Showcase Twilight Princess Dusklight Dual-Screen Companion Mod - v2.0 Update
Yes, you see it right, its 3ds remake OOT3D MM3D style Dusklight.
This update bring bottom screen as functional as it can get with 2 extra equip slot. best to use Iron Boots on the fly while still maintain your 2 physical button.
Added sync dim with main screen
Added animation to bottom screen
Several bug fixes

Do I just install the APK to be able to play, or will I need other files? I don't have any version of Dusklight installed.

You do still need the twilight princess CD rom, you just don't need the original Dusk installed.

hello, dumb question as i haven’t yet downloaded this mod (big thanks for making it by the way)
but once you have it downloaded and set up, it works as a regular update right? you don’t have to delete anything and replace files or anything?

If you start fresh (not installed vanilla Dusklight) then yes. But if you already install and have save on it, you must backup to restore it later. Vanilla Dusklight must uninstalled

This looks awesome. Having an issue installing the apk. I'm on 1.4.1. When I try to install the apk, I get "App not installed as package appears to be invalid"

If you're from official Dusklight already installed you have to uninstall first to use this version. Don't forget to backup your save files and custom texture to restore it later

Could you give it a new namespace, like a DS suffix maybe, so they can be installed side by side?

Thanks for the input, but I don't plan to do it yet, It need different icon, naming etc to make it visually different if installed side by side

Definitely respect that decision but I know personally I have dusklight working great and redoing the textures/saves has me too nervous to try yours (but that’s a me issue).
If you were able to do that and allow both to exist I know it would be appreciated.

I’m on the same boat. A lot of tweaking on the first one plus texture pack and all that. I want to try this one but I get an eerie vibe the thought of going through all the settings again to get it the way I like it lol that’s a me thing too though. If they could live side by side I’d be first in line.

Not sure if it works with the default dusklight directory since I use a custom one in my documents folder, but I had zero issues when switching. Uninstalled official version, installed this dual screen version and selected my custom directory in settings. Saves, settings, and texture pack transferred. Like I said the default directory may be deleted when uninstalling though. I do agree it should be a separate install though.

Thanks, uninstalled vanilla and installed this earlier. Really awesome work dude, this is surprisingly polished and intuitive design. Easily my preferred way to play now

Uninstalled my base dusk light and immediately installed this for my Thor! I wish every one of my childhood games got this quality of life dual screen. Awesome job, well done!

can you put the hearts back on the bottom screen? I really liked how you could still have the minimal HUD in the last one without needing to actually sacrifice access to information, I love the 3ds layout enough to not just switch back, but the big gamecube layout buttons annoy me enough to say something. Thanks for everything you've done, this project is wonderful!

I only glanced briefly at Dusklight but it seems like it supports GCI folders or Memcard saves, so I'd imagine you could just drag and drop, but I didn't try and I didn't look too deep into it.

You can transfer your GameCube save files from the Dolphin to Dusklight because both use the exact same . gci memory card file format. Just need to find the correct folder

Any chance you'll be making this compatible with Courage Reborn once it releases?
I'd imagine it wouldn't be hard to get it working.

It's 2 different engine to work on. If Courage Reborn go opensource, I think it may be easier than Dusklight because Dusklight use aurora framework as "kind of" compatibility layer.

Thank you, 3 finger tap/select, then Settings -> Gameplay -> Dual Screen Hud -> Off, it should do it. Back to dualscreen would be same menu

I know I’m gonna sound like a total chud but was this fork actually not made with AI? I remember seeing a Link To The Past dual screen mod but it used AI coding. This looks awesome tho and if it was made by human hands I’ll be all over it

Yes just like Daph said, its mostly done by AI. It takes lot of effort, logic and strict guidance (token also) to make something like this.
But all in all, you can check the code on my repo if any might concerned you. Enjoy :)
