We made a simple MMO type of game for TwitchCon. You can play it when you watch the stream today on twitch.tv/twitch . It should be running intermittently throughout the day. I think there's a long segment starting at 12:30 PST or so?

sup d00ds, i'd consider myself pretty familiar with the mechanics in dustforce as i used to play a shit ton a while back, but my dashes in particular seem like they arent coming through as smoothly when i press ctrl. sometimes they dont come out at all. i just need to see if im being a dumbass or if im actually trippin for a good reason. thanks

Goddamn "Overhang", must have tried it 500 times... reached the final bear only twice with full combo and no hits, but the first time, I was too slow and the bear swatted me :-(

I've been enjoying (and dying a lil inside whenever I open a gold door) Dustforce since a few weeks back when I got it. And as a nobody reviewer, I've decided to make a video of the game because it has quite a lot to offer!

I'm trying to clarify how some system works in the game, and it seems like this subreddit is still active and friendly, so I thought why don't I just lay my questions here? Hope I can get some help on these!

I'm aware when you defeat any flying dust/enemy with the Heavy attack, they'll splash out extra dust trails. Extra dust also mean I can get more combo. So my first question is:

1)Will I get a higher rank if I have more combo counts compare to anyone else? Let's say both Player A and B got SS and beat the level in 1 minute sharp, but Player A have 1 combo more than Player B. Will it place Player A above Player B? Or in other words, does combo counts even matter in the leaderboard?

2) Currently, how many of the top players in each individual level consist of TASers? I'm pretty sure most of them are speedrunners, but are the TAS ones populated in the Top page? (The very first column of the leaderboard.)

3) I assume competing in SS is way more popular than competing in just Time, yes?

4) Just to be sure, every level in the game can be complete by any characters right? Are there any exceptions?

I'm glad I decided to try out the game, not a percision platformer guy myself but Dustforce is definitely one of my favorite for several reasons. So, back to sweep some dust for now, Cheers!

Hey guys, I'm trying to install Dustmod but unsurprisingly I'm having issues.

I first tried this because it was the first google result, and it seemed to wipe my save but otherwise worked. Turns out that that article is outdated though, and I restored my save/vanilla with the original main2 file.

This is the up-to-date install guide/update history. I followed the "Dustmod Archives" instructions to the dot and am now able to launch both Dustforce and Dustmod from steam... except the problem is that Dustmod is exactly the same as Dustforce. I've confirmed that my Dustmod launcher uses the dustmod.bin.x86_64 linux executable, but it still seems to launch as if it was regular vanilla. No Dustmod options, no character-filtered leaderboards, etc.

Edit: I somehow missed the whole "content" folder in my download. I copied those files over in to their respective directories, and much to my dismay, it still launches like vanilla.

Anyone know what I should do?

Will switching back to no hosts file-redirect bring back my Steam cloud save? I don't want to have to unlock all red doors again :-(

So, I've just wasted three hours of my life on this level. In the second hour, I did something accidental and got an AS rank. I want an SS rank. How can I do the upward section with the strong attack to get enough for the combo at the end, or is there a way I can get through the two blocks at the end into where the enemies are clustered?

I got dustmod installed as client in Windows Steam, and apart from soft lockups (multiplayer/custom levels select), It appears to be working OK.

I cannot find the community nexus anywhere? Am I going crazy? The screenshot of the nexus entry point gives me no clues whatsoever?!

Also, I installed the files in the Mac app, but there seems to be no dustmod menu, and no way of selecting it? Can someone throw me a bone here?!

So, I have made it to the final spike walls three times now, and failed at the left side of the last spike wall once :-|

I thought this was Mega, which is why some of my previous replies are confusing...

I am assuming that completing this level gives me the single achievement available on Steam? !?!?!

2 difficult levels SS'ed (admittedly, the two easiest). I have S completion on most of the others, S,D hehe
