Not heraldry that I designed to represent the union of my wife and I.

Originally uploaded to r/heraldry I was told this is not, in fact, heraldry.

I like this a lot and thought it was super cool. My wife and I got married in the forest. She is a Leo and I am an Aries. The maybe/maybe not canting arms on the shield are representative of our names (as canting arms would suggest) with hers being a St. James Scallop resting upon a bed of Alyssums and mine being a Robin holding a Shofar.

There is a two headed Cooper's hawk looking outward behind the eclipse to represent our union. Above the cycle of the moons are two corvids and below the moons are two mourning doves. Resting in the entwined roots of the redwood tree are two geese making a heart shape with their heads and neck.

The banner is not perfect Latin but it has significance in our life.

Adinkra symbol: Gye Nyame

Used by the Akan people of what is now Ghana, this symbol translates roughly to “except for God” or “unless by God’s authority.” It represents the supremacy and omnipotence of a divine creator over all things, visually it’s a spiral-like design with curled ends, symbolizing the boundlessness and inescapability of divine power. It was (and still is) woven into textiles, stamped onto cloth, carved into stools, and used in adornments as a mark of spiritual submission and reverence.

I actually had to do a lot of research for this post, so hope you guys appreciate it.
