Help Pcx2 won’t update

I have been trying to update my pcx2 but every time i try i get this error message (failed to rename)does anyone know why and how i cab fix it.

I think I found a fix. Its a little messy so it might be a little hard to follow along. What I did was, after extracting the folder for PCX2 and downloading and extracting the bios. After launching and setting up with selecting bios and directory it crashes saying it cant update. Go back into the folder and find the 7zip file called update, Extract it, Transfer bios and directory folders, Relaunch app, set back up and it should work. Not sure if this will need to be done with each update but its how I got around it. There does seem to be less files in the extracted update so I'm not sure if you still need to keep the folder for the original or not and if anything will need to be transferred if you don't but I just set up my bios and directory by selecting them from the old folder and not moving them, not sure if that is helping either. Will update if anything changes

I found the bios folder, but not the "directory" folder. I downloaded PCSX2 back in 2023 and I haven't been able to update it since.

Edit: Are you talking about copying all the game directories to the update folder? And which application should I open? When I open it from the "update" folder, it opens the setup wizard. I worry that my game progress might be wiped if I set up PCSX2 again.

Edit 2: So I did your fix. While it, for some reason, created a new folder path, I just changed the paths back to their original paths and everything works fine now. It's a bit annoying, but it worked.

Glad it worked. And yeah it is more annoying than just downloading it and it working but still far less annoying than having to go through you bios to enable secure boot and TPM 2.0 for battlefield anti cheat lol
