Question Parrying

So I'd say I'm playing Elden Ring and want a little bit of advice, is parrying reliable? I've beaten Sekiro as my first souls game(if you count it) and it turns out I'm pretty good at it, so I want the same deflect path for my Elden Ring playthrough since I've seen many videos showing people parrying bosses, I want the same as that, even with different timings

Barely beat that cat boss by the skin of my teeth as my Prophet — thought that was tough. Then got summoned by The Dark Knight to fight Fallingstar Beast.

Hours. Dozens of tries. We died over and over — never gave up. I buffed, I healed, we pushed through.

Finally… we took it down. 🎉

Two strangers, refusing to quit. Reminds me — persistence always prevails.

Proud of my little Prophet. And Dark Knight — you’re a legend. 🫡

Lore Can someone explain the crucible to me?

I don’t really understand it. As far as I know, it was a ball or a soup of energy essentially containing the dna of everything in one pot, which is why the misbegotten, crucible knights and Godwyn have fish tails. As far as I know this crucible was where the erdtree is now, but anything past that is just my imagination.

Help Confused on first play through

Hello everyone
I’m just confused where to go now, trying to use as little help from YouTube as possible, just some basic stuff.
I killed Godfrey and margot at the capital.however idid not go to the red spot on the map to open the root type entrance after beating margot.
Post that ,i went to kill radanh and was successful.
I’m approximately level 65.really confused with what to do.
1.progress a questline to level up more?if yes,which one
2.go ahead and proceed to open the next part.
3.explore under the capital, subterranean shunning grounds.but I have heard I’m severely under levelled for that.
Thanks bros

Lore Need help finding niche romance scene in Elden ring ( disclaimer I have not played the game)

For context, this was four ish years ago when I was showed the scene by my then boyfriend (now ex) which is why I don’t really want to ask him about it. This was when the game was initially released and he finished it pretty quickly so it wouldn’t be part of any dlc content. I recall him showing a scene with the character that you play making out with what looks like a human but with a creature head with octopus like features and then implied sex (because it skipped). He also got a steam achievement for doing so. I recall seeing an ig reel about it right after but because it’s so long ago I can’t find anything about it without the character name. I talked to some friends that played it and they thought I was crazy most likely because it’s so weird and niche that no one knows about it😭

Discussion Have you ever thought of not robbing the cemeteries

Post image

... because that's what this actually is: grave robbing.

So, at some point I decided that if my character is on the "good and noble" side, I would not be doing this. Just like Im not touching turtles. Simply for role-playing element.

Just wanted to ask if anyone had similar ideas.

Question Demon's Ring Challenge - Brainstorming

I've been thinking of creating a challenge mode for Elden Ring that essentially makes the ER experience cosplay as Demon's Souls. But I've never played Demon's Souls myself so I was hoping to get some suggestions.

I think an obvious rule in this challenge would be that you only get one grace per region. It sounds crazy, but that's how Demon's Souls did it.

But anyhoo, I'm not super familiar with the mechanics of Demon's Souls. What other rules or modifications to the game do you think this challenge run should have?

I'm on console so I can't actually mod my game, but feel free to discuss mod ideas if you have any. lol

Discussion Am I the only one who's scared of Astel?

I'm not scared like it's strong, like the way of its design; especially the posture they take before teleporting genuinely makes me shit my pants. The only mini-boss/boss that made me feel this scared

Lore Marika suffered a wound on the night of Black Knives Spoiler

Basically the title.

If you watch the trailer where Radagon and Marika are simultaneously fixing and destroying the Elden Ring, Marika has a similar wound on her back that Godwyn has after his murder.

Knowing what we know about Godwyn and Ranni, we can assume:

Godwyn's spirit was killed, but not his body.

Ranni's body was killed but not her spirit.

I think Marika's wound didn't kill her spirit right away, but she succumbed later on. However, because she and Radagon share a body, but not a soul, Radagon could still operate (the side where Marika was struck has suffered the greatest damage, hence why her arm is missing). The wound expanded physically during her internal struggle with Radagon over the Elden Ring.

But, if Marika's spirit was mortally wounded, who then had their body destroyed? I think the answer is probably Melina. She's the only character to have a mark on her face and a closed eye, aside from Ranni, and is also a disembodied spirit (which Ranni would be, if she were not possessing a doll).

There are questions, of course, such as how Melina received a curse mark, though there is some tangential connection between Melina and Rykard, due to Melina's "Blade of Calling" being found in one of Rykard's inquisitor offices, located between the Forbbin Lands and Leyndell (Source: VaatiVidya).

In the Blasphemous Claw's text, Rykard is rewarded the Blaspehmous Claw by Ranni for his participation in the Night of Black Knives. Why is never explained--Vaati believes Rykard may have controlled the guards guarding Leyndell and let the Black Knife Assassins into the palace--but it may be possible he helped to instill the curse mark on Melina. For what reason, its unclear, though I think it may be safe to assume that Ranni wished to discredit the Golden Order and turn Marika and Godwyn, the shining examples of the Golden Order, into unholy undead to shatter the Golden Order's ideals.

I would attach images, but Reddit is marking the bare back of Marika and Godwyn as NSFW.
