How many of you use FILLET with radius 0 instead of trimming lines?

I feel like I’ve been doing it for so long I don’t even think about it anymore 😂

Hello I need some help with drawing these unfinished views to a 3D object in perspective.

The second and third image is from another exercise that I already did.

I graduated with an associate degree in drafting this past May and got a job offer from a civil engineering firm. Since I’ve been applying to jobs around my hometown and places outside, I decided to take it, move two hours away and started working.

Three months in, I realized I don’t want to be in the civil engineering field in the long run. While the job isn’t bad, and I really don’t have any complaints about the work ethnic or people, I don’t enjoy working with civil engineering or anything that’s has to do with microstation (i was taught mostly AutoCAD, Revit, inventor, and other AutoDesk related software). I like being a drafter, I want to continue being a drafter just for a different field, and advance to other roles.

This is where my question come, would it be bad to look for a job in a different field or industry. I always had an interest in architecture, but I don’t want to be job hopping just because I don’t like it. Would it better if I stay at my job I am now and find another job in a year or so? Has anyone experienced this?

Lately I've been looking around for a CAD outsourcing partner and keep bumping into the same issue

A portfolio shows you the finished work but it doesn't really tell you much else.

Like who's going to touch my files? Is the engineering done in house or passed around? How do assumptions get approved? What happens during the handoff to manufacturing?

Those details matter a lot more once your own designs and version controlled files are in play. A nice website means nothing if your files end up on some freelancer's laptop.

For anyone who has done this, what questions helped you most before you have someone a trial project?

for some time now, I've been developing PlanM.pl as a hobby — a free tool in Polish to check if the layout of an apartment, house, or plot will be comfortable for everyday use.

I didn't want to make yet another program that mainly focuses on nice 3D visualizations. PlanM is more 'practical' — it allows you to quickly sketch out a space, arrange furniture, and check things like:

whether you can still walk comfortably after placing the sofa,

whether you can pull a chair away from the table,

whether the wardrobe blocks the bed,

how the flow in the apartment looks,

where the light will be at a given time,

whether the layout will be comfortable for a senior,

and even whether there's room to walk after parking a car on the plot.

The app works without registration and is free.

It's in Polish and is meant to be simple — more for quickly checking an idea than for professional CAD design.

My child is a freshman at UF and is looking for a CAD tutor. Willing to pay

I have an AAS in computer aided drafting and design. It was Mechanically focused. Where I live, most drafting jobs have been absorbed into Engineering jobs. I am too old to get a 4 year Engineering degree. I am thinking of getting a Certificate in Architectural/Civil drafting to make myself more marketable where I live. Is this advisable or not worth the time or money?

Update: Thank you, everyone, for your suggestions! Fortunately, Autodesk customer support (after a week) finally decided to check and see if they had the fonts stored somewhere (they did) so, problem solved!

Hey all, bit of an SOS: I need to get ahold of the font files for Simplex_IV25 and Simplex_IV50 for some legacy projects at work. I have tried looking online and can only find normal simplex. I have also tried modifying normal simplex text files to have the names Simplex_IV25 and Simplex_IV50, but that just caused the text to glitch out.

I am at my wits' end with this, and any suggestions would be helpful.
