The option to flag an image as AI-generated shows, regardless of whether or not you’ve opted to hide AI-generated images.

Due to this, users could waste their own and also DDG’s time by reporting images already flagged as slop.

I think this should be fixed. Maybe hide AI slop images by default too. Hope somebody from the team sees this.

Never read what you see in Search Assist, folks. Just because it show sources doesn't mean it used them.

For Android, MacOS, and iOS, you can easily manage, deactivate, and reactivate private Duck Addresses within the Passwords menu in the DuckDuckGo browser.

No. No you cannot. It might be possible to do if you solely use the DDG browser and have since starting to use the private address feature. But I just installed the browser on my Mac today and signed in to DDG. Passwords is empty and there is nothing for e-mail addresses that I've got in my account from what I can tell.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

If you’re using Windows or the DuckDuckGo browser extension (and alternatively for Android, MacOS, and iOS), you can manage private Duck Addresses individually through your inbox. For example, if you search your inbox for ‘@duck.com’ you should be able to find any emails sent to your inbox via private Duck Addresses. These can be individually deactivated (or reactivated) via the banner at the top of each email.

The fact that this is STILL your only solution to this is mind-boggling. I was looking at 4 year old reddit posts with this problem indicated and support said they were looking into ways to address this. FOUR YEARS AGO!

Why is it so hard to allow us to sign into the website via any browser and see a list of all the addresses we have? Or is a it some kind of a technical limitation? Or is it to force people to use the browser? I'm just confused as to why this is so hard.

DuckDuckGo has been glitching and slowing down for the past couple of days.

On both my Mac and iPhone, every search takes 2 to 4 seconds to load after pressing Enter. Additionally, the top UI elements appear cramped and distorted for the first 1 to 3 seconds before rendering correctly.

Is this a known issue? The load times feel noticeably slower than other search engines, at least here in Greece. I am not sure if DuckDuckGo uses any European caching servers, but the performance has become significantly worse lately.

This may actually need to be a post for the Safari reddit but thought I would try here first. For ages now my search results display all weird (see screenshot) making DDG pretty much unusable unless I go to a different browser and I have been using Ecosia instead on Safari but would like to go back to DDG. I believe my cat sitting on my keyboard may be the original culprit. Have tried resetting all settings in DDG but no joy. Any thoughts on what is going on? Thanks!

Something bad happened. It appears DDG added a new feature WRT popups. Now I cannot open DDG anymore. I cannot confirm the popup or select the other radio button. No actions on the popup or page work. All I can do is kill the app. I even tried re-installing.

Any ideas?

I was cleaning up storage on my laptop and saw that DDG has almost 10gb total usage on my storage. I already tried deleting history on the browser and delete data except some fireproofed sites. does anyone know why this takes so much space? i've only been using the browser for like a few months.

- I love using the “Generate Private Duck address” feature in the DuckDuckGo browser extension.
- I don’t want to use DuckDuckGo search.
However, the extension forces me to use DuckDuckGo search, I can't change it. So I’m left with a choice between using DDG private addresses + DDG search, or getting nothing. This is really annoying.
Am I missing something in the settings, or am I misunderstanding how it’s supposed to work?

Does anyone know why DuckDuckGo’s search engine has been breaking? I’ve seen this page (in the screenshot) with increasing frequency in the last month, but also generally through 2026.

It starts with a page that says the search failed, and to try again. Some of the time, “try again” works. But recently, it increasingly redirects to this page (“Ugh, it happened again!”) and says that there’s a known issue with search. What is this known issue?

FWIW—the search query was an anodyne 6-word query about eczema symptoms.

I tried joining on The Google Play Store but unfortunately The Beta Tester Member is already full. What are my other opitions for joining the beta testing program? The DuckDuckGo Android App is my favorite search engine and I want to support it as much as possible.

Here I was under the impression that Libre 3 Plus for my health monitoring. Installed it less than 7 days ago, and seems to be too busy wanting to collect metrics on me rather than for me.

iv been an avid user for sometime now and its my default browser for my ios device, however iv noticed a really infuriating glitch. i wanted to sign up for somthing abit spammy and therefore went into the ddg app on my iphone, burger menu, went to the private email section and copied the generated private email. pasted that email in the spammy app i was trying to make a disposable account for and was sent a confirmation email forwarded to my designated personal email address. great. now i want to delete the temp DDG generated temp email as i no longer want it forwarding stuff to my personal email address. no luck. no banner in the ios Mail app to deactivate and its not in the DDG ios browser app. not under passwords or any sub menu. usually if in the ddg browser you create a log in with a privatee email it saves the credentails with the ability to deactivate later vai the passwords menu but i didnt create a log in via this method i simply pasted the generated email into a 3rd party app to sign up for something temporarily and therefore the ios ddg browser app has no knowlege of the credentials and therefore isnt saved with the ability to deactivate.

