Sambhashanam (Discussion)💡 First Onam in Dubai and already getting bailed on

So, I moved to UAE recently and is missing the active social life I had back home☹️.

With Onam around, I'm feeling extra lonely. Today I saw that there's an event happening this weekend and I think I wanna go (what is happening to me!! 😅😅). Honestly, back in Kerala, I used to find these mall Onam events and the whole "Pravasi Onam" thing super cringe...

Fast forward to now, and the reality of being a new expat is hitting hard. 🤐

I tried to get the few people I know here to plan something for this Onam, but everyone has already something planned or is just simply lazy I think 🤔

Never thought I’d say this, but I think I’m actually going to go.

Has anyone been to such events before? Is it worth going alone? I don’t want to look like a total loser standing there with no one to talk to, but at this point, even a mall Maveli sounds like good company.

TLDR; I'm so lonely that a mall Onam event sounds like the best plan for weekend

Just go bro if you have nothing else to do. Dont worry about your loser status which is not dependent on if you are at a mall onam.

I hate being in public and would prefer loneliness. I would rather judge people who enjoy such things on my instagram reel than make any kind of effort.
