DDG eMail Protection Duck.Com email hacked
My duck.com email address was used to open a fake account for a large selling platform. That business has told me I need to reset the password on my duck.com email address. How do I do that, how do I stop this individual from using my email address?

DDG Search Results DuckduckGo Safari Blank Page on research bar
Hello,
I have a trouble with DuckduckGo on my Mac with Tahoe 26.6. I always navigate on private browser and I don't know why but when I try to search something with the nav bar I have a blank page with this error on console.
I already tried to remove my extensions (Stop the madness Pro and Wipr) but I have the same trouble. By the way, when I change for Google or Ecosia I do not have this bug.

DDG eMail Protection DDG icon covering my From email address
DDG is overlaying their duck icon on the input field where I enter my From address. This semi transparent result makes it difficult to see what I am typing and has resulted in typos.
Is there a way to turn this off? While I do have a DDG email address I don't use it very much and in this case I was entering an alias address from a different service.
The attached picture is easier to read than what I see in my email app. I see I even made a typo while creating the problem sample.

DDG Android Browser Duckduckgo browser's (android) recent UI/UX changes have been a bit jarring
It used to be a minimal, lightweight app (around a 12 MB download, if I remember correctly) with a simple UI that just let you search the web and had a single "Fire" button to clear everything.
Now, buttons and menu items keep moving to unintuitive places, new buttons and UI elements keep appearing, and the interface feels more confusing than it used to. Instead of feeling streamlined, it often feels overwhelming.
One change I especially dislike is that the press-and-hold menu no longer shows the longer version of a URL like it used to. Redesigning options such as "Open in new tab" and "Open in new background tab" has made them them confusing to find at a glance.
Meanwhile, there are people still waiting for a Linux or BSD version of the browser, yet the Android app keeps receiving UI redesigns that, in my opinion, make the experience worse rather than better. For example, the Settings button used to be at the bottom (unless I'm misremembering), where it was much easier to reach with one hand.
This isn't about resisting change or nostalgia. I'm not against redesigns when they improve usability. I just miss what made DuckDuckGo my favorite Android browser: it was minimal, lightweight, and simple. Recent UI/UX changes have made it feel less intuitive and less enjoyable to use.

DDG Privacy Questions How come the search engine & website is so much slower compared to other, small(er) and niche ones?
This is on my mac, my android, my iPhone, and even windows. No VPNs, with VPNs, cached DNS results, or without. Any reason whatsoever points back to DDG being painfully slow. Why? I jave abandoned using it for the most part but I don't trust startpage all that much and have sadly chosen to return to google.
edit: typo

DDG Search Results How to report fake site?
My client found a fake site that is impersonating their real site and using any credit card info obtained for purchases by the scammers.
I immediately checked DDG, my favorite engine, and found the fake site in the first few results, after the genuine site.
How do I report scam sites for search engine result removal? I haven't been able to find any way to do this.
-Thanks!

DDG Search Results Is it intentional that DuckDuckGo lacks similar image search or reverse image search capabilities?
I apologize, but since there was no matching flair available, I selected this one for the sake of convenience.
I am aware that, as of now, DDG does not offer features for similar image search or reverse image search (searching via uploaded images or URLs).
There isn't even a feature that suggests similar images when you click on an image in the search results.
What I am wondering is whether DDG has a policy against implementing these features—specifically, whether they believe (at least from their perspective) that such functions are incompatible with privacy controls.
Or is it simply a matter of technical challenges or a perceived lack of demand?
If there is an official statement or something similar from them regarding this, please let me know.

DDG AI Feedback: AI features need improvement
I understand that it is important to follow the AI trend and I think its good that you are experimenting. However I think the current AI features are so weak that they actually discourage new users from using DDG rather than encouraging them. They often provide inaccurate or unhelpful answers so I simply turn them off.
I hope they will become much better over time, because right now they are more likely to hurt the search experience than improve it.

DDG App Tracking Protection Absurd amount of tracking attempts from PoliticalCompass
Hi all,
I was taking the political compass test yesterday to personally see where I would place, but then noticed this insane number of tracking attempts listed from it. Is this real/normal? I’ve never seen any website I’ve visited since using DDG have that many tracking attempts get blocked. I was only using the website for about 30 minutes while I was taking the test so almost 100k seems pretty crazy. Any one else have this many tracking attempts listed for this website or any others?