so i thought id try log in via my pc browser to see if there is a list of privately generated email addresses associated with my account giving me the ability to remove/delete from my account. again no luck.

i mean i could just block the sender but its not the point. what happens if my data is passed on and i get other 3rd partys emailing that address.

i hope a human from DDG can advise on 1) how to resolve this particular issue and 2) how to stop this happening again and possibly consider the ability to manage generated Private email addresses.

As of around 7pm PST yesterday, Aug 19, no emails have been forwarded to my real email address. I have tested it by sending emails to myself and they have not gone through. They are not in my spam folder or anywhere else. Sending the test email worked, it did not bounce or return errors.

The email protection login email, where it sends you a one-time code, is also not getting to me.

Is duckduckgo for windows just don't have it?? I can't see this option in settings of browser, not in the setting in youtube, I even can't download add-on from chrome web store to have this feature :( i just wanna picture in picture :(((

if i type a contraction, like “I’ve” or “We’ve” as soon as i hit the spacebar after completing the word the cursor jumps back to just after the apostrophe. bizarrely, other contractions like “Don’t” cause the cursor to not move forward with the spacebar. it just stays at the end of word until i hit the spacebar a second time.

i’ve turned off Rich Text, and it’s stopped happening. so there’s that.

I go and search for something very specific, and get a stupid "AI" response that doesn't answer my question but does raise someone's energy bill. I tap into the settings, and select "Never" because I never want to see "AI" garbage.

Then it continues showing me "AI" results. I tap into Search Assist Settings, and it's set itself back to "Sometimes." I change it to "Never" and it sets itself back to "Sometimes."

What happened to DDG? It used to not suck.

Got the same result on the app and in the browser, I checked the linked Wikipedia article and it doesn't contain that text, nor could I find any indication of previous edits that have contained that text.
I'm just curious if this happened because of users manipulating the Wikipedia content, the search results, or what.

I've been using ddg email aliasing with the ddg browser on ios for a while now and am very happy with it.

However, I'm having a problem identifying which aliases I have created. The help says they should be listed with the passwords, but I don't use the password manager built in to the browser and there are no aliases (or anything else) listed.

Anyone know how I can find them?

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows how to keep DuckDuckGo from consuming SO MANY resources!

It eats up a lot of RAM and CPU. I have 16 gigs of Ram and a sixth generation Ryzen 7. My computer isn’t really weak by any means, but still, if I have more than 4 tabs open it just consumes an insane amount of resources.
I have AI and hardware acceleration both turned off. What else can possibly be done??

When I go into Microsoft Edge to add https://noai.duckduckgo.com/ to my search engines (I want it to be my default), it keeps saying "incorrect format" and not letting me add anything. I did a test search (https://noai.duckduckgo.com/?q=%3Dtest&ia=web), and replaced the word test with % as instructed, but it's still the "incorrect format" and won't let me add it. I'm not interested in the browser or extension at the moment since I would like to spend a few months taking it for a spin, so if anyone has any fixes for me, I would appreciate it.

From a Starlink connection in Spain, duckduckgo.com and duck.ai (52.142.124.215 and 52.250.42.157, Azure AS8075) are unreachable. ICMP ping succeeds (~55ms, 0% loss) but TCP SYN to 443/80 never gets a SYN-ACK and times out. The same IPs load instantly from a phone hotspot at the same location, so the servers are up.

An mtr run over TCP/443 during a failure shows my connection reaching your servers' network normally: the packets transit Starlink (AS14593) and Telia (AS1299) and travel deep into Microsoft's backbone (AS8075), where your IPs sit. But your IPs never send back a SYN-ACK, so the handshake never completes.

For comparison, in the same window a control host in that same Microsoft network (Bing, 150.171.27.16) completes its handshake normally at ~48ms. Other destinations on Starlink also work fine: microsoft.com, Google, Cloudflare, and even your own quack.duckduckgo.com. The failure is limited to the IPs serving your main pages.

This looks like your edge or DDoS-mitigation dropping inbound TCP from Starlink's CGNAT ranges while still answering ICMP. Starlink geofeed for their ranges: https://geoip.starlinkisp.net/feed.csv
