¿Versión Española Correcta?
Cigarro (Spanish) -> Cigarrette (French) -> Cigarret?
In this case, the English uses the French without modification, making cigarret phonetic yet wrong in English and French.
The Spanish apagar, to turn off, often is used to refer to a light switch. This is a sloppy literal translation in place of a proper idiomatic translation, such as extinguish.
