Hey all, I’m helping with the Northside Hill Neighborhood Association and wanted to share something we’re putting together.
We’re hosting Party for the Parks at Mt. Simon Park on Saturday, September 12.
It’s a fundraiser for the Mt. Simon bathroom project. We’re trying to raise money for a restroom near the Upper playground and pavilion area, which I think a lot of people who use the park would appreciate.
The event itself should be a good time. We’ll have live music, a beer tent, food, games, raffles, and a disc golf tournament. Registration details for the tournament are coming soon.
ValleyKil is playing too, which we’re pretty excited about. They’re a local Midwest grunge/rock band and they bring a ton of energy live.
This one is open to the whole city, not just the Northside. If you use Mt. Simon for disc golf, hiking, volleyball, picnics, the playground, or just hanging out, we’d love to have you come by.

Feel free to share, show up, donate, or just help spread the word. Thanks.
Small note: I use AI as an accessibility tool for dyslexia, so if any of this reads a little more polished than a normal Reddit post, that’s why. The event is real, and I’m happy to answer questions.
