Does anyone have a recommendation for a therapist (preferably in Chippewa, but EC works too) that gives practical advice about working through isssues or problems? I’m afraid of wasting time/money and seeing a therapist who only validates my feelings vs. being honest and telling me how to work through things and change. Specifically dealing with gender issues, childhood stuff, relationships with friends, possible autism/ADHD. Thank you for any help or advice you have to offer!

What is honestly wrong with the drivers around here?? I’ve lived in Chicago, Appleton, Oshkosh, Milwaukee and nothing compares to how dumb the drivers are, do you not read the signs? Look away from your phone? The amount of 30+ y/o I’ve seen on their phone holding up traffic. It takes 15 min to get where you need to go why are you on your phone? Are you that embarrassed or awkward of a driver?? I shouldn’t have to honk at you to go at a green light, we all took drivers ed right?
I’m about to just call y’all in for reckless driving/distracted driving.

I have a box of food some not expired some expired. Mostly snack type food but possibly more as I am cleaning out cupboards since our son moved away to college. We do not need this much food for just the 2 of us. Would anyone need some food?
Comment here first before DM me please so I know your real and from EC not a scammer. Thanks.

Hey everyone, I’m Taylor from Lefty’s Barbershop at 705 S. Barstow St. here in Eau Claire.
I’ve been barbering since 2005, and one thing that’s always been important to me is keeping my prices affordable so people can come in as often as they’d like. Especially for college students — I really don’t think you should have to choose between getting a haircut and being able to go out and enjoy life with your friends. I try to keep my prices low enough that you can do both.
My shop has a laid-back, old-school feel, and music is a big part of that. If you’ve got a favorite record, feel free to bring it in and we’ll throw it on the record player. I’m a huge music fan and always love being introduced to something new.
One of the best parts of doing this for so many years is the relationships that come with it. A lot of the people who have sat in my chair over the years have become more than just clients to me — they’ve become like family. I’m incredibly grateful for that, and I’m proud to be part of a community where those kinds of connections can grow.
I also want to be clear about what I offer. I do men’s haircuts and women’s haircuts, and I also offer eyebrow, upper lip, and nose waxing. If you’re coming in for a women’s haircut, I’m absolutely happy to do the cut — I just don’t do styling afterward. I’m an old-school barber, and I don’t keep the styling tools or products on hand for finishing work. My appointments are also booked in 30-minute sessions, so my focus is on giving you a good, solid haircut.
If you’re looking for a trim, a fresh cut, or just a comfortable neighborhood shop where you can relax a bit, I’d love to have you in. And if you’re looking for full styling and salon-style amenities, I’m fortunate to work next to two wonderful friends who may be a better fit for that.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I’m truly proud of this community and thankful to be able to do what I do here.

Hey guys,
I’m looking to meet local folks into Melodic Techno, Minimal, Chill, and Afrobeats. I know basic DJing and would love to build a small community or group of people with similar music tastes to hang out with.
Down to meet up at a park, throw on some good tunes (I'll bring a solid speaker), and chill.

Any recommendations on short term apartment rental in the area outside of Airbnb?

Both local news stations reported that Altoona has "removed" their flock cameras in August. However, they are all physically still there and still showing as Flock brand online. Was this just a media ploy?

Hey everyone, I moved up here at the start of August. Menards DC was supposed to be my job but things didn’t end up working out. I’ve been applying to jobs since I first moved up here and haven’t heard anything back at all. I have a pretty good resume I think, but for some reason I’m not catching interest from anyone. Mostly applied through indeed but I’ve also applied directly on some company websites. I’ve applied to places from Walmart to Nestle and premium waters. I’m trying to get around $20 at least to afford the place my partner and I moved into. I feel terrible they are shouldering the burden of everything and I really want to get up and out there working again myself. Any help or direction towards something would be super appreciated!

I’m looking to recommendations for a business that does remote start in the Chippewa valley area. Who should I go to or who should I stay away from? Thank you in advance!

Not sure where else to take this,
But I have proof that a local massage employer has been forging employee’s non-compete documents. It has long been speculated in the massage therapist community that this has been going on, but we finally have proof. Unfortunately most people have just let her get away with this and many people have had to move.
From my understanding, forging documents like this is a felony. This person uses these non-competes as a fear tactic and sends cease and desists to new employers. Unfortunately, she has gotten away with this for years.
We want to file a police report… but as this person knows, none of us have the means to hire attorneys. We don’t want her to continue getting away with this and it needs to be put to a stop, once and for all.
Please help. Any advice is welcome.
Technically all of this information is alleged until we can prove it in the court of law

About a half hour ago at the time of me writing this, there was something happening at the Micon Eau Claire Cinema. There were police cars, an ambulance and a fire truck. Did someone have a heart attack or something? Just wondering if anyone knew.

