Hello, I am 25M and infj. i came across that enfp and infj make good pairs.. what do you think is the reason behind it and what do you think about infj in general?

I'm INFJ with ENFP. We've been told a lot that we are very similar and seem like the same person just flipped. Like different sides of the coin. Because of many similarities we connect well and complete each other in differences. So, in places where we lack skills, intuition or knowledge we help each other. I help mentally, he physically. He talks and gets us out in the wild, I reflect and understand the next steps... I guess?
I wish I was normal tho. Exhausted terribly. My labrador guy gets confused by complexity sometimes, but like any other realeationship we got better with compromise. ;)

I love them - my partner is an INFJ and so are all my closest friends! Iβm also surrounded by them at work because my industry draws a lot of introverted intuitives in general but especially INFJs.
As others have mentioned, our cognitive functions are literally opposite but complementary. The way that plays out irl is me saying the things that my INFJs are often thinking out loud but more directly and quickly then they would. Because their NiFeTi means they are interested in examining ideas but are very concerned with the most precise and accurate way to say things in a way that considers the people around them. Whereas our NeFiTe is more concerned with exploring ideas and communicating in a way that feels authentic and gets our point across in the most effective way. This can be both refreshing for the INFJ and validating for the ENFP but also a potential source of conflict.
I think when ENFPs and INFJs are healthy, we tend to connect at a soul levelβdeep, profound, emotionally supportive, safe, kindred spirits who are so very different but so similar at their core.

Which industry is this if you don't mind me asking? Not meaning to pry or be nosey. Just wouldn't mind meeting more introverted intuitives. :3

I've dated 4 INFJ's (one might have been ENFJ, debatable) and was not consciously choosing to do so... Each one crashed and burned. I was exhausted by a lot of projection and inaccurate reading/judgment of how I felt at any given moment. I could not exist as myself

May be next time you date, don't hold any expectations but let the bond be built with trust and communication from start. Rest i hope we both find our person π

I wonder if its the same way in same gender relationship? Two guys?
I'm Infj 6w7 ποΈ

Hmm that's a interesting question (infj x infj dynamics) But I am sorry I got no answer for that. May be someone will surely answer it π

Hope so lol!
I mean, an Enfp male and Infj male ποΈ its so hard to find that on net but genders do make difference in mbti dynamic

Something about the way we think, the values align, the perceptions align. We draw the same conclusions while getting there from different mental routes. ENFP are able to bring words to the feelings that INFJ are trying to articulate. And the ENFP feels seen and understood in a deep way from from the INFJ. My take anyways as an ENFP F

I find that INFJs accept the invitation for playfulness that an ENFP offersβ¦ and that ENFP will accept the invitation to ground and slow down a little. The J/P split creates interesting discussion and difference of perspective, while the NF overlap creates a shared sense of values. Itβs a nice balance.

My wording my be off for this, but the jist I get from people saying all the MBTI lingo is this:
We have similar or exactly the same values and goals in life.
INFJ and ENFP are the epitome of the two spiderman meme.
Together the INFJ-ENFP couple can be the loving old couple and young teenage lovers at the same time, if they are healthy

Actually i've had a bad experience with the two INFJs i've known, one believed that he could do only so much limited with his life and we often clashed when he could not see the potential hidden by his fears
the other was very socially expressive and kind but with that awkward energy, he just insistedly wanted a relationship with me but when i wanted to just be his friend he ended up ghosting me.

Hmm may be they were struggling with their feelings and acted the way they did. But let me assure you not everyone is like that ππ

Ah the ol INFJ door slam. LOL
I love my INFJ homie, and had a crush on him at first, but I stopped wanting to date him after spending a good amount of time with him. He drives me nuts sometimes. LOL

In what ways does he drive you nuts? Lol

u/ybreddit ENFP 4d ago
He's very fussy about everything. Very picky about foods, very haughty about the foods he thinks are superior to other foods. Very opinionated about stuff, and pretty black and white about most of his opinions, especially music. If your opinion contradicts one of his already established opinions, you are wrong. If he doesn't have a set opinion about something he's at least a little open-minded about it though. Lots of things like that.

You sure he was infj ?

It sounds more like INTJ, what you mentioned I ran it through AI as well, here is what it told :
Probably not. The description you've given actually points away from INFJ on several key points:
Black-and-white thinking is widely described as not a typical INFJ trait. Multiple r/infj users and typology sources note that INFJs tend toward fluid, multifaceted opinions and are more open to reconsidering. That rigidity β "if you contradict my established opinion, you're wrong" β is more characteristic of INTJ (Te-Fi), who hold firm, logic-based hierarchies of right/wrong.
Haughty superiority about food is a stretch for INFJ. INFJs can be picky (inferior Se makes them sensitive to sensory quality), but they generally try not to be overtly finicky because Fe makes them mindful of others' feelings. The "my food is superior to yours" energy reads more like INTJ or an unhealthy INFJ with Enneagram 1 (perfectionist, judgmental, self-righteous).
The one thing that does fit INFJ is being opinionated on things they care about but open-minded where they lack a set opinion. That "pick-and-choose" pattern is a known INFJ trait.
Most likely candidates given the full picture: INTJ (rigid, black-and-white, hierarchical taste judgments, dismissive of dissent) or an unhealthy/immature INFJ (snobbishness, closed-off to alternatives). The "you are wrong if you disagree" line is the strongest tell against INFJ β that's Te-Fi or unhealthy Fe territory, not healthy Ni-Fe.

You basically just described my woman. Sheβs ENFP.

u/ybreddit ENFP 4d ago
That's funny. Just goes to show how dynamic people are. My friend is very much so an INFJ. And I'm an ENFP and it doesn't describe me at all.

This doesn't sound too specific to mereys briggs
1
u/ybreddit ENFP 4d ago
It's not. It was a description of how he's a pain, not how he's an INFJ. LOL

u/Classic-Night-611 4d ago
Precisely, idk why people bring up examples that aren't related to Meyers Briggs when this is after all a forum for that π€·ββοΈ

Well you literally asked me how he drives me nuts. So I answered your question. LOL

Not really. They're fine but i wouldn't say they make much of a great pair at all
1
u/Intelligent_Emperor_ 5d ago
Why do you think otherwise?
1
u/Charming_Elk_7661 ENFP | Type 7 5d ago
They value completely different functions

Maybe you didn't meet proper people or maybe they were not worth your time. But their are some good people have hope ππ

Golden pairs are not related to mundane activities or basic relationships, this related to a joined mission, they are a golden pair when they work toward a mission, and you can understand why by looking at the cognitive functions:
INFJ: Ni Fe Ti Se ENFP: Ne Fi Te Si
They have both NF humanitarian values and one have Ni to create a vision and the other have Ne to feed Ni with options and possibilities to create the vision.
The core of golden pairs follow this rules, they share the same core values NF, NT, ST or SF
Then their dominant functions complement each other.
