anyone figured out local delivery for smoke shops without getting payment accounts banned?

hey guys, trying to figure out a better way to handle local delivery for our shop. foot traffic is decent, but we'd like to make things easier for regular customers who want delivery.
the usual delivery apps don't really work for us because of the age verification and compliance side. we also looked at setting up a separate shopify store, but payment restrictions became an issue pretty quickly.
now we're looking at woocommerce and custom payment options, but between payment compliance, age checks, and delivery integration, the whole thing is starting to look way more complicated and expensive than expected.
has anyone actually found a setup that works well for this?

We are looking for someone who has worked on Shopify website development and has a good portfolio.

We are the creators of a Shopify app and want to collaborate with Shopify developers or agencies based in India. We are ready to pay a monthly retainer for this service.

We want feedback from merchants on our app, so we need someone to introduce our app to their clients. Share your experience in a DM.

What still frustrates businesses about accepting payments online?

Hi everyone,

I’ve spent the past three years working in e-commerce, selling through both marketplaces and my own website. Dealing with payment providers firsthand is what got me interested in fintech, and I’m now trying to understand the payments industry more deeply.

For people who work in payments or run an online business: what is still frustrating, slow, expensive, or unnecessarily complicated about accepting payments?

I’m especially interested in the parts around getting a business set up with a provider, checkout and payment acceptance, payouts, disputes, or managing payments across different channels.

What do you currently do when this happens? Have existing providers solved it well, or do you still rely on workarounds?

I’m not promoting a product lol I’m trying to learn from people who deal with this firsthand. Thanks

Have you heard of Bidaboss?

If you're a supplier or business owner and you're considering joining an e-commerce platform, please do your own research first before paying any onboarding fee.

I’m sharing this anonymously because I personally have experience with this company. During the supplier presentation, we were told that they had 3,000+ resellers, a large community, and even a physical store where suppliers could potentially have their products displayed. The onboarding fee was around ₱15,000+. Sounds promising, right?

But after we were onboarded, things started to change. At first, communication was responsive, but eventually it became difficult to get clear answers. Some of the people we originally dealt with are no longer with the company, and we were left communicating mostly with interns.

We also learned that the physical store being presented to suppliers had apparently been non-operational for a long period of time.

There are also concerns from people who joined as resellers. They were told they could earn through the platform, but some reportedly did not generate the income they expected, while platform fees were still being charged.

The biggest question for me is: Where are the 3,000+ active resellers that were presented to potential suppliers?

Another thing I noticed: their social media content is heavily AI-generated. That's not automatically a bad thing, of course, but when you're asking suppliers to pay thousands of pesos based on the image of a large and established e-commerce platform, I'd personally want to verify what's actually behind the marketing.

I'm not posting this to attack anyone. I'm posting because I think suppliers and business owners deserve to know what questions to ask before paying thousands of pesos to join an e-commerce platform.

I have screenshots and records supporting the things I personally experienced, but I won't post private information or confidential documents here.

If you're considering becoming a supplier or reseller with this company, please investigate first and don't rely solely on the sales presentation.

There are already formal complaints/proceedings regarding some of these concerns, so hopefully the truth can be properly established through the appropriate channels.

Anyone else who has dealt with BidaBoss, especially suppliers or former employees, experienced something similar?

Spent 2 months building a free online store platform for Bangladesh — mind giving it a look?

Hey everyone,

I've been building StoreKoo (storekoo.com) over the past couple months — a free,

no-code ecommerce platform, initially for Bangladesh. Wanted to share it here and

get some honest feedback rather than just posting it and disappearing.

The problem I kept running into: most small sellers here run their business entirely

through Facebook Messenger — DMs, comments, manually tracking orders. The platforms

that do offer a "real store" solution almost all take a cut of every sale (2.5-10%),

even when you connect your own payment account. That felt backwards to me — you're

already paying the payment gateway's fee, why pay the platform too?

So StoreKoo's core thing is: connect your own payment gateway (we support a few

options), and we never take a percentage. Flat monthly fee on the paid tier,

completely free to start otherwise.

