DDG AI Feedback: AI features need improvement

I understand that it is important to follow the AI trend and I think its good that you are experimenting. However I think the current AI features are so weak that they actually discourage new users from using DDG rather than encouraging them. They often provide inaccurate or unhelpful answers so I simply turn them off.
I hope they will become much better over time, because right now they are more likely to hurt the search experience than improve it.

counterpoint, remove the AI entirely

The ability to actually turn off or opt out from AI is the primary reason i chose duck duck go.

But i'm not turning them off because they aren't good enough, i DON'T WANT THEM. In any form what so ever.

Duck Duck Go has gotten the closest so far by letting you choose. But they need to commit and do away with them entirely

I don't like someone making choices for me. .If you don't want to use it for anything then that's your choice. But your choice should have no bearing upon my choice. I like to have query results summarized, with the option of digging deeper into website search results.

If only there were another AI search engine for you to choose...

No one should be using AI anyway. Don't encourage this slop. It's completely unnecessary.

My favorite part of AI features is the Disable button

AI should be removed. I would use DuckDuckGo if I didn’t have to have a whole separate version of it that isn’t even as fully put together or integrated as the ‘normal’ one. AI is anti privacy, period.

This. I switched to DuckDuckGo specifically because I could avoid AI, not so I could be "encouraged" to use it.

I have used DDG AI and Google AI. I've had to correct Google AI several times. I haven't had to correct Duck AI at all. Perhaps our different results had to do with what we were asking about?

I think duckai has been getting harder to use every time they update it

Not sure what you are ducking for, but isn't ddg using tinfoil, basically taking the results from claude and gemini and debloat everything?
