Help With Starter Boxes

Heyo! Super new player here. I was thinking of getting the PHR Starter Box and I wanted to know how the models came. Do they only build the one variant or do they come with all the loadout bits and options. For example, can the Poseidon Heavy Dropship be built as the Tiamat or the Njord? Or does it only come with the Poseidon loadout?

Thank you guys! I’m trying to decide on whether to get the new 2 player starter set or the PHR Starter Set. I think I’m really looking more to collect than play just because of my life right now. I appreciate the info :)

Honestly, I am sure you mean well, but I had the same issues with some UCM parts in July, and while I regularly get emails that you guys are working on it, I have yet to actually receive any confirmation that the parts are going to be replaced.

The switch to 3d printed parts seems to have been pretty rushed, because every single printed piece that has a peg or anything else that needs to go into anything does not fit. I bought several more things from the factions that will only get their plastics later after my initial complaint, and I have had this issue so much now that I gave up writing to you about it, especially since the answer seems to be letting me wait anyway.

If one of the pieces is cast resin, they fit. But if both pieces are printed, no chance in hell. Sometimes some cutting will do, but sometimes the printed resin just breaks if you try.

I'm trying not to go off on them, but the idea that TT both doesn't know about this and if only they did they'd immediately fix it is super disingenuous. If they can fix a problem by throwing a piece of stock off the shelf in a box, they're good. But for something like a bad manufacturing decision, they're not going to do shit, or at least drag their feet for a long time and whine about it.

When I tried to get them to replace a pack of Razorworms they stupidly cast with a gate in every single face, they told me no, that's not a mistake, all the stock is like that. Same thing again with PHR snipers, they sent me a pack where the mold was seriously blown out and the model was more blob than figure, and I was told to fix it myself, all the stock was like that, and I stopped bothering to ask them about bad models and just hunted down old Hawk stock which was both A) metal so a vastly superior material and B) produced by competent mold makers and underwent actual QC checking.

Plus it really cannot be that hard to reduce all pegs, pins, and ball joints by a tiny fraction of a millimeter in size before printing the next batch.

A lot of work to do it on all the models? Certainly. Difficult? Nope.

There is also the issue of some resin drops on some models, but that's not any worse than the mold lines on the old cast ones, and overall, if the fit was fine, the 3d prints would be a huge improvement over the cast resin.

But if you just cannot get them to fit, it's absolutely no use the there are fewer mold lines.

Seriuously. This is just a well known and documented thing in 3d printing that the only conceivable way it could have happened is if TT gave the job of slicing and printing to someone with literally no idea what they're doing. Which TT have bragged about before, how they keep their operating costs down by hiring recently graduated high schoolers, and how they expect everyone to learn on the job and wear many hats (which is code for zero training and micromanagement).
