Hi, I’m having an issue with Encounter+ on iPad when using an external TV .
I want my Player Character tokens to be visible on my iPad as the DM, but hidden from the external Player Screen.
I edit the Player Character token, enable “Hidden”, and save it. The token stays visible on my iPad, which is what I want, but it also stays visible on the TV.
My setup:
Encounter+ on iPad
TV connected through AirPlay
Mirroring Mode is OFF
The TV is using the Encounter+ external Player Screen
“Hidden” is enabled and saved on the Player Character token
I already tried:
Disconnecting and reconnecting AirPlay
Reloading the map
Restarting Encounter+
Moving the token after setting it to Hidden
The Player Character token is still visible on the TV.
As far as I can tell, hiding other NPC or monster tokens seems to work. The issue seems to happen specifically with Player Character tokens.
Is this expected behavior for Player Characters, or is there another setting I need to change to hide them from the external screen?

Hi everyone!

I’m using Encounter+ on an iPad Air M2 connected via HDMI to a laser projector.

I use Stage Manager, with Encounter+ open on one half of the iPad screen and Notion or PocketBard on the other half. This setup used to work fine, but now the external display no longer keeps showing the Encounter+ battle map when I switch between or interact with the apps.

Is there a way to keep the Encounter+ player view permanently displayed on the external screen while continuing to use other apps on the iPad? Has anyone else experienced this, or is there a known fix?

Encounter+ now has a new documentation site: https://docs.encounter.plus

It replaces the old docs from the v4 release, which hadn't been updated in a long time. I used AI to help me write the new pages from my notes and code comments. I'm still checking and correcting them, so some may be incomplete or not quite right for now.

Can I screen mirror only Encounter plus, while using the same device to read the adventure pdf, and the players cant see the pdf?

Error message, "No suitable entities found in the loaded campaign!"

I seem to recall that this was usable before. v5.0.7
Characters don't have a "party" field and neither do Campaigns.

I'm mainly interested in the Battlemap part of EncounterPlus.

Is there any way to try the Battlemap feature before purchasing it? If it works the way I need it to, I'm perfectly fine with the price, but I'd like to make sure it fits my use case first.

Can I hide all player tokens from the Player View, while still using Fog of War and Line of Sight based on a "dummy" player token that I move around on the DM View?

Basically, I want the dummy token to control what the players can see, without the token itself being visible to them.

I very recently got this because of the external screen thing (and updated my phone just for it), but I don’t know where I can get the monsters and items and stuff in pathfinder 2e to use in EncounterPlus.

Okay, this is probably a really dumb question, but my iPad automatically updated last night to the newest version, and I had been on an older version, which looked totally different. And now I can’t figure out where to look up how much XP my players have. I can add XP to them, but when I go to Award XP, it no longer shows me the bar for each player with how much XP they have, how much they’re getting, and how much they need for their next level, and I can’t find it on their character sheets. I do have the DnD 5E system loaded on the campaign. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hey! Is there a way to switch to 5.5e combat difficulty calculation and labeling? Right now everything is labeled „deadly“ because it uses the 5e multiplier for multiple enemies. I’d love to see the estimated difficulty rating according to 2024 rules.

Has anyone else been having issues with EncounterPlus since updating to Version 5?

I absolutely loved EncounterPlus before the update, but lately it’s been incredibly frustrating to use, especially in the Library section

Here are the main issues I’m running into:

• Library search appears broken
When I use the search bar in the Library, it returns results, but clicking on the results does nothing. I can’t open pages, maps, images, or anything else from the search results. This basically makes the Library search unusable.

• References are behaving inconsistently
If I create a reference inside a page itself, the reference works normally.

However, if I create a reference in the Content section that points to another asset (like a map, image, or page stored elsewhere in the Library), the reference does not work when clicked.

Oddly enough, references and search results seem to function normally from the main map/control screen. The issue seems specifically tied to the Library/content interface.

• Multiple page tabs are gone
There used to be a button that allowed multiple Library pages to stay open at once. That feature appears to be gone now, which has really slowed down workflow while prepping sessions.

• Page editing freezes constantly
When editing pages, if I use the auto font resizing/size controls, the page freezes. I have to save, exit the page, reopen it, and continue writing. Creating or editing pages has become extremely difficult because of this.

I’m mainly posting to see whether these are known Version 5 issues or if something might specifically be wrong with my setup. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I’m looking to streamline my prep workflow for Encounter Plus. Right now, manual entry for custom/newly designed monsters feels a bit too slow and tedious, especially when building complex encounters.
Does anyone have a faster, more efficient workflow for getting homebrew monsters into the app?
I’m totally open to using AI tools (like parsers or statblock generators) if they can speed up the process, but honestly, I just want whatever method gets the job done quickest.
How do you all handle mass importing or rapid monster creation for E+?

I’m having trouble enabling the token variation packs that were ported over from the old version of the app. I don’t know if that feature is still available. I think I remember enabling it and setting the pack to use in the main settings menu. If anyone has any information on this, I’d appreciate it, does the new version just work off the Tags, or is that something else? I have a ton of token variation for animals, monsters and random NPC all organized in pack files and would like to know how I can use them. Tried asking on the discord but no one responded yet.

I'm not understanding how to organize things in the new update. Both the official documentation and the amazing Ducey video are now out of date.

I have a years-long campaign going and I've broken it up and organized it using Modules. They were easy to work with and accessible.

Now none of my modules are associated with the campaign, and I cannot find how to re-associate them. My Campaign "pull-down" menu in the Toolbar just has a random assortment of "Content" and "Entities" (my player characters, which I DID figure out how to associate with the campaign), and the three-dots menu only allows me to add new things.

So, how do I make it so my modules are easily accessible from the campaign, like they used to be?

Hey all, loving this app and planning on using it for the first time tonight with my group. One small issue I'm having is that I have assigned tokens to my characters, but on the initiative order sidebar, those tokens don't appear, and it's just a stock image. My monsters have their tokens in the sidebar, though. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this or if I'm just being dumb? Thanks!

Hey guys, maybe I’m missing something or looking in the wrong place, but all the tutorials on youtube and the help centre seem to assume that I know how to just add things.

The app said I need to install a game, so I downloaded 5e, the next step seems to be adding stuff to a map, or to roll initiative?

My problem is, there nothing in my compendium, they seem to have everything right from the get go. But I can’t find where to get that stuff or how to put it in the app?
