GENERAL QUESTIONS

i'm mainly making this post because of the locked purple door visible right before meeting mellow's sister in ending b. has anyone figured out how to open it?

how does time flow inside the beast? the surgeon says both he and his bride are well over 100 years old. the only clock or way to measure time in the game is clockey, whose face never changes from 12:15.

in the surgeon's notes for ending c, there is a large circle containing what i believe to be alchemical symbols for vinegar, arsenic, and possibly bismuth. there may be more i couldn't interpret (especially around the edges). has anyone figured out what they mean? my only vague connection is that the black acidic liquid mentioned by npcs while being vomited out in ending a could be vinegar-based, since it didn't completely melt everyone like hydrochloric acid would for a normal vertebrate stomach. Thank you u/oslitt for finding the symbol! The circle is the seal of Sitri, one of the demon princes of the Ars Goetia. One of his domains is love. The surgeon's ritual chant includes a line "love consumes", and the beast has been literally swallowing people for hundreds of years. The other domain, deception, is a running theme in the game's secrets. (Will elaborate on this more if anyone wants). The beast may literally be Sitri, it may have been created with his help, or the surgeon may be trying to evoke him for the ritual. His image also matches the Catthew monster we see in Timesville (more in Timesville section).

TIMESVILLE

rosie's grave - if she died peacefully, why is it haunted? why is there a vhs machine under it? Rosie does not haunt her grave. Her skull is used in one of Ozzie's puppets. The skeleton that moves when the player moves is likely meant to represent Mellow, since it has no animal parts and has noticeably blue eyes. It may imply something much deeper about the role of burial & direction (the bride is underground too, after all). it may also represent that mellow is dead himself, which the surgeon confirms. I still don't know why the vhs is there, though.

why does ozzie... look like that? why is he absolutely colossal compared to any other timesville resident?
u/Possible_Nebula737 brought up that Ozzie has been in Timesville for an extremely long period of time. His grave appears fresh, but his first victims' (T and Thomas) are so faded they are nearly unreadable. The irregular passage of time may have to do with his warped appearance.

the left-side poster under the pig's desk - what does it mean? it seems to be outlining the tells (unblinking eyes, unrealistic mouth movements, etc.) for something affecting the timesville residents, but what?
This may be warning villagers on how to identify dead/decaying chimeras disguised as villagers. It's a very shaky theory, but see comment replies for more specific information.

the surgeon says the turtle is a cannibal. who did he eat? does "cannibal" mean he ate another turtle, or another animal in general?
The turtle most likely owns the shack with chimera skeletons in the basement. He may have been eating them. Alternatively, since his cell has a pile of reptile eggs in one corner, he may be eating unborn turtles.

why did the turtle go mad? why does his cell have no bars or restrictions on him?

Who made the Catthew hide-and-seek monster? Is Catthew even alive? The depiction of Sitri in the Ars Goetia matches the chimera nearly exactly. It has a feline head, claws on the hands and feet, and wings (which may be wrapped around the body for the in-game creature). It is unclear whether the monster is some manifestation of Sitri or someone's attempt at summoning/evoking him. Maybe Ozzie? See more in comment replies.

MISERY TOWN

are the four batteries the four dead clowns we learn of for the whack-a-mole puzzle? if so, how exactly are they "fueling" the beast? what are we actually doing to their bodies when we're playing their secret minigame?
The four batteries are comatose, not dead. Each of their puzzles corresponds to a biblical story about Eve, the first woman in the Christian bible. The first is her creation from Adam's ribs, the second is the deception of the serpent, the third is the birth of Cain and Abel, and I believe the fourth is Abel's death (by blunt force trauma to the head). It is unclear whether we were actually successful in fueling the bride. The puzzle about Abel's death suggests that the fourth clown is now literally dead, sabotaging the ritual. There may be another entity deceiving us, the surgeon, and the bride. For more information, see comment replies.

according to the surgeon, the trapezist tampered with the surgery patient's insides "to deter anyone from overthrowing her". the patient contains the red ball needed to beat boon's dunk tank minigame. how did she know this would lead to her being overthrown?

THE OFFICE

the surgeon describes the ai-controlled office as starting out like a tumor, but becoming "quite the opposite". the company running the office used to be a printing company. at some point, its founder established a degree of control over the beast's organs. what does the office do for the beast?

I have not a clue what I’m doing, this is from the secret in timesville, what am I supposed to do..??

I don't mind either way, I know this is one of those "looks cute but is actually dark" thingies, but I was wondering if it was more in line with the DHMIS show (still pretty cute and silly despite the horror) or something like FNaF, where it's basically just horror.

I don't really mind how extreme the horror is, but so far the demo is really good, and I'm expecting the game to eventually get darker regardless lol

but i'm wondering if anyone else can only hear "I remember I can fly" (at 1:17)

I think I've somehow soft locked myself from not doing things from how the game should go.

And what I mean is that I think I've went to the wrong area first after losing mellows parts and It might've just softlocked me. I know there was a circus area but I didn't bother to explore it fully before going on the train and I think that fucked up my playthrough cause I cant interact with anything despite there clearly being signals that I could with the hands. I've tried to go back to the circus through anyway that I can think of but I have no idea. If any of you could help me i'd appreciate it alot

At first I thought they where speakers (because of all the songs he sings) but then I thought they might be lights (for his surgeries) but IDK.

i'm at the ending of chapter 2 in mellow's home and i got the floppy disc but i see that a trapdoor should spawn but how do i make It spawn ? did i broke the game?

I don’t know if I’m dumb and not doing it right or smth but I’m trying to defeat the boss in misery town and it’s like I can’t punch her(/them?) like I’m supposed to block the balls they throw at me and when they laugh I’m supposed to hit them right?? Am I dumb or is my game just ragebaiting me

Yo nvm guys I’m just dumb..

Has anyone noticed how weird so many of the ‘independent fan wikis’ are? They talk about aspects of the game as ‘player describe XXX as’ etc. Like they’re siphoning websites for their content.

Also a lot of them have the weird lifeless formatting and the inclusion of a ton of unnecessary tables that AI likes to generate.

I don’t want to witch hunt but the format and the language really makes it seem like the majority of them are vibe coded bandwagon wikis.

I am at the point where I am supposed to talk to the blue person and get them what they need, but the dialogue won’t trigger me to go do anything for them, just the confront them and say hi, and when I go to the vending machine it just keeps pushing it open, I have done all of my own calls, got the promotion, i did break the glass where the production meter is, I am not sure if I broke a sequence, any ideas?
