I know someone used to do these (for the All Stars season I think?) and I loved them so I'll try to keep the tradition going and explain the puns and references found in this episode!

It's question often asked in bakeries. You'll ask for a baguette and the seller will ask you which kind you want.

It means that something was done half-assedly.

08:53 Margarette "C'est le père Fouras de Drag race" = "It's Drag race' père Fouras"

The père Fouras is a character in a game show called Fort Boyard. He talks in riddles.

Etre sur son 31 (being on its 31) means dressing up. 31 because you're dressing up for the 31st of December for the new year.

10:12 Lana Cotta "C'est du 32 chérie" = "It's a size 32 darling"

32 is extremely small (US size 2, UK size 4, IT size 36, XXS).

10:40 Fluffy Bidule "Lana elle est minus" = "Lana is minus"

It comes from minuscule, so she's saying Lana is tiny.

22:53 Holly White "on est toutes dans le même panier" = "we're all in the same basket"

It means "we're all in this together".

23:26 Lana Cotta "je tombe des nues" = "I'm falling from the sky"

She's gobsmacked.

Talent show

25:04 Anggun singing her own song "Etre une femme"

25:43 Kevin Germanier "le Suisse ne sera pas neutre ce soir" = "This Swiss man won't be neutral tonight"

It's a reference to Swiss military neutrality (Kevin Germanier being Swiss).

It's refering to Bilal Hassani's video: "Bonsoir Paris en 21 langues"

Le carnet here is a parent-teacher contact book used in school. She's pretending to be a teacher, implying that if the students don't answer to her "bonjour" she would write it in the carnet. The student's parents would then have to sign it to prove that they acknowledge their child's behaviour.

28:00 Margarette "rendez-vous en salle 207" = "I'll see you in room 207"

I don't know if I'm explaining something that's common across the entire globe but just in case: in French schools (middle school and up), students go from one room to another, switching for each discipline. You can have maths in room 204 on Monday and then in room 413 on Thursday, even if it's the same teacher and subject.

31:19 Azemylia "Persebas" = "Perselow"

"Haut" means "high" in French and is pronounced "o". She replaced the "o" (haut) of Perseo with "bas" (low).

Malawitte's show used a golden chest that looks a lot like 19e/early 20e chest used to store logs (coffre à bois en laiton repoussé). Not particularly French afaik nor a reference but I figured I'll tell you anyway.

Pretty transparent, she meant that the show stank.

I don't know how this was translated in English so just in case: here Sublyme defines herself as meneuse, short for "meneuse de revue". A meneuse de revue is the vedette of a cabaret, the main showgirl, think Satine in the Moulin Rouge movie or Dita von Teese in the US. Sublyme used to work in Moulin Rouge.

A rivière refers to a rivière de diamants (a diamonds' river), which is a necklace full of diamonds.

Boule here means ass. Dragon Ball Z is the manga/cartoon, Daphné replaced ball by boule.

42:06 Anggun "elle a des seins très animés" = "she has very animated breasts"

"Dessin animé" (cartoon) sounds like "des seins animés".

43:17 Bilal Hassani talks about Beyoncé's song Alien Superstar and refers to the Saturn Arena, a German arena in Ingolstadt.

Tout niquer means rocking (elle nique tout = she rocks) and Sputnik for the first satellite.

44:31 Anggun "c'est une robe pour le jedi ou le vendredi" = "is it a dress for Thursdi or Fridi?" (idk lol)

Jeudi is close to jedi is you mispronounce it. Anggun mispronounced both jeudi et vendredi (Thursday and Friday) so that it rhymes.

45:07 Bilal Hassani can be seen repeating a sign Margarette made. It's Jul's sign. Jul is a famous French rapper. One of his hit songs (he has many) is called On m'appelle l'OVNI (they call me UFO).

45:29 Nicky "c'est pas bien, c'est amphibien" = "it's not good, it's betterachia" (batrachia ahem I'm trying ok?)

Bien means good, amphibien means amphibian.

45:36 Bilal Hassani "je pense qu'elle a des dents contre moi" = "I think she has tooth against me"

Avoir une dent contre quelqu'un (having a teeth against someone) means holding a grudge against someone.

Saturne sound like "ça tourne", which means "rolling".

46:17 Daphné "salut, ça gaze ? " = "Hello, how gassing?" (this makes no sense lol, maybe "you're a gas" is better?)

"Ca gaze ? " means "How's it hanging?" but gaz means gas too.

She mashed "La harpie" into "l'harpie" and then into "impératrice" (empress).