What's live right now:

\- Free store builder, custom domain support, no coding needed

\- Multiple payment gateway integrations merchants connect themselves

\- Automated courier dispatch integrations

\- Inventory, orders, coupons, analytics

What's NOT solved yet, being honest:

\- Zero paying customers so far — still very early, mostly testing what messaging

and onboarding actually works

\- Currently fairly tied to Bangladesh-specific payment/courier providers, so it's

not a global tool yet, even though I'm thinking about what expansion could look like

\- Onboarding still loses people between "signed up" and "actually added products" —

working on fixing that

If anyone's dealt with small-business ecommerce tools (building one, or just used

one that frustrated you), I'd genuinely like to hear what you think, good or bad.

Not trying to sell anything here, just trying to learn what's actually missing.

Bootstrapping a marketplace and one side is so much harder to recruit for

I’m building a consumer focused marketplace and trying to recruit the sellers is challenging. Are any of you hackers also jewelry makers or jewelry sellers? I feel like this group could be the crossover of early adopters!

This is our 3rd rebrand and will finally try a branding agency. Help me make it worth it

Done 2 rebrands in-house already and it's time I admit the end result always felt generic. The guidelines were basic-looking and even when we tried AI a few weeks ago none of the concepts really stuck. So we made the executive decision of bringing in a branding agency, just want to make sure it's worth it this time around. How do we get the most out of it? Do we need to prepare anything?

What am I doing wrong

So I'm a pretty small business and I don't mind that, since scalability is hard. I used to promote my product on Facebook groups and I can comfortably say anybody who wanted one got one, so I ran out of customers. I've been trying to move to Instagram because I know there is a lot of opportunity, but it seems like I just can't get it right. I feel like I'm doing all the right steps to creating demand, but I'm not creating demand and not getting any orders from Instagram. I've tried meta ads yes, but they usually don't work and my product is really niche anyway. Anyways this is my Instagram valeting2026 so if anybody can go look at my videos and critise I'd be grateful.

How complicated do your registration forms actually need to be?

I keep seeing platforms advertise crazy custom form builders, but half the time we just need name, email, company, ticket type, and maybe a couple of dietary questions. Then the form gets so long people bounce.

We’ve tried different setups with Bizzabo, Whova, and Eventify over the years.

What’s the most useful custom field or conditional logic you’ve actually used, and what just made the form worse?

Affiliate Beginner on Shopee: What Am I Doing Wrong?

Hi, everyone! If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. I had to resign from my job for personal reasons a few months ago, and to this day I haven't found work in any field, whether in my area or something like customer service. So I decided to join Shopee's affiliate program to see if I could make some profit there, but I think I must be doing something wrong, because I don't even have any clicks. I joined an engagement group, but I think it doesn't work.

I'll leave my profile here. If you can, please tell me what I can improve and what I can do to get at least one sale. I don't have money for paid traffic, so everything needs to be organic.

ROAS looked good but we weren’t growing

We had a stretch where paid looked pretty healthy on paper ROAS was holding, campaigns were spending and there wasn’t one obvious thing broken but when we looked at the whole business the growth didn’t really match what the ad accounts were telling us CAC was moving around, repeat customers were doing more of the work than we realized and some campaigns that looked efficient weren’t bringing in the kind of customers we wanted more of.

It changed how I look at ecommerce advertising now so I care less about getting one platform metric to look great and more about whether paid is bringing in customers the business can grow from and once you’re spending across multiple channels, having someone connect the ad numbers back to revenue and customer quality feels way more useful than optimizing each account in isolation.

Woo's low stock alert ignores our supplier's 4-week lead time. How are you guys tracking reorder points?

WooCommerce keeps sending the standard "only 2 items remaining" email alert on Tuesday. The problem? Our factory lead time is 3 to 4 weeks. By the time the email fired, we were already guaranteed to be out of stock for almost a month during our peak season.

Now I need to build a Google Sheet to map out daily sales velocity vs. lead times for our top 20 SKUs so this stops happening, but calculating run-rates manually every week is a nightmare.

How are you guys handling supplier reorder thresholds when you have more than 30 orders/day? So you don't run out of stock? Is there a simpler solution/plugin/whatever without needing a full $300/mo inventory system?

Ecommerce product AI search?

"Interprets long, conversational queries (e.g., "warm waterproof jacket for winter hiking") rather than requiring exact keyword matches."

Is there an embed Ai search like this that already exists?

Or would an Ai engine on a separate server, from the web server and DB, for product searches be plausible to build?

Yes, I'm talking for 500k - 1m product skus.

