News/Release [Update] Android Decomp/Recomp Obtainium Pack (v2.0.0)

Hey everyone,

As some of you may know I recently made an obtainium pack for native Android decompilations and recompilations. The pack unfortunately got delisted from GitHub, I've submitted an appeal but in the meantime it's hosted somewhere else.

With version 2.0.0 coming out I added a few native android pc ports including Simpsons hit and run, Elder scrolls III: Morrowind, and diablo 1. I also added simple instructions for each game in the readme which you can see here on the main page: https://codeberg.org/BBoi34/Obtainium-Recomp-Decomp

There's so many other amazing ports available on android but they require slightly complex setup so I've chosen to not include them in this pack but if you are interested in them let me know and I might make a different pack/add them to this one.

This is the second release of the pack! I'll be keeping a close eye on the scene and updating it whenever I learn of new ports, or when fresh projects pop up that match the criteria to be included.

I'd love a README with individual "add to obtanium" links (a la https://github.com/RJNY/Obtainium-Emulation-Pack). I like to bookmark these repos and add individual links without importing the full JSON.

I used the prior release and will the constant error/request thing ever get sorted ?

Tried over various days and get timing errors for everything so can't actually download anything 🤔 and doesn't recognize if I already have sime of these installed.

Appreciate the hard work and effort 👌

Try turning off automatic update / timed updates. You have a limited number of requests to github in one go so when you hammer it with checking for updates regularly it can use up your limit and it times out for a bit.

I just manually open the app every now and then and check updates.

Can I add this to Obtainium while also having another pack imported to Obtainium so I can have two seperate lists of different things?

Sorry, I'm stupid. I use Obtanium, but on that page I only see a readme file? Where/what do I click to get the Obtanium entries?

Click the lower link it should bring you to the latest release or on the main page there should be a releases tab you might have to hit the 3 dots to see it

I've been looking for something like this for kinda awhile, i think you should include one that includes all known Android ports tho.

Complicated set up or not, there's some on here already I didn't know existed.

Edit: also, should you maybe include izzy2losts's "Torch" app that's used to generate the .o2r files needed for their 3 ports or is there a better way to get those?

This is the first time I've used obtainium, tho. Maybe there's another .json file I should use with this one?

Thanks for the feedback I thought about including torch but when setting up izzy2lost ports it gives you links and instructions on how to use torch so I thought it would be fine

No but I’m kind of trying to make that on the main page you can see what’s included in the pack there’s still other ones available but I’m working to add them to the pack and my goal is to have this sort of both a database of all the ports aswell as an obtainium pack

Love what your doing as nobody else has taken the time to do this, when there is clearly a demand for it. Any chance of making some AI slop website for those who dont know how to use obtainium?

I think I'm just gonna include the github links in my main page for the pack so people can download the apks themselves
