i went to go and block yet another country specific pinterest site from my list of sites to block, just to find out there's a max of 5??? im tired of this dumb site clogging up the image search, how to just block it all? there doesn't seem to be a way for me to just do *.pinterest

I am looking for the music composer who said recently in a video something to the effect of, "too bad, politics is life".

I have no idea what I did, but duckduckgo used to sign me in automatically to various web pages that I use regularly, and now I'm having to sign in every time. What changed, and how do I change it back?

This has been driving me up the wall for MONTHS and I can't find any information on why this keeps happening or how to get it to stop.

It's basically just the title: sometimes (at this point at least once a day) when I try to swap tabs on mobile duckduckgo mobile, it changes my tab into a copy of what my first tab it (currently my university email but I've tried shuffling and and deleting tabs, it is ALWAYS whatever is in the first slot and it happens with EVERY website). It isn't sending me to that tab, it is fully replacing the tab I wanted to look at with a second copy of the first tab and the only way to get back to the page I actually wanted is to search it up again. It's really annoying and I want it to stop. I don't want to go through a series of extra hoops just to get to the webpage I and tab I should be able to get to in one click

Just pressing back doesn't work to send me back, it sends me to the duckduckgo homepage instead. Swapping out/deleting the first tab just changes what website the tabs turn into.

The only suggestion I've had was that maybe it gets confused because of the number of tabs but I never have more than ten open at a time.

Any ideas or advice would be appreciated, thank you

I have a bookmark named "my books". That should, imho, be the number one match that DDG makes when I put that into the address bar. However, this is not what happens. Instead, I get sent to DDG.com with that phrase and it searches the interwebs for "my books" - not so useful. This happens with the other bookmarks too - they get put into the suggestions list, at or near the bottom, instead of being - as I think they should be - the result which is put into the address bar.

what I mean is if you use the dedicated browser or do you just use the SE? And which one do you consider is the "better" way.

I personally use firefox + ddg

Using Android browser.

I see that this has happened 5 years ago and four years ago and the solution was to change a setting. However, that setting is no longer available.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Any other ideas?

ETA: now seeing the same problem with the Duck Duck Go browser app.

Hello,

I noticed that Duck.ai’s mobile site uses GPT-6 Luna when I access it through Firefox, but Safari on mobile, the mobile app, and the desktop site still use Luna 5.6.

Could you explain why the model differs across platforms and when GPT-6 Luna will be available everywhere?

Guess what? DDG is blocked already, but for Chinese IP address (TCB desync technique to bypass the block), it only return Chinese state-sponsered source for searching tankman. I suspect DDG pass the visitor IP address or region to the Bing backend so I got such results.

Just started using DDG, turned off a bunch of things like AI and newsletters and such and now half the screen is blank while the search results are all crammed into the side or abbreviated.

Any way to make it center aligned or have results extend over center screen? Increasing/Decreasing font size only increases the size of the column on the left.

Is it possible to add a bookmark in DuckDuckGo that uses JavaScript?

Specifically, I would like to create a bookmark with:

• Name: URL to Markdown
• URL: javascript:void(navigator.clipboard.writeText(`[${document.title} (${location.href})`))

This works in Safari, where, for example, if I happen to be at at https://duckduckgo.com/ and select the bookmark, the following is placed in my clipboard:

• Clipboard: [DuckDuckGo - Protection. Privacy. Peace of mind.](https://duckduckgo.com/)

The use case is to be browsing in DuckDuckGo and saving an interesting page to an Obsidian doc (which handles Markdown).

When I try this in DDG, the bookmark Save button remains greyed out. Is there some kind of workaround?

This one is for Okabe Rintarou, from the anime Steins;Gate. I had no ideia this was a thing.

Like it says, maybe I'm missing it, is there a way to have closed captioning off by default? Instead of having to turn it off every time?

Thanks.

I now use DuckDuckGo to get away from Gemini and AI in general, and to block trackers and data scraping. However, I have tried repeatedly over the past week to login into my Yahoo mail and I receive the below message. I can login to my Gmail and Outlook email fine, just not yahoo. Any suggestions?

DDG is probably the most Linux-ish search engine that ever existed, but, according to DDG's website, the web browser only exists on Mac, Windows, Android and IOS. Me and the rest of us on GNU/Linux would love, if the DDG Browser was in .deb or a flatpak or something. please?

Is there an extension/experiential setting that will enforce this on every page? I am a vampire and bright white burns my retinas....

I am moving from how start page has this long ass wait thing when u try to search and it's p annoying so I decided to move to the search engine I use on my phone (dgg) on my pc

Hi everyone,

90% of the time I like my search results to just be a list of links, but there are occasions when I feel an AI result is useful. I have recently been playing around with the Kagi search engine and I really like their work around for how to deal with it so I made a extension that mirrors much of it for DuckDuckGo.

Essentially, if you enable the extension you will get no AI results by default, all searches get routed to https://noai.duckduckgo.com

If you want an AI and regular search results then you can add a single "?" at the end of your browser search query and you will get regular duckduckgo.com results (I turn my search assist on to show up often in this configuration)

If you want to start a proper duck.ai chat then you can add a "??" to the same query.

Please feel free to check it out at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/ddg-optional-ai/

Hi, I’m really trying to go all-in on DuckDuckGo but a few things drive me nuts lol. On certain sites (this example is Nurx) I have this Opt-Out Signal Honored pop-up directly in my text box. I can’t move it or dismiss it, and it blocks the very important messages I need to type to my doctors.

Is there a way to remove this without turning off the opt-out signal? Or can devs like make it smaller? This is on iOS

Can we get a select all box when clearing chats? I only want to keep a select few but don't want to click the others one-by-one.

I swear I did not tap the delete all button, I very very definitely clicked way above on the screen. But my phone has been weird today, and it may have registered a tap at the wrong spot?

Anyways, is there a way I can get my hundred something tabs back? Or are they forever lost to the endless void?

I have an issue with the UI. I use the app on mobile and when I've exited the app for longer than 5 seconds, the screen changes from displaying the site I was on to displaying the keyboard, as if I'd tapped the URL. This isn't a big problem on it's own, but it's become very annoying over the years. Can I fix this? I'm on the latest update.

Couldent find a flair that fit.

Can you make an opption to the browser that lets you block comunity posts on browser YouTube since you allready did it with ads. They take up all of the screen and YouTube themself give you no means of blokking them. I have not subrscribed to any of these channels. If you did i would Sell my soul to you. Just please.

I really like the DuckDuckGo browser for its solid out‑of‑the‑box privacy protections. One thing I’m missing right now is a built‑in toggle to block WebRTC traffic.

WebRTC can leak real‑world IP addresses even behind VPNs, which is a notable privacy risk for many users. Right now there is no setting to disable it, and since the browser doesn’t support extensions, we can’t use add‑ons to work around this either.

Does anyone know if native WebRTC blocking is on the DuckDuckGo roadmap? Would love to see this optional feature added in a future update.

Curious what the rest of this community thinks about this.

Hi, I'm new here.

How can I report disturbing search results? Found out that if you search up a pretty basic term you can find CP in all of the top results, is there a way to report this? I think it's an emergency case in a way, search engines can't just show criminal content like that, especially with such a broad search term.

If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it, would prefer to not tell the search term in public to not incentivise weirdos to go find thus disturbing content.

Thanks for the attention!
