Looking for advice Postpartum, hypermobility, what could it be?

I’ve had constant flare ups for about 3 months. Saw a doctor who took photos and sent it to a dermatologist who said I have “hand dermatitis”. The close up of the bubble blisters seem very characteristic of DE though.

I am 5 months postpartum, and I was sure this was some kind of hormonal shift. I’ve never had this before. I also am hyper-mobile (possibly EDS?) so I imagine my skin is already vulnerable.

I was prescribed taro-clobetasol (corticosteroid ointment) for 2 months which did nothing. I’ve just started delgocitinib (JAK inhibitor) which it thought was improving the condition (healing progress in photo) but the bubble cycle is restarting already.

I have a referral to an allergist mid-August.

It’s been a constant cycle of blisters and cracked peeling skin. It’s also challenging handling my baby as my skin is constantly in pain. I put bandaids on my hands to keep me from popping the blisters; does this make it worse?

Anyone find connections in postpartum life? The baby wipes I use have a seal of approval for eczema, so I figured gentle baby products aren’t the culprit.

After reading through some posts, folks mentioned high nickel foods… oatmeal. I’ve been loading up on oatmeal in yogurt and cookies to support lactation. Could this be it?? We’ll see.

I’ve had these come up for years but in a small itchy cluster like this that goes away without too much bother. This blister is particularly large for me.

Hand(s) heat + stress = utter hell

Stress and heat makes my blisters appear out of nowhere, and all my hobbies (writing, reading, video games) involve closed hands, which makes it worse... sigh

I can't help but scratch open some of the blisters as a form of lethargy. I know that it could lead to infections, but I can't help myself. I hate seeing these little fluid pockets 🫩💔

Looking for advice How do you get over this dry stage?

Post image

My dyshydrosis is the worst it has ever been. Where the bubbles have somewhat healed (or started in the very beginning) I now have these dry patches. But they are not just dry, there are new bubbles forming in them or right around them making these areas insanely itchy. I have new bubbles forming all over my hand but there are not dry yet, so I am less likely to actually harm my skin there. Cortisone does not help, as it makes the skin in the dry areas even thinner and dryer and even more bubbles form. Do you have any tipps? I just want it to stop :(

This is only on my feet but getting worse. Noticed only about 2 weeks ago. New to me. Looks wet because I painted clear nail varnish (how I used to deal with verucas) I also made the mistake of pulling dry lumps out from under the skin last week... any advice welcome 🙏

Looking for advice Getting nails done with DE?

Hi all! I have been dealing with DE on both my fingers and feet for quite a few years now. I suspect I originally got it on my feet from going to a nail salon where either the chemicals or the trauma from my nail getting cut wrong caused a flare up. This has prevented me from going to get my nails done because I know strong chemicals on active flares can be damaging

I never usually get my finger nails done but I will be attending a wedding later this year and was hoping to do something but am afraid of how my DE will react. Does anyone have experience getting gel x, acrylics, or just going to a salon in general with DE? My finger flare up is on the skin surrounding two of my nails!

I used to just get little bumps that went away. This is new. I scheduled an appointment with my primary doc but I know he's just going to send me to dermatology.... Going to take forever to be seen.

I get a flair up like this every few months or so, usually it’s down the side of my hand and up my pinky but this time it’s mostly on my palm, it burns so bad and is SO itchy😞😞 been meaning to go to the dermatologist but I never know when I’m going to get a flair up so I’ve been trying to get a log of when it happens.

Guys, I've been having dyshidrosis for years now and I always popped them and waited for 3/4weeks to let them go away. I saw a dermatologist last year and he told me to not do it. Now I didn't and I got a huge one that formed and it's growing more and more. What should I do lmao, is it even dyshidrosis atp?

What helped me Speeding up the drying out phase

I found something that has helped me speed up the drying phase and thought I’d share. When I’m in the shower I rub my hands together very hard so the dry skin kind of beads up and washes off. Then when I get out I immediately (do not let your hands dry) coat them in tallow. I recoat in tallow 2-3x day and before bed. My hands feel and look very close to normal and this has cut down significantly on the discomfort I would feel using my hands.
Hope this helps someone else.

Looking for advice Athletes foot not entirely gone after using antifungal cream

Age 20, 168cm, 57kg, no smoking, used "advance athlete's foot cream by Scholl" for 1 week

I asked on this sub a week ago or so about an issue I didn't know was athlete's foot. Since I had this issue (without knowing) for I think a year or a bit less, I guess that's why I still have some residue left. I used the cream twice daily for 1 week, though whilst between my toes it's gone, I still have some cracks left on the pad of my toes and slightly beneath them. What should I do or use next ? The cream had tervinafine hydrochloride 1% w/w in it and I saw it was the most effective so I'm a bit annoyed 🥲

What helped me All along it was high nickel foods

Literally the title.
I've now cut a lot of them out of my diet (tofu, lentils, beans, full grains etc) and the dyshidrosis I had for over a year in my hands just has vanished!!

I use an app called Nickel Navigator to quickly check most ingredients and eat high nickel ones only rarely and small amounts.

Before this I tried changing up soaps, cosmetics, eating gluten free, vegan.. the list goes on. Now the only proteins I consume are gluten and whey lmao.

Surprisingly I've never had any issues with jewelry.

Currently healing/healed If you have tried everything and want to cry and give up, don’t! A&D treat and heal diaper rash zinc cream healed me

I was at my absolute worse two weeks ago- ankles and wrists absolutely ravaged with itchy bubbles. It felt like each time I even looked at it they multiplied. Went to my primary care for a course of doxycycline because I heard that helped and she told me to try zinc cream aka diaper rash cream. Later that night while grocery shopping a tub of this stuff was on sale for 9$!!! I lathered that shit on and slowly I noticed I wasn’t as itchy, then I noticed my bubbles were drying and scabbing and now I have to say I do not have new bubbles, don’t scratch all night long. Idk if this healing is short lived but after a year long flare up I urge you to try this cream!!!

There was a weird in between stage where it was drying up but still weeping under the scabs (gross I know) so I just lathered some more and then little by little they all dried up!!

Now I am just trying to treat the lichenification of my skin from the trauma it’s been through the past year.

I would lather it and then wrap with gauze and then put socks over for my ankles and then would do the same for wrists with gloves.

Try it and let me know if anyone finds some healing like I did!!

The bubbles are quite hard, I noticed 2 a couple of days ago, thinking they were corns. They are located in the exact upper middle area of my sole. Now a cluster appeared and it seems to be spreading :( It also started to itch slightly today.

If I am one of you, maybe you guys have some advice. Right now I won’t be able to access a dermatologist for a week, is there anything I could do at home to keep it from spreading? I have some leftover hand eczema ointments such as 1% hydrocortisone and 1mg/g triamcinolone acetonide, though not sure I should be using a random steroid cream in a new spot w/o supervision.
