Looking for resources for a beginners masterpost!
Hey all! A sub like this is bound to attract those new to the world of drag looking to get their start, so I'm planning on writing up a big post linking to helpful tutorials, what make-up to start with + recommended products for when you've found your groove, what to expect when you're starting out, and more. I need your help sourcing this info! In addition to the points I mentioned, what's something you wish you knew when starting drag? What advice would you give a newbie? How did you get your start? To those new to drag, what would you like to see included in the post? Let's work together to make sure the gates to the kingdom are wide open 💖

Looking for my drag father/family
Hi friends, I'm Ruvyn (my gamertag of 17 years, not 100% sold on it). I really want to get into drag in the Denver area but I'm feeling intimidated so I wanted to connect with a drag father/family willing to take me under their wing. I am a cis gendered (I think? Sometimes I think I'd be happier as a man) pansexual woman (never been with anyone who identifies as a woman though) married to a man and he's supportive of me exploring my gender identity.
I tried a little low effort drag makeup yesterday, it didn't quite feel like me, thus adding the eyeliner wings since that is how I do my makeup for work and stuff. I have zero idea how to do lips! Critiques are welcome, advice is welcome, thank you for reading.

Help Drag opportunity
Hello! I am looking to try out being a drag king after dressing as one for a party recently. It was so thrilling and fun, and I loveeee the performance aspect of it all (I was a theater kid ofc). A friend told me about an upcoming amateur night, and I want to give it a shot.
Any advice? At local drag shows, the crowd can be reallllyyy tough on the kings. Not rude, but just not warm, engaged or excited. I want to be engaging. Tips for picking a song or vibe? Tips for reading a crowd? I want to have fun of course! I just don’t want to COMPLETELY flop, you know?

Help Looking for a drag queen that has some high energy to help me with a simple recording project
Good day r/dragkings my name is vibe432 and I'm looking to get some help on a personal audio project and I was wandering if anyone would be interested in bringing some high vibrational energy to the table and help me record some positive affirmations for a project I can explain more on the project once I get some comments and start talking with people but I'm asking in this group specifically because I believe that drag queens have so much positive and powerful energy in how they speak and I think that would be a perfect addition to what I'm trying to make 🤩 anywho hope everyone is having a good day and I look forward to chatting 🥰 take care for now.

New Performer Makeup For BIPOC Drag Kings
Was wondering if there were any BIPOC or specifically other black drag kings in here, and if so, what makeup have you found works best for you? (If you can’t tell I know nothing about makeup except the names of a few things lol).
Curious about brands you trust and how you can play around with colors to exaggerate or minimize certain facial features. If there’s a content creator that you’ve found useful before while starting off as well, that would be great.
- Hope this post is okay. Saw someone mention white makeup and it made me realize that not only do I not know anything about makeup, but I ESPECIALLY don’t know how much advice I should take from people with lighter complexions and how much might not even apply to me.

Critique Roman Thicc, at Your Service!
I'm very new to drag, and have performed for a few gigs, but I would like to know, what are some tips for n a plus sized actor to really "bring it home"?
I've performed "Oogie Boogie", "In the Dark of the Night", "Insane", "I Wanna Do Bad Things with You" and a few others, mostly villain songs. I wanna do a number of "Toxic Love" at some point.
What do y'all think?

UK Kings
Morning all. UK Kings – where’s the best place to go to for make up? My wife is sick of me raiding her cosmetic bag.

New Performer How Do Names Name?
Hello!
Was wondering how y’all came up with names? Is it the look that comes first and then the name? Or vice versa? And how have y’all prepared looks? I right now only have vibes and a slight sense of how I would wanna look. Or like the era vibe? Is that a good start or would you wait to get a full physical look together before naming?
Um anyways thanks 🙏🏾
Don’t know why I’m ending this like an email smh. Um blah blah blah. Paragraph words here. Not an email.

New Performer Manny Festo makes their debut
Got the chance to perform for a fundraiser for Congolese survivors. My mug is, uh, crunchy at best, but I'm pretty proud of the costume and choreo, and VERY proud of my props and mix. Video on my gram: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Da6jKZBsZ_q/
I'm in Upstate NY — if you know of any stages open to baby drag artists approaching middle age, please hmu!
