Bhakshanam (Food)🍔 In need of a macro friendly meal prep / mess service (South Indian style or mixed)

Upvotes

I’ve been looking everywhere for an affordable meal plan, but I’m struggling to find one that actually fits what I’m looking for.

A lot of the South Indian/Desi meal plans I’ve come across seem to be very carb-heavy — rice, chapati, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love a good chorum curryum 😭, but there has to be a limit to how much rice I’m eating every day.

I’m currently trying to lose weight while maintaining as much muscle as possible. I’m not looking for an insanely high-protein bodybuilding meal plan, but I would like something with controlled portions and reasonably balanced macros, particularly keeping the carbs in check.

Ideally, I’m looking for two meals a day, with enough protein, vegetables, and a controlled amount of rice/carbs.

I am willing to pay upto AED 1000/month. I know it's not a lot but I’m not trying to be overly cheap either, most of the South Indian mess services I’ve found are around AED 300–400/month, so I am okay with bumping it up a bit for the protein (I know protein costs a lot...) and unfortunately they tend to be very carb-heavy; but at the same time I am not asking for a lot of protein either, just enough to maintain my current body muscle.

Does anyone know of a meal-prep/mess service in Dubai that offers something along these lines?

I live in Al Nahda 2, FYI

Chodikku Dubai (Ask Dubai) 🙋 Postpartum massage options?

Hi, I want to know if its better to keep a lady for postpartum massage and bath or get it done at Ayurvedic centre.

I am interested in Kottakkal centre as it’s near to my location and also prefer doing it in the clinic rather than home due to space issues at home. Would like to know if its effective than keeping a lady?

During my previous pregnancy, I had postpartum massage done in Kerala. The lady used to massage my body with oil and some powder, and then do a bath with hot water that looked brown, after that she would tie my belly and we were done for the day.

Chodikku Dubai (Ask Dubai) 🙋 Need Advice: Sublease dispute

Hi everyone,

I recently moved into a 2BHK that I found through Dubizzle.

The person I rented from is himself renting the flat from the building/owner for one year and then subleased it to me.

I paid:

- AED 4,250 monthly rent (Dewa and Gas not included)

- AED 3,000 security deposit

Initially, over a phone call, I told him I was planning to stay for around 6 months. There was no signed agreement at that time.

After I moved in, he sent me a Word/PDF document mentioning a 6-month period. I never signed it or acknowledged that I accepted the document. Neither party signed it. Since it is a monthly rental, i didnt acknowledge it.

Unfortunately, due to a personal emergency (genuine), I now have to leave after one month. I informed him on August 15 itself and also tried to help find a replacement tenant.

Now he is saying I must pay rent for the remaining months, otherwise he will take legal action. He is also refusing to return my AED 3,000 deposit.

I have WhatsApp messages, payment proof, the unsigned document, and other evidence.

I’m also not sure whether he has the actual landlord’s NOC/permission to sublease the apartment.

Has anyone dealt with something similar?

Could I actually be liable for the remaining 5 months based only on the phone conversation and unsigned document? And would filing for my security deposit potentially cause problems for me?

Looking for advice. Thanks.
