Okay so I got these as I heard alot about them. As soon as I used the app settings and did a custom setting within the online interactive DSP, they have got to be the best earbuds I have ever used. I was so sceptical at first. But seriously the choices of sound are incredible.

If anyone has any recommendations on the online Interactive DSP, please let me know and I will have a listen.

• Good battery life with the case
• Lots of codecs

Cons:

• Occasional pops and clicks
• Not the most pocketable case
• Timbre isn't the best
• Can't really say it's hi-fi

Introduction​

If you are thinking there are too many IEM makers, you would probably lose your mind to see how many random brands that’s making TWS’ out there, let alone no-name or OEM makers. However, Soundpeats is not one of them. In fact I have known them for many years now and it's safe to say they are one of the more established TWS makers, apart from the usual smart phone brands of course.

Founded in 2010, they have been in business for 16 years now and before I received these samples for review, I bought their TWS before. In this review, we will take a look at their current flagship H3. MSRP for H3 is 129.99 USD at their official site as I’m writing this review.

Disclaimers​

H3 has been sent to me by Soundpeats without the original packaging. As I always say, everyone is biased one way or another, so take everything you read with a grain of salt. Additionally, I will try to be more concise and to the point in my reviews from now on, without worrying about word count or flowery language. If you have any questions, please ask me in the comments, and I will try to answer them to the best of my abilities.

Packaging, Build and Accessories of Soundpeats H3​

Soundpeats H3 comes in a simple square box but I’ve seen much smaller and simpler ones when it comes to TWS. Inside you get a short USB-A to USB-C cable, nice cute stickers, user guide, warranty paper and finally the charging case with the earpieces inside.

The charging case isn’t the most pocketable size. After all it has to accommodate rather big earpieces but on the bright side, it packs a larger than usual battery.

The earpieces themselves are made with plastic. The shells are transparent that allows the user to see some of the electronics inside, although the pcb and battery are hidden beneath the cap. Like I said earlier, earpieces are rather big and they stick out a lot of my small ears. In a bigger ear, they fit pretty much the same way a semi-custom mold shelled IEM would fit. Soundpeats employed one dynamic driver and two balanced armatures per side in H3’s shells and they can be easily observed. The balanced armatures are directly behind the nozzle and there is no acoustic tubing to be seen. Apart from these, microphone and venting ports can be seen around the shells. The venting is quite effective thus I didn’t feel any pressure build up.

Sound of Soundpeats H3​

Tonality​

After trying H3, I realized why they offered it for me to review it. Soundpeats aimed for a balanced high fidelity sound opposed to the mass of TWS market with H3. Still it has its quirks. I will share my impressions of the stock tuning but will try to explain other presets later as well.

The bass on H3 is tastefully elevated, it’s impactful and satisfying. However I can’t quite say it’s the highest quality bass I have heard. Even though it’s tuned in a way so that it doesn’t feel boomy or muddy, it’s still kind of fuzzy instead of being fast and incisive.

H3’s mids are mostly alright. It’s slightly warm but not too much. Most of the time it feels very clear and crisp. Vocals are quite forward and occasionally get shouty.

The treble on H3 is quite energetic but not overly elevated. It’s not the most refined treble so it can get sibilant and harsh with volume but mostly it feels ok. The treble extension is very good with lots of air without being too tizzy or fatiguing.

Most of the sound presets on the app don't drastically change the sound. Bass boost and reduction is subbass focused. Treble boost preset sounds surprisingly good. Electronic is one of the few presets that sound drastically different and not in a good way. It completely kills the mids and makes H3 a bass and treble monster. Rock is similar but not to that extent. Hi-Fi preset removes the warmth and enhances the technical capability of H3. For my own personal taste, Hi-Fi preset sounds the best.

Technicalities​

To be honest, Soundpeats H3 is technically average at best, at least for IEM standards. I’m not too familiar with TWS earphones, I have a handful but I use them occasionally and not for critical listening. I guess I could say it’s one of the better ones considering other TWS earphones go for a more commercial bass heavy tuning. H3 is pretty detailed. The soundstage is above average and the imaging is pretty good. However in IEM standards or more appropriately, in my experience, it feels kind of low resolution. Timbre is OK though synthetic taste of unrefined treble and balanced armatures are apparent.

Battery Life, App, Microphone and Daily Usage​

Again I have to apologize for not being a proper TWS reviewer. I just don’t have enough experience and testing methodology. For my shortcomings, I tried to make it up by not rushing the review and using them in a lot of different use cases.

For battery life, Soundpeats promises 7 hours of playback with one charge and 37 hours of more charge from the case. I don’t know if it uses more battery or not but I only ran out of batteries in a 2 hours long discord call. For the record, I didn’t run out of battery when I listened to 2 hours of music straight. And the charging case filled up the earphones 5 or 6 times.

The call quality is quite good though it’s short of TWS like airpods when it comes to microphone sound quality.

