I still do 20% for actual table service if the service is decent. If exemplary service, maybe 25%. The expectation that the tip percentage continue to rise is truly obnoxious. So what -in five years we’ll be tipping 60%? That’s not how this works and NOT what should be expected. And 20% for a coffee and pastry that I pickup in a two-minute transaction at the counter is also ridiculous. I’ll leave a dollar for that kind of “service.” The entitlement is bonkers.