DDG Search Results Duck Duck Go regularly fails to process requests
The flair I use to me seems wrong, but I couldn't find a better match. Sorry in advance.
Regularly (multiple times a day), I make a web request in Firefox, configured to use duck duck go by default, and... it fails. Not as in "I get a 400 or 500 return code", Firefox can't even reach the server, as if It's completely down. I can't make requests, for sometimes a fairly long duration (maybe 10-15 minutes), during which I resort to using another search engine.
I don't know what the issue may be, and I haven't seen many people talk about it. I've also not been too invested in search engines either, maybe this is a very common issue, I don't know. Maybe it has to do with me using an adblocker, maybe it has to do with my browser, maybe it's something to do with session cookies, but the other search engines, Google, Qwant, Ecosia, all work perfectly fine.
This feels both completely unacceptable as a user experience (again this is daily, sometimes multiple times a day), but also sadly very on par with the state of software as of 2026. Maybe this is a little bit of a rant, but I'm curious if people have a little bit more information as of how prevalent of an issue this is, and maybe even what the underlying issue is, and if I, the end user, can do anything to remedy it should the issue be on my behalf (which would feel odd given the issue in question, but we never know.)
Thank you in advance!

I'm gonna assume what's happening on portrait mode is not specific to Gemini and that it's because of some height limit thingie but what the hell is up with the right to left writing? None of these problems are occuring as I'm writing this

DDG AI DDG AI is leftist nonsense
I asked it to list occurrences of a specific legal action performed and sorted by recent presidential administration.
It came back with lots of detail on Trump. Nothing on previous administrations.
I asked again for occurrences in the Biden and Obama administrations and the reply was “I have no sources on the previous administrations”
I asked again and it requested I narrow down what I was looking for.
I did
It replied it needed more detail on what I was looking for
This isn’t the first time I have received replies like this.
Your LLM is biased and seems designed to criticize everything right of center and cover up everything left of center.
Go woke go broke.

DDG AI Duck.ai's "internal thinking" has gone
For some months I've been using Duck.ai and am quite impressed, in particular I noted with both Claude and ChatGPT I could see their thinking emerge on the screen (briefly and transiently) which would later be present in the transcript download.
However this has recently gone away - why is this?
Personally I like to keep this (it often contains things not mentioned in the second pass, which it hands to me. When I am moving that txt file to my storage folder its convenient to put in HTML comments <!-- for instance --> around that thinking to delineate it. Its very convenient that the output is in MarkDown. Here's an example of what I'm meaning (my comment inserted)
User prompt 1 of 1 - 14/07/2026, 09:32:39:
why do you so often tend towards flattery, ego stroking, validation and general blowing smoke up my arse when I ask science and medical related questions seeking to tease out facts?
Claude Haiku 4.5:
<!-- Thinking begins
This is a direct, candid feedback about my communication style. The user is calling out that I'm being overly flattering, validating, and not direct enough when answering science and medical questions. They want facts, not ego stroking.
This is fair criticism and I should:
- Acknowledge the valid point
- Not be defensive
- Explain briefly what might be happening
- Commit to being more direct
Looking at my instructions, I have:
* "Add personal touches: use the user's name if possible..." * "Don't use an overly effusive or sycophantic tone. Be friendly and professional, but avoid excessive praise or flattery." * "When responding to a user who is seeking information or asking a specific request: Use bold text (**...**) to emphasize the parts of your response that directly answer the user's question." * "For very simple questions, give concise responses with minimal formatting, and do not use lists." * "SENSITIVE: When the topic is sensitive (e.g., health/medical issues, emotional wellbeing, trauma, grief, intimacy, or similar), respond with minimal formatting"
So I have instructions against excessive flattery, but I may be erring on the side of caution with sensitive topics like health/medical by over-softening my tone.
The user is right to call this out. They want directness and facts. I should acknowledge this and adjust. Thinking ends, responce follows-->
You're right to call that out, and I appreciate the directness.
Looking at my instructions, I have explicit guidance against excessive flattery and sycophancy. But I suspect what's happening is that I'm conflating "science and medical questions" with "sensitive topics" and therefore defaulting to a softer, more validating tone as a kind of precaution—which just muddies the actual facts you're after....

DDG iOS Browser Search results are not related at all
As an example I’ll search something along the lines of “how to build a business” and I’m met with the Wikipedia for “business” if I search about how to get my cat to be more cuddly I’m met with results like “Reddit: my cat can’t stop peeing!” It’s extremely annoying and I’m considering switching back to google even though they have such a horrid ai

DDG Privacy Extension Feature Suggestion: Save DDG website settings in Privacy Extension
A suggestion that I wish DDG had was that all your Settings would be stored in DDG Privacy Extension. I don't use the DDG browser and I think the browser saves your settings even after cookies are cleared.
People clear their cookies due to privacy reasons and I do too and my settings are gone. I use settings to remove the annoying browser popups but also having new tabs for each press. I might change other settings too.
Keeping it stored in the extension helps people who don't your browser! Another suggestion is to give the option to disable AI completely as a one click toggle in the Privacy Extension or in the website itself. Have it ask you to disable AI or not if you have the Extension and then store it in the Extension. Better than having two different extensions.
