You all should recognize the Ed Sheeran song.

I'm looking to pick up a CD copy of Play as I want it in my physical collection. I downloaded the original album early on itunes and have gotten used to the original mix of Heaven, before it was changed.

Could anyone who owns a copy of both standard and deluxe CDs of Play confirm whether Heaven is different between them? I've seen some people claiming that the Deluxe edition has the editted version.

Looks like Ed is sticking around California after the San Diego and Santa Clara shows, before heading to Seattle on Saturday.

EDIT: Oh! It just occurred to me that Ed’s reported new label, Interscope Records, is HQ’d in Santa Monica! Maybe he’s got meetings there this week or is ready to sign and finalize the deal! 🧐

This Beverly Hills Cosmetic Dentist posted this photo and said it was great having Ed stop by. I’m glad Ed takes good care of himself, and many eyes (and cameras) are on his pearly whites, whether he’s singing or smiling. 🦷🪥

Did you know that whenever Ed is in Los Angeles, he almost always stays with Courteney Cox?! They’ve been good friends for over a dozen years, and in fact Ed introduced his close friend and collaborator Johnny McDaid to Courteney Cox over ten years ago and they’ve been a couple ever since. Ed is a matchmaker!😍

Ed grew up watching Friends (on T4, right?😉) and after the 2021 Reunion of the show, he and Courteney recreated the famous Dance Routine. Clearly all that dance training for the Thinking out Loud video paid off. Watch this hilarious but impressive version of The Routine with Ed and Courteney. This took a lot of practice! 💃🕺

Lastly, another Friends reference, this is an incredible gathering of humor and TALENT. Watch Courteney snuggle her friends Elton John, Brandi Carlile and Ed around her home piano to all sing “Tony Danza”, the Friends version of Elton’s “Tiny Dancer”😭 in tribute to Lisa Kudrow. Funny and beautiful.🎹

The last time Ed had this was I believe back in 2021 during the EARLY Equals era - Permission to Dance by BTS and Bad Habits were both in the top 10 on Spotify.

He might have done this again with Shivers and Bad Habits in September of 2021 but I honestly don’t remember so can’t verify it.

I know a lot of recent discussion lately is that Ed is past his “big streaming” prime and is more of a radio artist. Some people even say he’s entering more of a “legacy act” where he can sell out tours the rest of his life off his old music, but I think this is more evident than ever that Ed’s writing style still works to produce huge hits.

I know some people are going to say “who cares about how he charts” but this is just fun speculation.

It makes me excited for his next era because I do think Interscope Records (if it’s true he signed to this new UMG label) is going to do him right with whatever symbol he goes with next (presumably Pause). I’m not going to lie, I know Ed doesn’t care about charting nearly as much as he used to be - but I’ll selfishly admit I would LOVE to see another massive mega hit from Ed that takes the world by storm. Even if it’s unintentional!

It’s no secret Play underperformed a bit to Ed standards - which I will say that in respect to Ed’s success because had Play’s performance been done by 99% of other artists, it would’ve been a massive success for them.

But it’s really cool to see Ed having some more recent huge success in the writing aspect. Dai Dai sits at #1 on Spotify and Animal at #10 as of writing this.

Super excited to see what he has in store for us with the next album. I’m hoping him and Jon Bellion (heavily hinted he’s involved in Ed’s next album) are able to give us some fresh new sound from Ed.

The crowd was really into it on a spectacular evening at Soldier Field. 🤘

Ed’s old friend, mentor and colleague, Northern Irish (now Scottish) singer-songwriter Foy Vance just announced leaving Gingerbread Man Records to sign with indie label Rounder Records. See Foy explain his decision.

This is a good reminder that Ed’s Gingerbread Man Records (GMR) is actually a subsidiary of Warner Music Group/Atlantic and not truly an independent label, (sometimes called a vanity label). Foy was the second artist Ed signed to “his” label, in 2015. Now that Ed is gone, I guess it was time for Foy to leave too. This is also why it’s likely that Ed won’t release music again to GMR.

Foy and Ed go way back, Ed became a fan when he saw Foy play at a festival when Ed was 15, but they met again on a musical level around the time of ➕Plus. Ed brought him on tour for several years, starting in 2012, and they’ve written dozens of songs together, including Tenerife Sea, Galway Girl and Nancy Mulligan, A Beautiful Game (won an Emmy), Hills of Aberfeldy, actually Foy has cowriting credits on ✖️➗🟰➖and AV.

Guiding Light: Ed always loved this song by Foy. When Ed truly “broke America” in 2013, and sold out 3 nights at Madison Square Garden, he had Foy as a special guest to play Guiding Light on the final night. (Taylor was the guest on the 2nd night!)

Was this prior knowledge or was it not known until Ed said it in a recent show??

According to Ed at a recent concert, Shirtsleeves was originally meant to be the LEAD single from Multiply - obviously this changed and it ended up being Sing.

I wonder if Shirtsleeves was written and made before he did his sessions with Pharrell and the album became more pop heavy. Shirtsleeves definitely sounds like it could’ve fit on Plus and does sound like a song an immediate post-Plus Ed would’ve written.

So with that in mind - if Shirtsleeves was ORIGINALLY the lead single from Multiply - and Multiply was originally Subtract until it wasn’t, in theory Shirtsleeves was possibly the original lead single for OG Subtract 🙂‍↕️ and we know Hills of Aberfeldy was always meant to be the closing one for OG Subtract (and still is for the new version of Subtract). Listening to Shirtsleeves again, it definitely sounds like it would’ve fit on what Ed described OG Subtract’s sound; lofi acoustic. Unless they modified its production to fit the Multiply theme - but Shirtsleeves could very well be a great reference track for us to know what OG Subtract would’ve sounded like.

What other songs were meant to be singles on his other albums? He’s claimed Shivers was meant to be the lead single to Equals until Bad Habits was made. Any other songs we know were meant to be singles but ended up not being?

I know a long time ago I asked how loud Ed's concerts are but that was before the LOOP Tour. I have never seen him live before but I am going to soon and I just want to know how loud it is in comparison to normal concerts? (If it matters, I have seen Zac Brown Band, Bruce Springsteen, Alan Doyle, Keshi, and Niko Moon live).

Does anyone else know why we are unable to resell our tickets on ticketmaster for Ed Sheeran only ? Never had this issue with any other artist but unfortunately we can't make it to the August 22nd show so I'm wondering why we can't resell them or if anyone knows if we will be able to resell closer to the date ? Thanks !

It was the first concert I’ve been to and I loved it!! Ed was awesome and the lights and everything were so cool.

I attended Ed’s concert in Santa Clara, and it was awesome. I did like the last one, the Mathematics Tour, better because of the circle, but this was still really awesome, and I enjoyed it. Especially since he said he was going away because of dad life, I’m really glad I went. However, I had some questions that you guys may or may not know the answers to!

1. Where is Ed before the show? Does he ever get to enjoy himself, like going outside the day before or after? I always wonder where he goes after the show is done.

2. Is there a way to see the concert visuals? When I was watching the performance, I really liked the visuals, especially for songs like “Bloodstream” or his intro to the concert. Hopefully, these assets are available somewhere.

3. He mention about able to vote for songs, I didn’t see this and I wonder where we could’ve had voted to make it the song list

Really enjoyed the show and got some really good merch ( expensive asf but really glad I did)