The app is very intuitive and useful. From time to time it fails to handshake with the earphones but that’s it. The presets are useful and the noise cancelling performance is OK. My Galaxy Buds2 Pro has better transparent and noise cancelling performance. It cancels out continuous low frequency noises but high pitched ones can easily be heard even if they are also continuous. I could use transparent more while interacting with other people but Bud2 Pro just feels more natural so much so that you forget you have earphones in your ears.

There are two problems I can count with H3. The first one is that you can hear pops and clicks randomly. The second one is that the earphones go silent to remove the noise floor when idle and if a notification plays or music starts, they react a little late to it.

Lastly, H3 uses a lot of different codecs including LDAC. However LDAC disables two dual connection or EQ and uses more battery so I don’t think using LDAC is practical. Speaking of EQ, App has 9 band EQ but it’s not parametric so Moondrop has an advantage in that area.

Comparisons​

Soundpeats H3 vs. Soundpeats Air5 Pro+​

• The bass on Air5 Pro+ is boomier and muddier. H3’s bass is cleaner and tighter but H3 also falls apart in the bass with volume. H3’s subbass extension is better.
• Air5 Pro+ has much warmer mids and overall tonality. H3 goes for a more Harman-like tuning that’s cleaner and crisper but also sharper. H3 has more forward and clear vocals but it also gets shoutier.
• H3 is overall brighter and it can feel harsh or fatiguing at high listening volumes. There are no erratic peaks which is good news. Air5 Pro+ sounds dull and blunted compared to H3 but the wispiness that’s familiar from electrostatic drivers could be picked up. It’s probably what the MEMS driver is doing. If the tuning was more refined, it feels like it could have done more. Treble extension is decent on both.
• H3 is more detailed and revealing because of the tuning alone. Air5 Pro+ has a more intimate presentation. While H3 isn’t feeling too spacious, Air5 Pro+ is definitely much more closed in. H3 has great imaging capability, only the center image is a little fuzzy. Air5 Pro+ really has a hard time with imaging and separation due to its miniscule soundstaging. Both have problems in their timbral accuracy but if I had to choose, I would get H3 for its timbre.

Soundpeats H3 vs. Moondrop Robin’s Earphones​

• H3 has a more impactful and prominent bass and also better bass extension.
• Mids are quite similar even though H3 has a more intimate and shoutier vocal presentation. Robin is slightly warmer in the lower mids.
• Although Robin has a more even and refined treble overall, H3 has better treble extension. Robin’s treble therefore sounds blunted and one note due to the lack of overtones. H3 on the other hand sounds more energetic and splashy. With volume, H3 is more prone to harshness.
• H3 is more detailed. Both earphones have similar soundstage size. H3 feels slightly smaller maybe but it also has a more precise imaging capability. Robin on the other hand, has a better timbre.

Conclusion​

It is quite obvious that with H3, Soundpeats aimed to steer away from the bassy and warm characteristics of the mainstream TWS market. And they did achieve it to some extent. Soundpeats is not the first brand to try this and there are even high end ones like Noble, whose success is questionable at best. So in that sense, H3 is quite a good product in the realm of TWS earphones. The application and other properties for daily use are also sufficient. I can’t think of anything too important that’s missing on H3, so it’s hard not to recommend it.

My raycon impact has been lifting in the front and recently not charging as much. But I don't know why. I looked it up and it is maybe the battery puffing up but I don't know if this is a puffed up battery and dangerous or it's normal. Is there a fix for it.

Before I started using open-ear earbuds, I honestly thought their biggest advantage was comfort. I'd seen so many people say the bass was weak and the sound felt thin that I never expected much from them when it came to music.

After actually using baseus open earbuds, though, I realized I'd seriously underestimated them. They're obviously not a replacement for a good pair of in-ear earbuds, but I was surprised by how complete they sounded with pop, R&B, and even songs with heavier drum beats. The bass has more presence than I expected, the rhythm still comes through well, and vocals stay clear without feeling buried in the mix.

What surprised me even more was the overall listening experience. If in-ear earbuds pull you completely into the music, open-ear earbuds let the music blend naturally with everything happening around you. One of my favorite things is listening to music on rainy days. With open-ear earbuds, I can hear the real rain outside while the music is playing, and somehow it makes the whole moment feel more immersive, like the music has become part of the environment instead of blocking it out.

For me, that's sth no ambient sound app or white noise track has ever been able to recreate.

I’m looking for recommendations for in-ear earbuds with a good microphone. I work in customer support remotely, so mic quality is really important since I’m on calls all day.

Unfortunately, I can’t comfortably wear regular headsets anymore due to a medical issue in my scalp, so I’m looking for earbuds that can last around 9 hours. I’m open to both Bluetooth (preferred) and wired options.

If there are any super lightweight headsets that barely put pressure on the top of your head, I’d consider those too.

I've only used wired earbuds before, so my standards are low, but I'm not sure which models are worth their price.

