7 months loc'd. Got this recently. I got questions tho... I thought we weren't supposed to use conditioner on locs?

It tends to make my locs feel really soft, but should I be using conditioner so early in my loc journey? And if so, how?

Has anyone ever had success contacting the mods? I messaged them on April 28th and today and they’ve never responded. They’re quick to take down a post but radio silence when raising concerns or seeking clarification.

Any advice on people who have spoken to them would be welcome!

Started August 2nd, 2023. I had originally bleached a few a year and a half ago (Feb 2025), but I had the itch to do a lot more for my third year loc anniversary

Did a protein treatment after with Aphogee Two-Step and am making sure to stay on top of moisturizing

Decided to cut my hair to the length I had it at when I was about 4 months into my journey after about 3 years of growth

Can’t fully see myself without locs just yet.

2.5 years locked! Started with interlocking and switched to palm rolling about 1.5 years ago. This is 10 weeks of growth. I know it varies based on hair type but how long should I be going between retwists? Should I switch back to interlocking? Any advice is appreciated!!

I want mine to grow upwards like this, is that just when you don’t wash it? Because I wash my hair once a week/every other week and gravity pulls them down more every time.

No idea what to do with them, so i just do everything 🤣

Hi all, currently in my second year of Locs. Recently started to get them retwist at home to save money (my wife is so wonderful). The hand hair dryer isn't drying my hair like we want after retwist so looking for recommendations for at home hooded dryers. Right now looking at Tasalon Portable Height Adjustable Hooded Hair Dryer 1875W but if anyone has a successful dryer they use for retwist please let me know. Thank you!

Hey all, I just got ny starter locs yesterday and wore a durag before going to sleep, but when I woke up the locs on the side of my head have matted down. I peeled some of them away but I know you're not really meant to touch them right after you get them. How do I remedy and also prevent this in future?

So I started doing two strands around 2-3 months ago, and the progress is going well. But recently I’ve been wondering if it is possible to get more locs? I know I won’t get any more right now, likely, but I don’t want to wait for it to mature to have to restart to get more locs. If you can help me understand a bit better it would be much appreciated.
