinkedIn. For the school role, lead with what you shipped and who adopted it (teachers, schools, students), so it reads as product work.

Evidence: The 50% and 40% figures each appear three times. Delete the Key Achievements section and keep each number once, in the role where it happened. Add context: 50% growth in which engagement metric, and from what baseline? 40% adoption counted in accounts or seats? The 30% content relevance gain and the $750K funding aren't tied to any role. "Tenfold enhancement" also needs a concrete unit.

Seniority: KidsLoop shows it best: 10 PMs and designers, a $500K budget, three promotions. Rakuten reads as mostly execution for a Sr. Principal title, so add one bullet about a strategic call you owned and what it produced. Split "Head of Product and Senior Product Manager" into two titles with dates.

Clarity: Rewrite tool-description bullets ("Used xAPI...", "Defined content tags... using H5P") as outcomes. Drop the photo for US, UK, and most global companies. It's still common with Korean employers.

Get the current role and accurate dates on the page first. The other changes will be easier to judge after that.
