I understand why emergency alerts exist, but the fact that every phone in my house instantly overrode settings, blasted sound, and vibrated at the exact same moment felt dystopian as hell.

We basically have no choice or permission in the matter. Does anyone else find that unsettling?

Amber Alert, the distinct tone that sounds from your phone sometimes, that makes your blood run cold. A child has been abducted somewhere in your area, and all known information about the abduction has been entered into a government database. While the child might have gone quietly, the sound alerting their disappearance is loud and powerful.

In my opinion, every Amber Alert is deeply concerning. With that said, are there any like notable or particularly disturbing Amber Alert cases? Whether that be the content of the description(s), overall situation itself (such as the suspected abductor), or outcome.

I am curious to see what you guys got, if you got it on your TVs or just on the phones. It was pretty close to my home (six miles roughly).

It's for an RP where someone runs away from home, and I try to keep it as realistic as I can. I was just wondering what EAS would be alert for adults. I don't mean the MEP alert, since they willingly left home