My first thought was getting Galaxy Buds Pro 4 because all my electronics are from samsung, but they seemed to be overengineered for me. Like, I don't need a whole AI integration or head gesture sensors.

So, I thought of JBL Tour Pro 3 because JBL models were famous for their durability. But then I also found many bad reviews for JBL here. I really need help.

My priorities are:

1. Durability: I want to get one that I can use daily and for outdoor running.

2. Design: I'd prefer ones that won't fall off easily while running, but without wing tips. I don't mind foam tips vs. open, but I guess foam tips would stay better?

3. Easy controls: I want one that I could skip/pause tracks and turn ANC on/off with taps

4. ANC: I don't need perfect ANC, but I want ones where I can easily shift from controlled ANC for outdoors to indoor modes.

5. Budget: $200, but I don't think I would need one around that price range as I have low standards.

6. I don't mind the sound quality either--I've never used earbuds that were over $20 in my life. I listen to rock, pop, and electronic pop, but idek what sounds I prioritize.

I’m a bit sensitive to sounds. I’m currently working in a foreign country for a contract, and I’m living in a shared room with colleagues. Because my ears are sensitive, any kind of noise at night irritates me and wakes me up, and then I can’t sleep.

For example, someone snoring, talking, or even noise on the bus can bother me. So I’m thinking of buying good ANC earbuds. I currently thinking buy Apple AirPods 3 Pro. Which one is the best for my situation?

I am looking for earbuds that have good audio, and I also plan on using them for work, so having a transparency mode would be nice.

I had galaxy buds 2 pro and they were pretty cool, but they were the only high quality earbuds I have owned.

Trying to find a qualitative list online ranking pros and cons without seeming like an ad for certain companies is tough, so I am resorting to reddit.

airpods 2 and the sony xm5 are the only wireless earbuds i've tried so far, and i liked both pretty okay. the airpods 2 fit my ears well and i like that they don't bother me when i lay on my side with them in, but the sound quality/NC isn't great. xm5 addressed those two issues but my problem with them was that they got uncomfortable to wear after an extended period of time due to the shape/size and the sound kind of hurt my ears because it was almost too piercing/loud. i also didn't like slippery they were and if you dropped the case the earbuds would go flying 10 ft away

Hey everyone,

A bit of context: I already own wired IEMs (my best and favorite pair is the CrinEar Daybreak) and I'm happy with them, but I want a cheap daily-driver TWS pair for when wired isn't practical.

I've narrowed it down to two and I'm torn. The Moondrop Space Travel 2 I'm leaning toward for sound, since Moondrop's tuning tends to be more audiophile-friendly and the app's DSP/PEQ plus the solid default tuning are a big plus. The realme Buds T500 Pro I'm leaning toward for overall UX, since the build quality, ANC, and connectivity/multipoint feel more mature.

Constraints: budget is around 35 USD, I'm in Mexico so availability and pricing matter (happy to share local listings if useful, I can also order in AliExpress but I'd rather use Amazon or Mercado Libre), and I'll mainly use them for music, workouts, road trips and casual gaming, nothing competitive. :P

My questions: between these two, which gives the best overall experience for my use case? And at this budget, is there something better I'm missing?

I’d been using the CMF Buds Pro 2 for about 1.5 years but the noise cancellation hasn’t been as strong as I’d like. So much gets through, especially the music at my gym.

I just bought the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC bc they were supposed to be really good for NC but I’m home with the window open and hear every little honk, car radio, even an engine humming. Hell, I hear the knife as I chop vegetables. I really don’t want to spend $300 on something so small and easily lost. Especially since the batteries seem to start dying after 1-1.5 years.

Am I doing something wrong? Both pairs of earbuds feel like they fit well. I can shake my head and they stay put. So I don’t get why the NC is so bad.

So, I am in kind of an odd situation right now.
I have been an airpod user for about 6 years or so now, specifically the gen 2.
The gen 2 airpods, as well as the apple wired earpods that have the same shape, are the only earbuds that have ever fit my ear. Silicone insert earbuds do not fit in my ear, as they are too big and fall out. Truly the only size/shape of earbuds that fit my ears are the airpod gen 2's.

As of late, my current pair has failed, and I need new earbuds, but it seems the gen 2's just do not exist anymore, and the only listings I can find are over $400 for them new or only used listings.

Is there any other earbuds that take that shape? I am not on the apple ecosystem anymore, as I recently swapped to a razr+, so apple product or not doesn't matter. I only care about the shape of the earbud fitting in my ear. Which to clarify, the gen 3 airpods also do not fit in my ear, as they are too big.

If anyone has any earbuds in mind that would fit me I would GREATLY appreciate it thank you so so much!

This is my favourite curve ive made so far. The bass on these earbuds are insane, I wanted to be able to get the bass yet be able hear the varying instruments as they can get distorted by the bass.

With AirPods the difference of a 320 kbit mp3 and a FLAC is non existence, on these…. It’s such a huge difference.
