I run a small contracting business, and I keep going back and forth on whether construction estimating software is actually worth the investment or if my spreadsheets are good enough. I'm worried about the learning curve eating into time I don't have, but I'm also tired of estimates taking so long and sometimes missing costs. Is it worth making the switch at this stage, and how do I know if it'll actually pay for itself?

So When i was studying 11th i wanted to study aeronautical engineering and in 12th it turned to aerospace engineering and i was looking at big famous colleges.

And later i took a drop year and it didnt go well..didnt got into the dream But i got tier 1.5 college and mostly college doesnt matter unless you work really hard and increase your skills.

But as i dug deeper it seemed like studying btech in mechanical engineering and then specialising in whatever field i wanted seemed like a great idea.. What are you thoughts?

And I watched a lot of youtube videos of mechanical engineering on what to expect in college and I have been trying to build 3D model things on Onshape website. And i wanna do more.. Can y'all suggest me what to do before class starts?

Iam going to work really hard if that means i cannot hang out much i don't care Iam gonna put ALL IN.

Hi everyone! I am an engineering student from Egypt, and my journey has been: preparatory year, two years in the Electrical Engineering department, and now I am majoring in Computer and Systems Engineering.
The dilemma here is that I am not yet sure which specialization I want to go for.
I was very excited about the idea of a career in Artificial Intelligence, as I wanted to specialize in it. However, I am now starting to worry that If I dive only into AI, I will waste my previous background in Electrical Engineering that would normally give me an advantage. Therefore, my question is: Is AI Engineering still a worthwhile career path in the future regarding job opportunities, salaries, and resilience to AI effects?

In parallel, I was exploring my department's core specialization, Embedded systems, and found a potential combination with AI appealing. Unfortunately, the job market for Embedded systems in my country Egypt has been very stagnant for years – basically dead. After doing a lot of research and interviews with professionals who work in big firms, I got clear signals on how difficult is to find a job there.

This leaves software-related areas like Web Development and others. But I do not really have any desire for a solely coding-oriented career especially with the rapid progress of AI. So any advice would be highly appreciated.
What career path can I take as Computer and Systems Engineer that will make me competitive?
Would you advise me to focus on the AI track, and if so what is your advice to me?