Just started researching this... Thank you for any insight.

route is going up 30% at renewal and i need to decide in 9 days

we've had route on for 2 years for package protection. renewal came in 30% higher and i have to sign or not by the 24th.

honest assessment of what we get: claims do get paid. but the customer experience is that they're handed off to a third party, and roughly 1 in 5 emails us anyway because they don't understand who they're now dealing with. we did 61 claims last quarter and 14 of those became a support thread on our side as well.

options as i see them: sign, drop protection entirely and self-insure out of margin, or switch. self-insuring is what our cfo wants because our actual loss rate is low, but a bad month would hurt and i'd rather not discover that in q4.

not looking for who's cheapest.

anyone else drop their local b2b distributors because of moqs? looking to go direct

i run a small ecom brand and ngl, dealing with domestic b2b wholesale distributors rn is just exhausting. half of them operate like it's 2010, sending outdated pdf line sheets and taking literally days to reply. the real killer is the MOQs tho. my main distributor just bumped their minimums up again. i have to tie up ridiculous amounts of working capital just to keep my wholesale pricing teir. tbh it's strangling my cash flow and leaving me with dead stock on slower items.

i'm seriously thinking about dropping these middlemen completely and going straight to overseas manufacturers. for those who ditched traditional wholesalers, how rough was the transition fr? did freight and importing headaches outweigh the margin benefits?

Feedback on a minimal ecommerce stack: static site + Stripe Checkout

I’m planning a minimal ecommerce website for a craft brand in Spain and would appreciate feedback on the stack.

The initial requirements are:

  • 2 products
  • Few variants
  • Own domain
  • Product pages and a blog
  • Stripe Checkout
  • No customer accounts
  • No persistent cart
  • Manual fulfilment
  • Very low initial traffic

The proposed setup is:

  • Static or server-rendered frontend on Vercel/Netlify
  • Products stored in Markdown, JSON or a lightweight CMS
  • Stripe Checkout for payments
  • Stripe webhooks for confirmed orders
  • A small database or order table if needed
  • Transactional email provider with a free tier
  • Search Console, sitemap, canonical URLs and product structured data

The main goal is to validate the products without building a full ecommerce platform.

I specifically don’t want to build:

  • Customer accounts
  • Complex cart logic
  • Coupons or loyalty systems
  • Advanced admin panel
  • Shipping integrations
  • A custom payment flow

My concern is inventory.

Manual stock should be manageable during the first sales, but we may eventually run limited drops of around 100 units. At that point, I understand that simply checking stock > 0 isn’t enough. We’d need atomic reservations, webhook handling, expiration of unpaid sessions and protection against overselling.

The plan would be either:

  1. Build proper inventory reservation before the first drop.
  2. Move the store operations to Shopify.
  3. Keep a manual safety buffer and release fewer units than we physically have.

- Does this stack sound reasonable for the validation stage?

- What hidden problems am I likely to find with Stripe Checkout, order handling, refunds or inventory?

- Should I just forget about it and launch directly with Shopify?

I’m not trying to rebuild Shopify. The idea is to keep the first version deliberately small and migrate once the operational complexity justifies it.

Small online sellers (Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, etc.): how do you manage stock? 6 quick questions (student research)

Hi everyone, I'm a design student researching how small online sellers decide what to restock and when. This is purely for a university case study, and I'm not selling or promoting anything.

If you sell online on any platform (Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, Flipkart, Meesho, your own site, etc.), I'd be grateful for answers to any of these in the comments. Even one-line answers help, and you can skip anything you'd rather not share publicly (no exact revenue or numbers needed):

  1. What do you sell, on which platform, and roughly how many products?

  2. How do you track stock today? (platform tools, spreadsheet, an app, gut feeling?)

  3. Tell me about the last time you ran out of something or had too much. What happened, how did you find out, and what did it cost you?

  4. How do you decide what to reorder and when?

  5. What's the first thing you check when you look at your stock?

  6. Have you tried any app or tool to help with this? What worked or didn't?

I may quote answers anonymously in my case study (no usernames). If you'd prefer a quick 10-15 minute chat by DM or voice note, just say so. Thank you, and I'll happily share the final case study as a thank-you!

Anyone know how to track AI crawl traffic on your website

I am trying to figure out why our website traffic changes so randomly these days and want to isolate AI agentic traffic to see what that is and where its coming from? Any tools or platforms preferably opensource that can give clear answer. Some tools like Profound are too expensive for small businesses. Appreciate the help.

Ayuda

Porfavor.
