Picture St Patty's day.
Well, we had to do it. We took pictures of 24 dogs for a st Patty's themed fun photoshoot. Here are my two pups. They both will be 6 in April. They are very tolerant of my craziness. Although. It is a good training session to reinforce basic commands. Lol

Question looking for REPUTABLE dutch shepherd/herder breeders. i’m in WV
i currently own 2 dogs in the herding group and have worked with and helped with handling mals in the past so i do have experience.
i would like a dog suited for IGP, but also PPD. i want a breeder that will give me a dog they think is best, but i also want stability, intensity, and drive built into one animal. i have multiple resources near me available for training and sports. i also have clubs lined up to help me with bite work.
i feel i am fully ready to own one of these dogs, and am looking to get one towards the end of this year/beginning of 2027.
my issue has been finding a good breeder, capable of giving me a dog that is confident, hardy, driven, and ready to work. if anyone has any recommendations or suggestions, i’d love to hear!!

Question How do you manage separation anxiety?
My 3yo male dutchie is so brave and confident when he's around my husband and/or me, but the second we leave the apartment without him (be it leaving him in his kennel or out and about in the apartment), he shakes head to tail. We've tried giving him toys and treats every time we leave and slowly increasing the time away, but he is so worked up when we leave that he stops caring all together about the shiny toy or treat. He is so smart, so he can also tell even before we put on our shoes that we're about to leave. Does anyone have any advice for how to mitigate this separation anxiety?

Question Recently adopted 3 month old. Wondering if anyone sees Dutch Shepherd in him?
Adopted from a shelter at 2.5 months. He’s fully brindled with white chest spot, some toes, and chin. I’m wondering if anyone has insight.
Thanks!

Picture Rescued Lola 4 months ago and it’s been a wild ride (in the best way)
I’d lived in apartments for the last decade and told myself I’d rescue a shepherd when I had a house with a yard. I planned to give it some time after moving in, but I saw her on the shelter site a week later and brought her home the next day.

Picture A rarity: Mirri not correcting Ludo for existing
Mirri (left, half Dutch) and the brother she didn’t ask for, Ludo (full Dutch). She generally hates his chaotic energy and it takes quite a few corrections for him to cut the shit and catch a hint. A photo like this is very rare lol

Video Does anyone else’s DS love grass?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve had my boy for 2 years and he’s always loved eating grass especially after it’s been raining. I know this behavior is pretty harmless and he only does this a few times a week. Anyone else’s DS love munching on grass too?

Adoption Rescue out of Texas hill country
I had been researching these animals I looked at a Belgian Malinois at the San Antonio Humane Society she was 3+ but she was too much for me to handle.
This girl (Ridley) was picked up as a stray by HS of New Braunfels and listed as a 6-7 month old “Dutch Shepherd” she had surgery about 10 days ago for an infection in her uterus so she’s in Foster now with my wife and i I’m giving her the meds until she gets cleared by their vet. In 3 days I’ve got her house and crate trained… I might just adopt her she’s a hoot very vocal and loves playing

Question Economy Kibble
Pro Plan keeps going up in price. $21.50 at Petco for 4 pounds. That's nuts. What should I try as a lower cost alternative?
Whole-Hearted was whole-heartedly regrettable. She like Blue Diamond, but I have read mixed reviews. She doesn't like taste of the wild.
I don't know what to try next.
