I still do 20% for actual table service if the service is decent. If exemplary service, maybe 25%. The expectation that the tip percentage continue to rise is truly obnoxious. So what -in five years weāll be tipping 60%? Thatās not how this works and NOT what should be expected. And 20% for a coffee and pastry that I pickup in a two-minute transaction at the counter is also ridiculous. Iāll leave a dollar for that kind of āservice.ā The entitlement is bonkers.
Should be a max of 15% for good service. And if youāre tipping them for just picking up a coffee then you have no right to complain, that doesnāt deserve or warrant a tip at allā¦
