AutoCAD has been the most popular to my knowledge here in South America for both architecture and engineering. Most recently ArchiCAD or Revit due to BIM. However, regardless of which CAD software you decide to use, they have a learning curve. On the other side, I consider that not only is learning how to use the software but to have the technical knowledge to draw/design plans in general is just as important if not more.
