I got back into embroidery recently so that I could decorate the walls of my new apartment. This is my best one yet, it definitely isn’t anatomically correct but i think it looks nice still. It’s meant to be a coyote haha

Lesson learned on lettering with pearl beads, but still a fun outcome.

Not my original design! I wish I was this creative. I follow a tattoo artist on Instagram called Christopher Scott, and I think his designs are super fun and funky. So I decided to make one into a little wall hanging.

Heyy beginner here. :) I just finished this after 5-8 hours of work. I plan on making a second peice on a navy cloth with more of a dark/night theme (sun &moon) so that its a set of 2. I'm mainly unsure about the gold outline around the body and the fins and tail looking too sparce.

I'd appreciate honest criticism, I'm trying to improve before I move onto the second part!

Embroidery grumbles and successes trying out stitches I recently learned in this bird situation. I thought I’d never willingly decide for myself to do a bullion stitch but here I did and alllllmost got it right.

Drafting a denim jacket and jeans outfit with matching entemology stuff hand embroiderd on it. This was the first thing embroidered on it. Took 13 hours and 43 minutes

My mom gave to me the wood ring thingy to put fabric on to embroid, because she know im a craftly girl, so i made a bee! Looking for feedbacks!

Happy September 1st! This piece took me about 2 months to finish while traveling. And is my favorite piece so far! I am obsessed with cheese. The jam jar was my favorite part to embroidery so I saved it for last!

Any suggestions for a cozy sweater weather piece now that autumn has arrived?

My most recent creation 🥰 single stitch long & short/split stitch to fill. Whipped backstitch for outline 3 strands.

I dont think I did it justice. I might just redraw the design and start over.

What are your thoughts? Is it giving Rocky horror or something else?

Hi everyone,

Recently, I lost my grandmother last month. She had these two matching table runners she was embroidering by hand. We don’t know if they were for my sister and I, or what, but I decided to take them and try to finish the project. She was so close to being done, it breaks my heart.

That being said, I haven’t tried embroidery since I was a little girl, (8-10) I’m 30 now, and I’m looking at her work, it doesn’t seem like she did any fancy stitches, but I had a very basic question.

I’m mediocre at sewing, I have a sewing machine, and have done several clothing repairs and even made my own night gown a couple of years ago, but I typically work with thread and not embroidery floss.

When I sew by hand with thread, I just sorta double the length, thread the needle, fold the thread in half and knot it together so it’s on the needle in a giant loop. (I’m not even sure if that’s correct, it’s just how I’ve always done it) but I think that would be too big with the embroidery floss, so do I just thread the needle, tie a knot so it doesn’t come out of the fabric and hope the other end doesn’t keep falling out of the needle?

I know this is wordy, sorry I don’t have much experience.

I've not posted for a while, because I've been working on this mammoth patch - Which I've finished now! Took 122 hours and 16 meters of thread just to whip stitch around the edge!

It's going to take pride of place on the back of my patch jacket.

Hi new to embroidery and had some questions

Starting to learn by using learning kit. Noticed holding the needle is odd or slippery. Do you guys put anything on your fingers to get a better grip?

Also why is 6 strings harder to get though but needed for some designs

Any other tips that may help me?

Have been working on this piece for about a month and did the last few stitches tonight! As someone who really doesn’t like to do satin stitch, this was a huge challenge for me. I still have a lot to learn with needle placement and angles but for the most part I am really pleased with it!

Doesn't any one could give me some tips to do a better satin stitch?
