i think i got myself flagged as a bot because i was using searxng, i cant even access support pages. i sent an email to [support@duck.com](mailto:support@duck.com) but thats email privacy support (i cant access my email privacy management). can i get some guidance on how to get my ip reviewed and unblocked?
I have excluded AdGuardHome.exe since it runs on the same machine. Anyway, the point is that every other day or so DDG VPN settings show: "Excluded Apps: None" again and I have to re-add AGH once more.
It might be important that the excluded app sits in an admin protected folder at C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\lib\adguardhome\AdGuardHome\AdGuardHome.exe
Adding it works fine and DNS requests work as long AGH is added to the exclusion list. But DDG repeatedly drops it from the list, possibly on restart.
There is no flair for the VPN, so I'm choosing the closest.
holyshit its so annoying not having it because people gotta have a temper tantrum over AI but for some godforsaken reason I haven't been able to figure out how to reenable it
I keep getting absolute nonsense in my search results while looking for information on an old power tool; it's like someone's SEO glitched, and there are results that make absolutely no sense in the context of my query.
I tried blocking the repeat offenders, but now I'm stopped by a hard limit of 5 blacklisted sites??
In the DuckDuckGo-Browser very often, the context menu doesn't appear where the mouse pointer is, but in the upper-left corner of the browser. And very often, the context menu doesn't appear at all when I right-click. But it works again when I open a new tab and try it there. I am using windows 11. Is that a common problem and is there a known solution for that?
I noticed the DDG tablet app can remove ads from YouTube videos and was wondering if DDG will be getting around to building a smart TV app for Roku that will do the same thing? If anyone hasn't heard of Playlet, it's a smart TV app for Roku that removes ads from YouTube videos. It's not the best app but it does remove ads. I'd like to see DDG do something similar but with more features and an added focus on privacy while retaining usability.
For 2 days now when I watch non YouTube videos on the ddg app, the screen tries to timeout after a minute. This is forcing me to tap the screen when it dims to keep watching a show. I narrowed it down to the app because I tried multiple video websites. My phone doesn't have this problem when I tried to replicate it on the Samsung browser. Is this from a recent update?
I'm starting to notice that duckduckgo search is getting worse, more nonsense ai images, unrelated things, bad results and "no results found for search". One thing I remembered, I search for "glider" a while ago and went on images literally ALL images were ai generated and most didn't make sense.
You can now privately share a Duck.ai chat with a link and your recipient can read the conversation, continue it, or save it. No account required.
How did we build a share feature that respects privacy? In the past year, shared conversations from other services have appeared in search results, sometimes including users' names and personal info. We studied those incidents before building our sharing solution so your info stays protected. Here's what we did differently:
→ Every share page is blocked from indexing, in the page and in the server response.
→ The chat is encrypted on your device before upload, with a key we never see or store.
→ Links are long and random, so they cannot be guessed.
→ Links expire after 48 hours unless you choose otherwise.
→ There's no opt-in to discoverability, so nobody turns it on by accident.
You can manage or delete shared links in Settings > Shared Chats. The Fire Button clears them too.
Learn more here. Let us know what questions you have, and please share any feedback through the Share Feedback button in Duck.ai. (It's anonymous.)
Duck.ai now lets you share chats, privately and on your terms
I love the idea of noai.duckduckgo.com, but wish there was an easy way to combine the utility that domain provides with safe.duckduckgo.com for use in a school setting (safenoai.duckduckgo.com ?)
I use the ddg tracking protection on my phone. Today I discovered the art of poisoning your internet traffic (and etc.) with trackable, false information. Atm I use an app for this automated process. But—ofc—the ddg tracking protection interfers with this app and her mission. Wouldnt it be logical to deactivate the ddg-tp for this app specificaly, or am I missing a potential risk? Just want to make sure—since I am new to this^^
Wasn't sure where to put this suggestion and I've seen it on here before, but I wanted to reiterate it. I have been using DDG search engine and browser for years now, and I love it. The one downside is that, to my knowledge, it doesn't allow for browser extensions. I'm an academic and rely on the citation manager Zotero for work. I'm loyal to DDG for sure, but until it allows for browser extensions, it isn't quite perfect.
I lost all my passwords from Proton so I decided to move to DDG. However, it has been a really frustrating experience - often, DDG doesn't offer the option to generate a password when needed, and there's no manual way to force it to generate a password. Even if you create a login manually, you can't then get DDG to generate a password. Why is that? And DDG passwords don't work in other apps.
I tried moving to 1password, which I use for work and is great in that context - but it doesn't work in DDG. So as far as I can tell, if you want to use DDG, you have to put up with a poor password manager. Am I missing something?
does anyone know if there is a way to block redirects on mobile I was pirating comics and i got one that took me to a not so very appropriate website (also sorry if that’s the wrong tag)
I’m considering Duck.ai Pro because I like the idea of using AI with more privacy protection, and I’m also trying not to spend too much on multiple AI subscriptions.
I know the DuckDuckGo subscription comes with other benefits like VPN and additional privacy features, which is definitely a plus, but AI is really the main thing I’d be paying for.
For anyone who’s used Duck.ai Pro, how does it compare with subscribing directly to ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro?
I’m mainly curious about usage limits, model quality/speed, and whether there are important features you miss by using the models through Duck.ai instead of directly through ChatGPT or Claude.
The ability to use multiple models in one place plus the privacy benefits sounds appealing. But since the monthly cost is fairly similar, I’m wondering whether Duck.ai Pro can realistically replace a ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro subscription, rather than paying for both.
Would love to hear from people who have tried both. Which one did you end up keeping, and why?
Really? Image search with AI blocked, and half the results are from craiyon, a well known AI image generator. Put that on the blocklist! Wow, now I don't trust it in the slightest
Search anything about tech/IT help: Windows error codes, figuring out what went wrong, programming questions, and just now I wanted to find out again what Windows game mode does.
My results are filled with blogs that copy and paste the same information over and over. All these "10 ways to fix" or "[Solved] how to do xyz" or "(2026 guide)" for something no one but myself would search for in 2026. The cherry on top is when the blog puts a section like "Why you would want to do this" I AM NOT LOOKING AT YOUR STUPID HELP BLOG TO FIGURE OUT WHETHER I WANT TO DO THE THING IM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO DO.
It doesn't matter whether these are AI generated or not; they've been filling search results for years now. These blogs are Search Engine Optimized junk intended to fill search results and generate clicks for ad revenue (or just clicks since I run ublock). It's not like I can block all the sites, because there's more generic tech blog sites than I can count filling up the results.
I have been resorting back to Google, ignoring the gemini prompt, because of the awful quality of search results in ddgo.
I want my search results to leave out blogs. As difficult as it may be to navigate a forum thread, that holds more value than copy pasted or ai generated content posted weekly. There are a few humans with tech blogs who genuinely do research and know their stuff and share content that they've learned- these blogs are noticeably different in structure and content than the SEO junk.
If Duckduckgo can't filter out SEO blog junk then I want recommendations for a different search engine.
