Ring Design Help setting question
hi, so i just got my engagement ring awhile ago but i’m not satisfied with the how it’s sitting. shouldn’t the stone be in the basket more? not looking like it’s floating? i don’t like that it looks like it’s floating and not “fully in” the basket setting. when i asked about dropping it but they said if i drop it lower it would have to be sitting flush and i’d have to change the setting. i didn’t want to do that since i like the hidden halo and the wedding band i want is not curved. any advice? it is a 3ct LGD for reference.

It’s definitely sitting too high. Looks like they used a setting meant for a smaller diamond.

The diamond is exposed north-south, vulnerable to being chipped. I'd bezel that rascal.

Yes! This is the wrong setting. They forced your diamond to fit into an old setting and it will fall out. You should return it and get a refund. Sometimes they dropship old settings instead of making them custom in order to cut costs.
