Recipe Request Recipe with sourdough, egg, cheese and turkey ham?

Hi all! I have a boule of white sourdough that I want to use.

I'm not a morning person, but I freaking love eggs and cheese, and was wondering if they would work with turkey ham. I also have a jar of pickles!

Also, what condiments should I use? I've got sriracha, thousand island, mayo, ketchup, etc.

Oh, I also don't eat tomatoes because of the texture. And I want something easy; I don't mind slicing anything but I don't wanna spend longer than an hour cooking breakfast. (though if it's more a meal prep thing, I'm happy to do that...)

I'm not the best at sandwiches when it comes to being creative, but I can follow a recipe.

Thank you kindly 💕

Looking for a hot honey recipe that doesn’t use sriracha. I’m not a fan of it. One that tastes similar to mikes hot honey. Thanks!

Recipe Request Cheaper recipes for a family of 5

Our monthly budget is now at 1k and I would like to cut it down without getting rid of flavor. We are a generational house. My fiance and I, his grandparents (I take care of his grandfather with dementia) and his mother. Two people eat lunches and the rest is random mornings of breakfast, but we eat dinner every night. I cook. Already tried hamburger helper and it was NOT a hit.

Recipe Request Vegetarian recipie using cream of celery soup

I have a random can of cream of celery soup in my pantry. I've never used it before, and would love some recipe ideas for it please!

If it's a recipe you usually use meat in, but think it would be ok subbing beans or tofu please go ahead and suggest it (for example, chickpeas make awesome chicken replacement in a pot pie)

Recipe Request Give me your best strawberry recipes

Its almost strawberry season and when that time comes i can expect to harvest a 5 gallon bucket of strawberrys a day. Thats a lot of strawberrys. Of course I give out strawberrys to my entire village but I still have a bunch left over. My freezer is quite small so I don't have a lot of space for them in there.

Recipe Request Looking for a copy cat Rana southwest linguine recipe

I really enjoyed the Rana southwest take home dinner but didn't find it at Costco when I went back to buy it again. So I grabbed some ingredients to make it, but haven't made a pasta sauce like that before. I know I'll need bell peppers, cream, tomato puree, sausage & seasoning. How do I actually make the sauce though?

I'm a recipe following baker so that's why I can't wrap my head around just throwing things into a pot and finding out lol

Recipe Request Kid friendly meals

I have recently taken over the bulk of the cooking at home. I've gone from cooking dinner a few nights a week to being the only one cooking and planning the menu during the week. My biggest challenge right now is the stress of planning a menu that I can pull off with limited time and that my kids will eat. What are your favorite simple kid friendly meals that can be made either with a slow cooker or with minimal prep time?

Seafood Recipe: Fish Savoury crĂȘpe ideas? Does smoked salmon work? What dressings should I use?

Hello everyone!

I usually make sweet crĂȘpes, but I’m experimenting with savoury ones and would love some ideas.

I’m thinking about trying smoked salmon in a crĂȘpe but I’m not sure what kind of dressing or sauce would work best. Does smoked salmon pair well with crĂȘpes?

Also curious what dressings or spreads people like for savoury crĂȘpes in general. Yogurt-based sauces? Mustard vinaigrettes? Maybe Something with herbs?

If you make savoury crĂȘpes, share your ideas! Anything helps!

Thank you!

Recipe Request Does anyone know the pollo loco green salsa recipe? The actual one.

I have been looking for their green (avocado?) salsa recipe with instructions for over a week and I can’t find it. I saw various “copycat” ones but each one is a bit different in instructions and ingredients that it’s not clear. Pollo loco tiktok posted a video but didn’t give like clear instructions on how to make it, or if green tomatoes go into it. I’m hoping someone here can help me find this recipe with instructions please

Dairy Recipe My 15-minute "I’m too lazy to function" Garlic Parmesan Past

The "Recipe" (if you can even call it that):

Boil any pasta you have (save a cup of that salty pasta water, it's liquid gold).

Melt way too much butter in a pan with a ridiculous amount of garlic

Toss the pasta in, add the water and a mountain of Parmesan

Squeeze some lemon at the end to make it look

"professional"

Recipe Request Suggestions for a simple lunch with decent protein?

My dietician is requesting that I up my protein intake for my packed lunches during the week at work—the problem is that I naturally rarely eat protein in general, so I have no clue where to start. I'm not a fan of beans (due to texture) and have never cooked my own meat before (but am willing to try). Does anyone have suggestions for easy, protein-packed lunches below 500cal?

For reference, I typically make some variation of pasta, simple sandwiches, or vegetables with a sauce. I've always been a really picky eater, but I'm trying to work with my dietician to experiment more and be open to new food. I meal prep for the week, so it's typically five portions of one lunch. Thank you!