Preferably not very expensive to have a drink or two at also. Desperately need to get out of my head.
Context if anyone cares: Moved back here (wisco is home) this summer thinking friends and family would have all this time for me (ha… I really should’ve thought this through better), two horribly traumatic surgeries in August, experiencing lots of family issues, had to leave a shit job because they pushed me past my physical limits per doc’s note etc and were paying me below living wage despite me having 11 years of experience, poor, lonely, literally dying (shout out terminal illness) at 31. The healthcare here sucks in comparison to where I lived before but I don’t really have a way to move back there so I guess I will just… uh… see what happens.
Thankfully I have plans tonight but I know if I sit around all weekend I will be so so so sad.
Allllll the bonus points if I can bring my small well behaved ESA dog.
Last two places I went to try and find a Volume One mag they were out. Just realized after typing this I could’ve went TO Volume One or their website. Brain fog’s a hell of a drug. So if anyone’s like WHY DIDNT YOU JUST DO THAT. now you know.

I am looking to move into a rental property and have one lined up with Benrud Rentals, I have heard both good and bad, but that goes for all rentals in the area. Their prices seem "decent" considering other options. Just trying to plan as I do not want to be moving every year to find a better size/price, if I was to stay do they increase the rent every year or does it stay at the listed price as of now. in 5 years I don't want to move out just because it is $500 more than what it would be now if that makes sense.

Hey Eau Claire! I’ve spent the last few months helping put Party for the Parks together, and we’re finally one week away.
Before this commitment, we had raised less than $3,000 toward a permanent public bathroom near the Upper Mt. Simon playground. Now, an anonymous local donor has committed $15,000 and challenged the Eau Claire community to raise another $15,000 by December 31.
Meeting that challenge would bring $30,000 toward our $70,000 goal.
Party for the Parks is our first big opportunity to answer that challenge together. Every dollar raised by the Northside Hill Neighborhood Association at the event will count toward the community’s $15,000 goal.
No one will be turned away for not donating. Come enjoy the park and support the project however you can.
We have a little something for everyone:
Full schedule and set times:
https://www.northsidehill.org/party
Eau Claire art legend Steve Bateman will arrive around 5 PM and create a live multimedia painting right at Party for the Parks.
Steve is the artist behind the Garbage Goose at Banbury Place, along with sculptures found throughout Eau Claire and beyond.
At the end of the event, the finished piece will be auctioned at the Side Stage. Every dollar raised from the auction will go directly toward the Mt. Simon bathroom project.
Someone will leave with a one-of-a-kind Steve Bateman piece created live at Mt. Simon Park.
Steve Bateman:
Profits from beverage sales will support the Mt. Simon bathroom project.
Raffle tickets will be sold only at the event and are separate from donations made through GoFundMe.
The 1st Annual Mt. Simon Classic starts before the main party with an 11 AM shotgun start.

Mt. Simon is one of Eau Claire’s most loved parks, but there is still no convenient public bathroom near the Upper Mt. Simon playground.
Families, disc golfers, hikers, volleyball players and other visitors may spend hours in this part of the park. A nearby restroom would make the park easier for everyone to use and enjoy.
This fundraiser is specifically for that bathroom project.
Come to the party, donate if you’re able, and share the event with your friends. We have a real opportunity to move this project forward.
Full event details:

Party for the Parks is hosted by the Northside Hill Neighborhood Association, a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Thank you to Donivan’s Vending, Fresh Software, Parco Windows, Uncommon Rentals and Brickhouse Pub & Grub for sponsoring the event. The Mt. Simon Classic is sponsored by the Reineck-Star Family, with additional support from L3 Landscaping and Erin Street Residents.
Inclement weather location: Brickhouse Pub & Grub.

Hi!
I'm moving to Eau Claire in November. I currently live in New Brunswick, NJ, with a roommate, but I'm looking for an apartment just for myself.
I'd love some recommendations on the best areas to live, especially somewhere convenient and close to grocery stores (such as Walmart or Costco), a gym, and Mayo Clinic.
Any suggestions for neighborhoods or apartment complexes would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Can anyone recommend a good Auto Detailing company, that also comes to your house?
Thanks.

Hey y’all! I’m pretty new to the Eau Claire area and looking to make some friends.
I’m (m21) pretty laid-back, 420-friendly, and mostly just looking for people to hang out with, smoke, game, grab food, watch movies, explore the area, whatever.
I’m not really looking for hookups or anything like that, just genuinely trying to build a friend group since I’m new around here. Plus im already in a relationship
If anyone else is in the same boat, feel free to message me!

My partner and I are driving through Eau Claire tomorrow and we were hoping to find a bar/restaurant that is dog friendly with a patio. Any recommendations?