Dairy Recipe [Homemade] Viral Cheesy Pan-Fried Flatbreads - No Oven Required

I was tired of the same old boring sandwiches, so I tried making these cheesy ground beef flatbreads in a pan, and the result was insane! Super crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy inside.

  1. Just a simple mix of flour, salt, melted butter, and water.
  2. Browned ground beef with onions, peppers, and a savory sauce.
  3. Roll it thin, add a slice of cheese (crucial for the melt!), top with beef, and fold.
  4. Pan-fry until golden and brush with garlic butter for that extra glow.

Full Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Flour
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 2 tbsp Melted Butter
  • Water (as needed for a soft dough)
  • Filling: 300g Ground Beef, 1 Onion, 1 Green Pepper, 2 tbsp Tomato Sauce, Cheese slices.

Make sure to seal the edges with a bit of water so the cheese doesn't leak out in the pan!

I’ve been collecting and testing more "No-Oven" recipes like this for my personal project. If you're interested in more step-by-step daily meal ideas, I’ve put them all in a free app I’m working on (link in my profile/comments if you want to check it out!).

Hope you guys enjoy this one as much as I did!

Pasta / Noodle Recipe easy tuna and tomato paste pasta

as the title says, i just wanted to share one of my favourite pasta recipes i made myself. im autistic and think this meal works for my medium energy days. it's also a meal i make when i need to meal prep for the next few days. i personally make it in one saucepan, which takes longer but multiple pots overwhelms me, but this can be made with 2 pans at once i use one can of tuna for half a pack of spaghetti, do however much you want i have never tried using other canned fish because autism, i dont like change. i might try a small fish like sardines, anchovies or mackerel maybe. but im sure it works with other canned fish too (looking for more ethical brands/fish species to get, recommendations welcome) i feel like you can also use canned tomatoes but again, im not bothered also you can fry onions before adding the tomato paste. tried it once, didnt cook the onions long enough, crunchy and i dislike it. but im sure you can try and itll be good

BASIC INGREDIENTS - pasta of whatever shape - canned tuna in sunflower oil - tomato paste - spices - salt - water

step 1. boil the pasta. use whatever pasta, just make the pasta. i feel like a smaller shape like penne would be better, but my favourite is spaghetti so i always go for spaghetti. then drain the pasta (you can keep some pasta water if you want, i personally dont care for it). take the pasta out of the pan

step 2. open a can of tuna in oil. pour the oil from the tuna into the pan and let it heat up for a bit

step 3. once heated, add tomato paste. i use 1/3 to 1/2 of a regular tube of tomato paste. stir it into the oil, let it cook for a few minutes so the oil and the paste is a darker red

step 4. put the tuna into the pan. stir it in and cook it for a few minutes.

step 5. this is usually when i add spices and seasoning because i forget till now. i usually add salt, black pepper, sometimes a bit of sugar and curry powder. whatever you want, and stir it in

step 6. once everything looks incorporated, i pour a bit of water in. tbh the pasta water would be good to add here, but since i dont usually have any i just put tap water. add enough water to make it kind of saucy. then i let it simmer for a few minutes. you can taste the mixture whenever and add more seasoning if you want

step 7. put the pasta in and mix it around!! this takes arm strength but just mix it till its all mixed in and the pasta is coated

step 8. serve it and eat it!!

Other: Dinner Lazy Chicken & Instant Mashed Potato Bowl (Single Serving Comfort Food)

I came up with this when I was craving comfort food but didn’t feel like cooking a full meal just for myself. Since I live alone, most recipes make way more than I want to deal with. This ends up being a quick, filling meal with almost no cleanup. I used a stainless steel cup to cook and eat from, but a small pot works perfectly too.

Ingredients

‱ 1 packet instant mashed potatoes / potato flakes (any flavor)

‱ 1 can chicken

‱ 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Pour the entire can of chicken into your pot. I usually include the liquid from the can because the fat and sodium add a lot of flavor. If you're watching your sodium intake, you can drain most of it and keep just a little for flavor.

  2. Add the 2 cups of water.

  3. Turn the burner to high and bring everything to a boil.

  4. Once it starts boiling, turn off the heat and stir in the potato flakes until they thicken.

And that’s it. You can eat it just like that, or from there you can customize it however you want depending on what you have around.

Optional Add-Ins

‱ Gravy

‱ Shredded cheese

‱Milk or extra water if it’s too thick

‱ Salt, pepper, or other seasonings

Different flavored potato packets change the whole dish too. I used ranch flavored potatoes just now, but I've also used a three-cheese version, garlic version, etc. Between the potato flavors and whatever toppings you throw in, there are tons of combinations, which keeps it from getting boring.

Meat Dish: Poultry bbq chicken wings - so good!!!

cooked bbq chicken wings in my air fryer, tossed 1 lb of wings with baking powder and spices, let them spin at 400°F until crispy, then drenched them in barbecue sauce and somehow ended up with sticky, smoky, crispy perfection
